The workshop demonstrated the practical benefits of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to enterprises, including more efficient use and flexible control of capital and human resources as well as supporting leaders in decision making and transitioning management methods of enterprises toward following international standards.
U Nyan Tun Oo, Yangon region’s Minister for Electricity and Industry, participated in the workshop and emphasised the importance of innovation in managing domestic enterprise, as countries move onto the international stage.
FPT Myanmar chairman Hoang Minh Chau, said that the country was seeing tremendous growth opportunities and that its enterprises have a responsibility to encourage and accelerate the process. Chau stressed the importance of management capability and the challenges a business can face if their executives do not understand the international sphere.
“In our endeavours to contribute to Myanmar’s development through co-operation, FPT has established a representative office in Myanmar. We look forward to working with the country’s IT companies in using IT solutions in business activities based on our capabilities and experiences with partners SAP and Oracle,” Chau said.
Officially licensed in July, FPT Myanmar announced it wanted to cooperate with the government and computer associations in the fields of software outsourcing, systems integration, IT training, enterprise management, and consultancy services to further develop the software industry and create greater employment and opportunities in the country.
Under the ‘on-the-job-training’ model, FPT Myanmar hopes to help the country in training a large number of qualified IT engineers to meet growing human resources demands.
ERP is a multi-module software application that helps enterprises effectively manage their resources and operations. It offers managers easy reviewable access to various areas of the business including accounting and finance, distribution, customer relationships, and forecasting and reporting tools. The workshop also introduced the DMS (Distributor Management System), another IT solution for enterprise management.
DMS offers companies an end-to-end solution through a chain of distributors that includes sales processes, controlling distribution, maintaining optimal inventory, and improving speed to market. Notably, this solution improves the performance of sales staff who often use smartphones and tablets.
