Coming from a family with rich cultural traditions, Nguyen Khai Hoan, founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Khai Hoan Land Real Estate JSC, has been initiating a series of activities and community projects that have received an enthusiastic response from the community.

The Khai Hoan Bookcase project was established with a practical meaning and the desire to transmit the culture of reading to everyone, aiming to spread the spirit of book lovers to the Vietnamese community.

In the past year, Khai Hoan Land has successfully planned and organised a festival to read and exchange books and donate bookcases to primary schools in Binh Phuoc province, book libraries to Da Mi Binh Thuan Secondary School, and more.

According to Hoan, the humanistic values in books need to be widely spread to the community, contributing to changing the thoughts and views of people in mountainous areas, thereby promoting the development of a powerful and self-sufficient country.

The chairman of Khai Hoan Land commits to further developing the Khai Hoan Bookcase project in many more remote and rural areas to play a part in driving community development.

The current situation of developing a reading culture in remote areas of Vietnam

Developing all aspects of life, especially reading culture in the community, is an issue that has always received the profound attention of the Party and the state.

There have been many guidelines, policies, and documents on conveying the message of reading culture to children across all regions of the country. Developing this culture for children in rural areas is one of the leading criteria of the Party in its plans and programmes.

However, although many guidelines and policies are in place, the current situation of reading culture has not yet received due attention in some areas, especially in remote locations.

Under tough circumstances, not many books have reached the children, making their access to knowledge very limited.

The desire to spread the culture to the regions of hardy Vietnamese enterprises

Many regions in Vietnam are facing a shortage of quality books which further arouses the desire for Vietnamese children, especially those in mountainous areas, to want to expand their knowledge with new and novel books.

Many individuals and organisations with compassionate hearts have been carrying out fund-raising campaigns to provide these children with new sources of knowledge, arousing an endless passion for each letter.

Those individuals and organisations have contributed to cultivating the knowledge foundation for the future generations of the country through the smallest acts.

In this way, it has brought to children who are living in difficult economic conditions a wealth of new knowledge, contributing to building a solid foundation for the development of the country.

Many programmes and projects with meaningful messages have been created such as the Reading Culture Ambassador contest which has quickly attracted the attention of many readers and reached millions of Vietnamese children.

Initiating the book donation movement, Tien Cookie – an award-winning singer and composer – has used her reputation to donate books, creating a mini library to meet the reading needs of many people who still face difficulties in accessing new knowledge.

Along with Cookie, there have been many individuals and organisations who have created similar projects to give away millions of books and inspired children to read.
