The investment was made after Vuihoc raised $6 million in its latest funding round, led by TNB Aura, last year. The move aims to tap into the skyrocketing demand for IELTS in Vietnam.
The IELTS Workshop is an English teaching chain run by Dang Tran Tung, who has years of experience in IELTS test preparation. He also achieved a perfect score of 9.0 in all four IELTS skills. After seven years of development, the chain has 11 IELTS language centres nationwide.
According to Do Ngoc Lam, CEO of Vuihoc, Vuihoc's technology and AI strengths will be combined with the experience and programmes from the IELTS Workshop through this strategic investment cooperation. Vuihoc hopes to jointly create quality IELTS training programmes that are a reliable choice for students in all regions of the country to enjoy high-quality education at a reasonable cost.
The strategic investment cooperation between Vuihoc and The IELTS Workshop will take place in early June. Accordingly, both sides will bring in the IELTSPEED course for students. Unlike the conventional course, this new course applies AI to create a virtual environment for learners to improve the four IELTS skills. IELTSPEED also offers a personalised learning process and a team of quality teachers who score IELTS 8.0 and above.
IELTS scores are a potential door to overseas work and study, entrance to academic programmes, and one of the most widely recognised ways of measuring English proficiency worldwide. IELTS has grown quickly in Vietnam over the past few years, together with a whole industry dedicated to offering candidates the best, quickest, and cheapest ways to achieve their desired band score.
