The roundtable was chaired by Ramu Damodaran, editor-in-chief of the Chronicles magazine of the UN and chief of Academic Impact of the United Nations, and saw the participation of many experts and professors.

The key participants of the roundtable came from Michael Dukakis Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and Binh Thuan authorities.

The roundtable’s participants discussed the typical city of the world in 2045 – the 100th birthday of the UN. The proposed model would be a connection between NovaWorld Phan Thiet and the AI World Society (AIWS) City, a combination of a virtual and a real city. They also discussed solutions to make Phan Thiet a leading destination in the region and the world for meeting, incentives, conferencing, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism.

According to Michael Dukakis, former governor of Massachusetts and president of Boston Global and Michael Dukakis Institute, AIWS City will create awards to honour new ideas, initiatives, and solutions by thinkers and creators to build a civilised, prosperous, peaceful, and happy world.

“We are glad to collaborate with NovaWorld Phan Thiet and the World Leadership Alliance Club de Madrid to organise a range of significant events. Especially, the Phan Thiet Conference which will be held in 2022 will be the foundation to make Phan Thiet a target destination for MICE activities of the whole world,” said Dukakis.

Meanwhile, Bui Thanh Nhon, chairman of Novaland Group shared that the company was welcoming the international community of professors, leaders, AI and digital technology experts, and representatives from the UN.

“This network will help make Phan Thiet city a model for the whole world. We hope that in 2045, when the UN celebrates the 100th anniversary of its establishment, Vietnam will have a new and innovative destination for the international community,” he said.

The UN 2045 is an initiative of the UN Academic Impact in collaboration with the Boston Global Forum.

Phan Thiet city is internationally known as a paradise resort with the full potential for tourism development.

Le Tuan Phong, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee said that the province has set the target that by 2030 Phan Thiet will be a desirable tourism and resort destination meeting the purposes of sea tourism, entertainment, adventure tourism and sports, cultural and spiritual tourism, healthcare, and especially MICE services.

The province has been receiving support from strategic investors such as the cooperation from McKinsey & Company which provides consultancy to Binh Thuan to draw up development plans for its tourism industry.

In Phan Thiet city, Novaland is developing the 1,000-hectare NovaWorld Phan Thiet project. With a total investment of nearly $5 billion, NovaWorld Phan Thiet will offer hundreds of outstanding facilities and will be one of the most outstanding smart cities of the whole country when it comes into operation.

NovaWorld Phan Thiet cooperates with Michael Dukakis Institute to become a place to announce and declare new achievements, people with outstanding contributions to the history of AI and digital economy, declare the excellent lectures of the world's leaders, thinkers, and creators, and declare new initiatives, ideas, and solutions to build a more civilised and prosperous world.
