Vietnam’s leading low-cost carrier VietJetAir has added one more Airbus A320 to its fleet.

The narrow-body aircraft is also the first plane in Vietnam emblazoned with the country’s new official tourism logo and slogan. The new national emblem — a stylized five-petal lotus accompanied by the words, “Vietnam – Timeless Charm” – adorns both sides of the plane’s front section. The latter part of the plane, harmoniously coloured red and yellow, represents the national flag of Vietnam.

“This initiative proves VietJetAir’s commitment and effort to promote tourism in Vietnam in cooperation with Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) for the period 2012-2015. Covered with an innovative logo and truly Vietnamese colours, the aircraft is expected to generate interest amongst Vietnamese tourists but also foreign travellers looking to visit the diverse attractions in Vietnam and discover more about our exciting culture,” said Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The unveiling of VietJetAir’s new aircraft coincides with New7Wonders Foundation’s official confirmation of Halong Bay as one of the New7Wonders of Nature - further evidence of Vietnam’s rise as a destination for the global traveller. The official inauguration ceremonies will take place on April 27 in Hanoi and on May 1 in Halong Bay.

“VNAT’s utilisation of our aircraft as a promotional tool for Vietnam tourism is a unique move and we are honoured to join hands with the government to promote and develop domestic tourism. With this special logo, we are now even more aware of the need to increase our operation’s quality to effectively promote the country’s brand both locally and abroad,” said Nguyen Duc Tam, general director of VietJetAir.
