Footwear exports enjoy 13% rise during Jan-Oct

The export turnover of Vietnamese footwear products hit US$11.82 billion in the first ten months of 2017, up 13% year-on-year.

Exports to Indonesia recorded the highest growth, at 53%, followed by Singapore (45%), Hungary (34%), India (33.7%) and Poland (33%).

The Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association predicted that the footwear sector’s production will enjoy a growth rate of 5% this year compared to last year, while the export value of footwear and handbags will reach nearly US$18 billion, or a 10% rise a year-on-year.

Vietnam is aiming for US$24-26 billion in leather, footwear and handbag exports by 2020, US$35-38 billion by 2025 and US$50-60 billion by 2035.
