On August 22, Casper Vietnam, together with Dan Tri newspaper, organised the award ceremony for the winners of the Save Electric: Cool Idea competition, which was kicked off by Casper in June.
After filtering the 452 entries, the Organising Board selected the ones that would receive the second and third-place awards for their ideas to either save power or inspire the community.
Due to the high quality of the entries, it was a challenge to select the best one. Thus, the board decided to spend the entire VND100 million – the value of the highest prize – on a project to build a bridge in Dong Cau commune in Can Tho city, allowing students to get to school more easily.
A representative of Casper said, "This is the company motto at Casper Vietnam. We desire to give wings and create opportunities for the country’s future generations to go to school, learn, create, and contribute to society."
The competition was kicked off in early June as the energy shortage impacted people's lives, requiring them to enhance their awareness and use electricity more efficiently.
The Organising Board received nearly 500 entries, with the youngest candidate being four years old and from Ho Chi Minh City, and the oldest being 81 years old and from Tien Giang province.
Along with individual entries, the competition attracted ideas from many groups, such as the National Economics University, Foreign Trade University, and Vietnam Electricity, among others. One idea was even presented over 30 pages.
“Saving electricity is a positive solution to harmonise supply and demand, contributing to the effort to protect the environment and avoid any energy wastage. Through the competition, Casper Vietnam wanted to inspire the country and establish greater awareness of this issue,” the representative of Casper Vietnam added.
At the award ceremony, the company introduced the Casper Chance for the Future Generations programme, which is based on three key backbones, namely supporting education and knowledge sharing, supporting disadvantaged individuals in mountainous and remote areas, and inspiring healthy lifestyles among the younger generation.
The company also organises many corporate social responsibility activities, such as the initiative to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Training to sponsor a smart television for a school in Meo Vac.
The Casper brand was first presented in Vietnam in 2016, and its air conditioners have dominated the first position in the air conditioner market share for three consecutive months, namely May, June, and July, according to statistics from GfK – an international market research company. The company’s televisions also rank in the top five in terms of international brands with the largest market share in Vietnam.
