The signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement took place on August 23, 2017 and marks the official launching of Apax Franklin Co., Ltd. with its Apax Franklin Academy system in Vietnam. This is a joint venture between Franklin Virtual Schools/Franklin Learning Centres (Franklin) from the US and Apax Holding JSC (Apax Holdings), a subsidiary of Vietnamese Egroup JSC.

Apax Franklin is the first academic system in Vietnam to provide students from grade nine to grade twelve with high school and pre-university courses based on the blended-learning model—the combination of online teaching and direct support from Apax Franklin’s branches located in Vietnam.

Distinguished guests attending the ceremony

By attending Apax Franklin Academy, high school students can get US-standard degrees while living in Vietnam, with flexible learning schedules and at a reasonable cost. It is estimated that these courses are about 30 per cent cheaper than studying abroad. These degrees are recognised in the US as they were appraised by trusted educational organisations like SACS or AdvancED.

In addition, Apax Franklin Academy also focuses on pre-university students, offering numerous programmes of English as Second Language (ESL), English Language Enrichment (ELE), and preparation for SAT/ACT/GED. Furthermore, the academy brings about opportunities to study in the US for high school and pre-university students via short-term and long-term cultural exchange programmes and counselling services for studying and looking for scholarships in the US.

Egroup's chairman Nguyen Ngoc Thuy

At the ceremony, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, Egroup’s chairman, said, “In the context of international integration, we have more chances to approach and learn new knowledge, as well as to build international relationships. We believe that technology will be the basic foundation to develop an efficient learning method to keep up with new trends in the era of globalisation. Thus, by developing the Apax Franklin Academy system, we expect that this learning programme will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for their studies in the US and Europe in the future, as well as help them familiarise themselves with the new environment, while still in Vietnam at the most reasonable cost.”

Franklin's chairman cum CEO David Hooser

At the same time, David Hooser, chairman cum CEO of Franklin, also talked about the two companies’ shared goals. “We and Egroup share a vision, one world and our kids learning together, that will bring this world to a place in the future it could never reach otherwise.”

With the degrees recognised by trusted educational organisations in the US and the whole world, the education programmes offered by Apax Franklin will help Vietnamese students to break into reputed universities in the US, the UK, Australia, as well as other countries with innovative education systems all around the world.

Established in 2009, Franklin’s education programmes have attracted more than four billion students from over 100 countries. Most of these students come from countries with strict education standards, such as the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Japan.

Franklin supplies various education programmes mainly for high school and pre-university students between the ages of 15 and 18. Franklin’s programmes and the related degrees are recognised by the US government and AdvancED, a reputed appraisal organisation.

Regarding Apax Holdings, this Egroup subsidiary works in the field of education with the chain of Apax English, Apax Igarten, and, recently, Apax Franklin. Apax Holdings was listed on the UPCoM with the ticker IBC. It is expected that Apax Holdings will be listed on HoSE in the third quarter of 2017.

During the period of 2017-2018, Apax Holdings plans to continue developing its chains of Apax English and Apax Igarten. Meanwhile, it will continue the cooperation with its parent company Egroup to finish Education Park, a popular academy model of training and ecological education in the world.
