The event, titled “Autonomous Technology and Smart Transportation”, will be the chance for Phenikaa Group to bring autonomous technology closer to the Vietnamese people as the company desires to assist the development of smart cities and people in the era of Industry 4.0.
At the event, Phenikaa Group will also present Vietnam’s first level-4 smart self-driving vehicle that is built by people and technologies of the group. The convention and introduction of the self-driving vehicle will take place at Phenikaa University in Yen Nghia ward in Hanoi’s suburban district of Hadong.
The international convention is organised by Phenikaa Group (A&A Green Phoenix Group JSC) and its members including Phenikaa Research and Technology Institute (PRATI), Phenikaa University, and Phenikaa-X JSC, in co-operation with the Global Research Institute for Mobility in Society (GREMO), Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Association for Overseas Technical Co-operation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

The event will welcome leaders of the ministries of Education and Training, Information and Communications, Science and Technology, and Industry; leaders of provincial people committees; domestic and overseas institutes, universities, enterprises, and specialists; and market-leading automobile producers Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Tier IV; and Nagoya University.
The specialists and officials will share the ideas and discuss the advantages and challenges in the development of smart cities and smart transportation as well as deliver the forecasts on the future of autonomous technology, smart city development, and living conditions.
The event will also be highlighted by the showcase and demonstration of Vietnam’s first “Make-in-Vietnam” smart autonomous vehicle, which is developed by Phenikaa-X JSC, a member to Phenikaa Group, and a startup business founded by Phenikaa University’s chairman Dr. Ho Xuan Nang and Dr. Le Anh Son.

The vehicle features smart qualities of AI, 2D/3D map, Lidar sensor, machine learning, and more. In addition, Phenikaa Group will present a super smart transportation application initiated by member Phenikaa MAAS.
The convention, expected to become “the space of innovation”, aims to facilitate domestic and international specialists, professionals, and enterprises to talk about autonomous technology and solutions, practices, challenges and obstacles for smart transportation and smart cities.
Leveraging the practical inputs, the event organisers hope relevant state agencies and the government would come up with appropriate policies to foster the growth of autonomous sector and materialise the applicability of autonomous technologies in the era of Industry 4.0.
Moving forward, the event marks a big step in Phenikaa Group’s journey to become a leading technological-industrial corporation as the introduction of the self-driving vehicle attests to the group’s competency in science and technology research and development.
The new product also proves that Phenikaa Group’s operation is getting more competitive, sustainable, and environmentally friendly based on the spirit of limitless innovation and endeavour to create a smarter, better life, balance the interests of stakeholders, and contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development.
