>> Toyota makes U-turn on car check-ups
The apology was released two weeks after the technical mistakes were unveiled by Toyota’s engineer Le Van Tach, raising concerns for customers driving Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner vehicles.
Those include rear wheel brake cylinder pressure out of standard, Striker bolt N.8 tightening torque reduction and Camber tightening before suspension high adjusted.
This is also the first time the Japanese carmaker has admitted mistakes on Toyota Fortuner model. Previously, it said the mistakes occurred only on Toyota Innova J provided to taxi groups.
“Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) would like to express our sincere apology to all our dear customers for making you be worried about the three quality issues provided by an TMV engineer to the mass media recently,” the firm said in an announcement.
