A fall-back in newly-established enterprises in July

The number of newly-established enterprises fell by 29.4 per cent during the month between June 20 and July 20 compared to the period between May 20 and Juny 20, according to data released by the Business Registration Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

A number of 6,598 enterprises with the total capital of VND38.9 trillion ($1.78 billion) were established during this period, a decrease of 29.4 per cent in number and 38.4 per cent in capital, respectively.

Between July 1, when the new laws on Enterprise and Investment came into effect, and July 20, 4,091 enterprises were established with the total capital of VND23.1 trillion ($1.06 billion), including 4,087 domestic and four foreign enterprises.

The number of newly-established enterprises decreased in July, but in the first seven months of this year more than 52,000 enterprises were established, with the total capital of VND321.3 trillion ($14.73 billion), up 22.7 per cent in number of enterprises and 22.4 per cent in capital on-year.

Furthermore, in the first seven months of the year 12,749 existing enterprises increased their capital by VND365.2 trillion ($16.74 billion). Thus, the total of newly-registered and additional capital has so far was VND686.4 trillion ($31.5 billion).
