South Korean food maker Daesang Corporation has expanded its production facilities in Vietnam to satisfy the increasing local demand for Korean food products.

Daesang Duc Viet JSC held an opening ceremony for Hung Yen Factory No. 2 on May 13, marking a new milestone in its production expansion.

Nguyen Thi Tam Tinh has been selected by authorities in Seoul to become the first foreigner with Korean citizenship to receive the prestigious Daesang award in recognition of her dedication to charitable activities.

Starting with an initial investment of just VND2 billion ($88,106), after 16 years of operation, Duc Viet Food JSC, known by its familiar brand name Duc Viet Sausage, was successfully acquired by Daesang Group of South Korea for a total purchase price of VND700 billion ($30.84 million). Hua Xuan Sinh, vice chairman of the Board of Directors cum general director of Duc Viet since establishment, has shared three tips that helped the company achieve miracle growth. South Korean food-producing conglomerate Daesang Corp. Has completed the acquisition of a 99.99 per cent stake in Vietnamese meat processor and distributor Duc Viet Food Joint Stock Company for $32 million in September, fetching the Korean company a bridgehead in the Southeast Asian meat processing market.

Daesang Corp, a South Korean food-making conglomerate, has yet to complete its purchase of an almost full stake in Vietnamese sausage producer Đức Việt Food Joint Stock Company, which was rumored to be finished by August 5.
