KinderWorld Education Group on April 9 broke ground on the Singapore Mixed Education Development in Halong city of the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Built on a 7.1 hectare land site at Halong Marina Urban Area developed by BIM Group’s Syrena Vietnam in Hung Thang ward, KinderWorld Education Group’s new project has the total value of VND270 billion ($12.1 million).

Commencing August 2016, phase 1 of the project includes KinderWorld International Kindergarten, the group’s pilot Pre-school Education Research Centre and Singapore International School, offering educational programmes from Nursery to Year 3 initially. This research centre will serve as a laboratory kindergarten where research on advanced early childhood education curriculum and methodology will be undertaken by local and international education experts.

Additional educational facilities for Singapore International School and student dormitories for 2,000 students will be added in phases 2, 3 and 4 to further extend the range of educational programmes to university foundation programme and higher education. The student accommodation will be for students not only in Quang Ninh but also from surrounding provinces.

A strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between KinderWorld Education Group and BIM Group’s Syrena Vietnam on the same day.
