It now employs about 600 people at four factories. Sami Nour Kteily, general director of PEB Steel Buildings, said: “Our journey in Vietnam has been a very successful one, during which we have built four factories in Vietnam with a total fabrication capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year.”
PEB’s third factory was completed in 2009 and two years later, the fourth factory was put into operation in Dong Xuyen Industrial Park in Vung Tau City.
PEB Steel is a steel building manufacturing and construction company that specialises in design, fabrication and erection of pre-engineered steel buildings. It has produced thousands of successful projects for customers, Kteily said.
“What makes our journey remarkable,” Kteily said, “ is that every single year of these 18 years was a successful one and what makes it even more remarkable is that, despite the world financial crisis, we have achieved double digit growth in each of the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, bringing our sales turnover in Vietnam close to $50 million in 2012.”
Vietnam has also served as springboard for PEB Steel Buildings to expand its manufacturing facilities in Asia, with the company opening one big factory in India and another smaller one in Bangladesh, bringing up its total manufacturing capacity in Asia to 120,000 metric tonnes per year.
The company also opened during this period five regional offices in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines and Indonesia.
Kteily said that PEB is starting the year 2013 with a healthy backlog of sales orders that will soon translate into more orders of raw materials, welding materials, painting materials, logistics services, banking services and more consultancy services.
