Global tire company Bridgestone, battery maker GS, American company 3M, Total and Bosch were set to provide comprehensive care for 300 cars in Ho Chi Minh City during August 17-18.

The “Car Care Day” event at Military Zone 7 Stadium is an initiative of BenhVienOTo.vn, a Vietnamese-language all-about-car website.

The event is the first-ever of its kind in Vietnam, said BenhVienOTo Group CEO Tran Hong Ninh. Its two main purposes are safety on the road and car maintenance up to required standards, according to the event organisers.

According to CEO of Bridgestone Vietnam Motoki Nagasawa, the number of cars for care this time was limited at 300 in order to ensure good care quality, and car engineers were invited to serve the car users.

Bridgestone is in charge of tire check and consulting. American company 3M is responsible for inside-car and outside-car maintenance and deodorisation, GS provides battery maintenance and advise, while Total performes all-about-lubricant check and consulting for both the engine and brake.

All proceeds from Car Care Day Ho Chi Minh City will go to community activities.

A repetition of the event will take place in Hanoi on October 12-13 at My Dinh National Stadium. Ninh said BenhVienOTo had plans to expand the event to other cities, and later to other vehicles like vans, trucks, and buses.
