Coastal Khanh Hoa popular with Russian tourists

So far this year, the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has welcomed 383,000 tourists from overseas, a year on year increase of 27 per cent, with the 50,000 Russian tourists making up the largest group from any one country.

According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Khanh Hoa expects to receive 550,000 overseas arrivals this year, a rise of 10 per cent over its set target.

The provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with local agencies on October 11 to discuss security measures in the tourism sector, especially for visitors from abroad.

As of October 25, the scheduled flights that bring visitors from the Far Eastern region of Russia to the central coastal region through Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa will increase from 7-9 flights a week to 21 to meet the increasing demand of Russian visitors during their winter holidays.

Since it was launched in October last year, the service has carried 60,000 Russian tourists to Vietnam’s central and southern regions, 60-70 per cent of whom chose Nha Trang as their destination.
