SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 to reaffirm Vietnam's semiconductor ambitions

On November 7 and 8, SEMI, a leading microelectronics industry association, together with the National Innovation Centre, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, will host the SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi.

According to SEMI, as the global semiconductor industry continues to expand rapidly, Vietnam is emerging as a promising destination in the field, with a bright growth outlook. Vietnam's semiconductor market is projected to reach $7.01 billion by 2028, with an average annual growth rate of 6.69 per cent from 2023 to 2028.

SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 is expected to serve as a platform for discussions on how local enterprises can elevate Vietnam's position in the global semiconductor supply chain.

The exhibition will pull in participation from major global and Vietnamese semiconductor technology corporations, including Global Foundries, Amkor, AMD, Lam Research, Coherent, Cadence, Qualcomm, Intel, Marvell, Onsemi Qorvo, and FPT, hence, creating a rare opportunity for companies within the semiconductor value chain, from assembly and testing to design and chip manufacturing, to showcase Vietnam's business environment, investment potential, and the development of its semiconductor industry.

Moreover, the event will offer Vietnamese enterprises the chance to update themselves on the latest global technology trends in the semiconductor sector, including the application of AI in chip design.

In addition, the expo will provide a platform for businesses to engage in dialogue with the National Steering Committee on Semiconductor Industry Development, the Minister of Planning and Investment, and other government agencies to foster the growth of Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem and workforce.

The two-day event will feature conferences, exhibitions, workshops, business networking programmes, and sector-specific connection sessions.
