Company confirmed to be supplying fake food supplements

The Food Safety Department under the Health Ministry has announced that all 14 samples of food supplements taken from the Hà Nội-based Slim HMN Việt Nam Ltd Company are substandard.

The Hà Nội police and market watch agencies have discovered a large quantity of substandard food supplements being supplied by the Slim HMN Việt Nam Ltd Company.-Photo baohaiquan.vn

The samples were provided by the Hà Nội Market Watch Department and tested by the National Institute for Food Control.

The samples comprised those labeled Glucosamine Sit 1600, Collagen L-Glutathione, Collagen USA and Glucosamin USA, as well as Plus Min UAS, Shark Cartilage, Enzymes and Firmer, along with Royal Jelly DHA, Pita Wall Vitamin, Glucosamine schitnew and Nick Bon, in addition to Royal Jelly Plus and Royal Jelly Nono.

The National Steering Committee against Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeiting will impose penalties on the company based on the test results.

Late last month, police and market management agencies in Hà Nội discovered 9,924 food supplement products at the HMN Vietnam Ltd. Company’s headquarters and stores in Thanh Trì District. The company failed to show any bill proving the certificate or origin of the products. The police found products that were packed, labeled and even had import stamps stuck on them.

The police also confiscated some 1,900kg of empty plastic boxes and bottles without any labels.
