PTSC’s floating storage sells first oil shipment

The Floating Storage and Offloading Unit No. 5 (FSO-5) of the PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) has sold the first shipment of oil exploited from offshore Bach Ho oilfield.

The first batch of oil was pumped out at Block 09-1 of the Bach Ho oilfield on January 7 in the witness of representatives from the unit’s renter Vietnam-Russia Oil and Gas Joint Venture (Vietsovpetro), the independent inspectors EIC, and subcontractors.

FSO-5, known as PTSC Bach Ho, officially received the first flow of oil from the Bach Ho oilfield on November 8, 2010.

FSO-5 was built by the Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of the Vietnam National Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin).

It is the largest of oil floating storage in the country and the fifth owned and co-owned by PTSC.
