MoT requires creation of hot lines for waterway transport
Minister of Transport Trương Quang Nghĩa has asked transport departments in cities and provinces to set up hot lines at domestic ports, wharfs, as well as on boats and ships, to allow the public to submit complaints and other information.

The hotlines would receive information or accept complaints from the public about waterway services. Complaints would be handled quickly, he added.
The request to set up hotlines was made after a tourist boat capsized in central Đà Nẵng City on June 4, killing three people and injuring several others.
The boat was reportedly carrying 56 passengers, though it only had a capacity to transport 28. The boat was found to have been operating illegally and the boat’s captain was detained after the accident.
