On February 17 Tencent Cloud, the cloud business of global technology company Tencent, announced its collaboration with education and training provider KinderWorld International Group in smart campus development, innovation, and digitalisation, as well as training development in the education sector in Southeast Asia.
The strategic cooperation marks both parties’ intention to leverage technologies provided by Tencent Cloud for the development of smart campuses for schools under KinderWorld.
To achieve their mutual goals, Tencent Cloud and KinderWorld aim to explore the use of solutions and platforms such as campus security, smart technologies, and video and streaming to enable teaching and learning, as well as promote and conduct training courses for talent development while advancing innovation via the potential deployment of a smart education content management system.
According to the report by Research and Markets, the edtech and smart classroom market size, which was estimated at roughly $83.5 billion in 2020, is expected to reach about $241.5 billion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of about 19.3 per cent.
