Vietnam-Mexico two-way trade increases

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Mexico reached more than $915 million in 2010, a year-on-year increase of nearly 28 per cent.

Mexico remains one of Vietnam ’s important trading partners in Latin America, the Trade Office of the Vietnamese embassy in Mexico and the Mexican Ministry of Economy announced on April 9.

Of the trade value, Vietnam exported goods worth nearly $836 million to Mexico , up more than 36 percent. Its main export products were garments, footwear, seafood, printing machines, machinery, electrical equipment, children’s toys, sports equipment and wooden furniture.

Vietnam imported nearly $80 million worth of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronic spare parts, scrap steel and plastic, cotton, fish paste and beer, down nearly 22 per cent compared to the previous year.
