The objective of the campaign is to protect the city’s environment and preserve the abundantly beautiful ecosystem of Nha Trang. Hotel employees have volunteered to snorkel and collect trash from the waters around Hon Mun Island, a prime diving and snorkelling site in Nha Trang Bay.
Due to its proximity to hot-sea currents, Nha Trang’s sea bed is home to an abundant and diverse group of marine species. The campaign has received great support from local diving centre Rain Bow Divers, which provided all the snorkelling equipment through its sponsorship.
“InterContinental Nha Trang believes we have the responsibility to respect the nature, heritage and communities of this area. We believe that incorporating societal and environmental factors into our business strategy and operations will play a vital role in the long-term viability of our business and the tourism industry overall,” said Pascal Caubo, general manager of InterContinental Nha Trang.
“Whilst tourism plays a large role in both the local and national economy, our industry faces increasing pressure to balance our economic performance with our social and environmental impact,” he said.
