Economic growth and increased levels of consumer demand are some of the factors stimulating development within the domestic printing and packing industry. With that in mind, robotics multinational ABB will be one of the key headliners facing these factors head-on at this week’s ProPak Vietnam 2019 event.

ABB is excited to display its world-class robotics solutions at ProPak Vietnam 2019

Between March 19 and 21, ABB will be demonstrating its leading industrial robotics technologies at the event, billed as the largest international processing and packaging exhibition held in the Indochina region.

Taking place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), ProPak Vietnam 2019 features a strong line-up of products, as well a raft of seminars and marginal activities. The event is due to attract more than 540 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions, while receiving enthusiastic co-operation from countries such as Germany, South Korea, Singapore, and Italy.

As part of their demonstration, ABB will be showcasing its sophisticated digital services. Being delivered through MyRobot, ABB AbilityTM Connected Services make data accessible anywhere with updates available anytime to optimise performance. These are part of a 24/7 interconnected ecosystem which aim to

reshape the way the world perceives manufacturing automation, with a number of innovative solutions to meet the unique demands of each facility.

Through the services, customers will reduce 25 per cent less incidents and enjoy a 60 per cent faster response time and issue recovery, according to the group.

These sophisticated services already supports many fabric manufacturing plants and have recently been successfully connected to ABB robots used at the nation’s most modern e-scooter manufacturing facility.

Featuring a wide range of Industry 4.0 compatible portfolios such as conditioning monitoring and diagnostics, fleet assessment, asset optimisation, and back-up management, the services ensure a faster reaction time, higher efficiency, and better service technician preparation for on-site calls and support, ultimately helping customers to maintain robot systems at optimal performance.

The group’s display this year will also include both the IRB1200 and IRB360 FlexPicker, a series that helps manufacturers pick, pack, and transport with greater speed to meet the increasingly diverse needs of consumers amid shorter product cycles.

In addition, the YuMi will once again be on display. The world’s first dual arm collaborative robot impressed thousands of visitors at the exhibition last year, and the cutting-edge solution will be showcasing why it is suitable for manufacturers in the electronics industry. During this year’s exhibition, YuMi’s connection with the ABB AbilityTM Connected Services will also be displayed.

ABB began its operations in Vietnam in 1993. Over the last 25 years, it has grown to become a reliable partner in the field of technology, providing turnkey solutions and services in the market. The group’s robotics technologies are already widely used in the country’s industries including electronics, animal feed, food and beverages, fertiliser, chemicals, automotive, metal fabrication, and brick manufacturing. ABB, which recently supplied thousands of robots to an electronics manufacturer, employs some 900 employees across Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
