Dung’s name is flashed up in lights

Chu Tien Dung, chairman of Quang Trung Software City Development Company Limited (QTSC), has been recognised as one of 12 most outstanding chief information officers at the ASEAN-CIO AWARDS 2011.

Dung has greatly contributed to the development of QTSC, especially in information technology (IT) applications.

Specially, withthe project "Cloud computing technology to build data centre infrastructure which provide services for IT applications (e-government) of Ho Chi Minh City and IT enterprises", QTSC became a provider based on cloud computing technology in Vietnam, changing attitudes and business processes of IT service providers.

The purpose of this project is to take advantage of QTSC to focus on customers implementing IT applications in state agencies and to provide similar services to businesses in and outside QTSC.

Besides, under his leadership, QTSC also received the ISO 27001:2005 certificate for data security in March, 2011.

Dungis a member of the steering committee to establish QTSC (2000). He worked as deputy CEO and CEO from 2000 to 2010. At the present, he is chairman of QTSC.

The awards are under the initiative of International Data Group (IDG Vietnam) in conjunction with National Steering Committee on Information and Communication Technologies, ministries of Information and Communications, and Home Affairs and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to recognise outstanding chief information officers whose practical initiatives and leadership have greatly contributed to the development of their organisations and of socio-economics.
