BNP Paribas and VietJetAir have concluded an agreement wherein BNP is assigned to manage the financing for the new aircrafts that VietJetAir will receive in 2014.

BNP Paribas is a leading international bank in aviation finance, serving 128 airlines and aircraft leasing firms. In 2012 and 2013, the bank helped consulting and financing for 125 aircrafts, which resulted in revenue of $7.4 billion for the bank in 2012.

This agreement is another VietJetAir’s step towards the commitment of the 100 aircraft order with Airbus in France last September. Hence, contributing to the regional expansion plan of VietJetAir and, in particular, the building of the most modern and sophisticated fleet in Asia-Pacific.

“Air transport has been a vital part of the economy in Vietnam and an important foundation for the development of the country. As a result, we are glad to be appointed as the financier for the order of VietJetAir with Airbus. We are excited and looking forwards to see the very first aircrafts in this order, which will be due for delivery in the next 10 or 11 months” said Nicolas Parrot, head of Aviation Finance Group Asia Pacific of BNP Paribas.
