National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has been ranked the third most improved airline in the world at Skytrax World Airline Awards.

This has been the second consecutive year that VNA has received the award since 2015, when the airline was named in the Top Ten of the World Airline Awards category, based on a global survey of millions of passengers.

The company also took the 44th position among the World's top 100 airlines, 11 places up from last year’s 55th position.

At the announcement of the awards at the Farnborough International Airshow (England) on July 14, the Hanoi-based carrier was also certified as a 4-star airline by the International Air Transport Rating Organisation, alongside the world’s most reputable airlines, such as Air France, British Airways, Emirates, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, and Lufthansa.

The world's Most Improved Airline Award is handed out after analysing changes of global airlines, looking for improvement in quality in a range of categories, such as airport services, meals, in-flight entertainment, and the attitudes of flight attendants.
