The robbery happened at the BIDV Ngoc Khanh branch, which is located at 27 Huynh Thuc Khang street, Dong Da district, Hanoi at around 9:45 AM.

According to preliminary investigation data, cash damage was roughly estimated at around VND942 million ($41,000).
After the robbery, the branch was temporarily closed so that the police could collect evidence and track down the robbers.
One of the witnesses said, “The masked robbers were carrying guns and threatened to shoot the staff if they so much as moved. Everyone was so scared.”
According to Vnexpress, one of the two robbers went behind the counters and threw the stacks of money he could find to his accomplice who put them into a backpack.

The man who collected the money also threw a black bag on the floor saying it was full of explosives and threatening to trigger them if anyone tried to fight back.
Then they took a plum-coloured motorcycle with the license plate 29X2-137 and drove towards Thang Long Boulevard.
At the moment, the two male suspects whose identities are unknown are sought by the local authorities.
