Bosch Vietnam Limited, a leading global supplier of technology and services, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International University under the Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City yesterday to cooperate in training, research and recruitment.

Specifically, the firm will support the university to organise trips for students to its production facilities, provide them with internship opportunities and fund their research projects. The objectives are to help students practice what they have learned and participate in certain research projects at Bosch.

Ho Thanh Phong, president of International University, said the university wants to build strong links with businesses and train students to meet requirements of employers and support the country’s development.

The university is looking to partner with enterprises to enable its lecturers and students to sharpen their knowledge and skills and find more research topics.

Vo Quang Hue, managing director of Bosch Vietnam, said the MOU with International University is the company’s further contribution to supporting Vietnam’s educational development and promoting Vietnamese talents.

“Our business in Vietnam as well as in the whole Asia has been growing constantly. The project will help us and our partner the International University in human resources training to meet growing market demands. It will also help the bachelors and master degree holders find suitable jobs quickly after graduation,” said Hue.

As part of the cooperation agreement, Bosch will give scholarships to students with good academic results and excellent research proposals. Besides to this, the two sides had agreed to consider support proposals on building more material base to service the learning and scientific research activities at the International University in the future.

In Vietnam, Bosch already launched an important milestone activity for the educational system in 2013 by cooperating with Lilama2 Technical and Technology College in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The Technical Industrial Apprenticeship programme (TGA) combines theoretical training at Lilama2 with hands-on work experience at Bosch.

A total of 46 apprentices are attending the TGA programmes. Upon graduation, apprentices will be awarded a certificate jointly issued by the German Industry and Commerce and Lilama2.

Through the recent move, Bosch has affirmed its commitment of growing into one of the leading hi-tech investors in Vietnam.
