KinderWorld first took part in Swing for the Kids in 2013, with a view to helping poor students in need |
Established in the country in 2000, KinderWorld Education Group regards sustainability and social commitment as fundamental aspects of education investment and development.
“Our aim here is not only to build new schools and offer effective study experiences for students, but also to contribute to sustainable development of communities,” said Ricky Tan, CEO and chairman of KinderWorld.
Over the past 19 years, the group has offered forward-looking educational institutions embracing innovative teaching styles in creative and challenging environments. Each centre promotes life-long learning, enabling students to reach their full potential.
KinderWorld has had direct involvement in diverse charity events that demonstrate their social responsibility to the local community. Since KinderWorld first took part in VIR’s Swing for the Kids charity golf event in 2013, the group has granted more than 30 scholarships annually so far, with the majority of them going to disadvantaged students across Vietnam.
Additionally, with tourism and hospitality on the rise, KinderWorld has been offering cookery and patisserie training courses, and more recently, beverage courses, to young people. After merely three months of training, students have gained basic skills to help find jobs at the major restaurants and hotels in Hanoi and Danang, along with other locations where the group implements courses.
As part of KinderWorld’s complete approach to education the group has created a new education model, Outward Bound Vietnam, which is at the forefront of experiential adventure-based learning in Vietnam. It aims to promote interpersonal, leadership, and survival skills, as well as instil social and environmental responsibility through unique outdoor experiences.
KinderWorld Education director Nguyen Huong Lan said, “We will soon hand out Outward Bound scholarships to children. Currently, we are operating the first campus of Outward Bound Vietnam in Binh Dinh province but in the near future, Halong will welcome another Outward Bound centre.”
As a leading education and training provider from kindergarten through to university, KinderWorld Education helps to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to integrate and continue their studies in universities around the world. The group operates under its unique philosophy of promoting eastern values within a western education framework in order to produce global citizens.
The group also aims to further develop its educational programmes by establishing Pegasus International College, promoting the development of knowledge and skills from a global perspective and fostering globally-competent graduates.
Ngo Trung Ha, director of Pegasus International College, said, “As a sponsor for training courses, we always emphasise the value of our courses towards disadvantaged children through their true stories. Last year, via VIR’s Swing for the Kids, we partnered Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and gave three street children who had mental health and perception problems the chance to take courses at Pegasus. After the course, they became more confident and ready for the world, with a thoughtful mind and competent working style. Besides professional skills, we also teach them to be a model and sensible citizen.”
According to Ha, they also granted scholarships in universities and colleges, in particular the Hanoi Metropolitan University, where 50 students who took Pegasus courses have all been employed in five-star hotels.
Ricky Tan added, “We believe that well-educated and responsible people are the most valuable asset to a country or company. This is reflected in our commitment to provide high-quality international education programmes and dual badge qualifications for students. As a long-term investor in Vietnam, KinderWorld will continue to contribute to the development of sustainable and quality human capital in this country.”
