Sustainable development workshop opens in Hanoi

About 300 economists and development experts participated in a workshop in Hanoi this morning.

During the conference, entitled "Trade policies for sustainable development in Vietnam in the period 2011-2020," participants discussed how best to promote rapid economic and sustainable development in Vietnam over the next decade.

Attendees debated how to boost exports, control imports and reduce the trade deficit, while promoting environmental protection and tackling social issues.

The conference was jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Multilateral Trade Assistance Project and the Viet Nam Institute for Trade.
