Microsoft solutions meet marketing and media demands in digital era

Microsoft Vietnam today organised a workshop on their vision in modern marketing and media and in digital transformation in media industry.

The event featured Andrew Pickup, senior director of Communications, Microsoft Asia, Le Quoc Minh, editor- in- chief of Vietnam+, Jeremy Showalter, Marketing and Operations lead, Microsoft Vietnam and a number of local leaders and editors

With the theme “Marketing and Media in the new era, why Microsoft?”, the event seeks to bring about technology-led positive transformation by offering feasible solutions to modern marketing and media issues in the 4th industrial revolution.

The speakers presented about general organisational concerns, specific issues of media industry, Microsoft’s corresponding solutions and case studies at global, regional and national level.

In his opening speech, Andrew Pickup, senior director of Communications, Microsoft Asia , delivered a presentation about management challenges worldwide and in Asia, the demand for balance of execution and strategic vision.

He also talked about the actual demand led by digital revolution, the willingness for digital transformation of global organisations and media industry all over the world.

To demonstrate the cloud-based trend, he showcased real-life examples and success stories of applying cloud services into operations process of electronic government administration to the application at corporates, SMEs and startups in different sectors including designs, industries, agricultures, finances and sports.

Since 1989, Microsoft has led the technology-based industry in terms of building smart cloud platform for organisations of all sizes.

Microsoft currently owns more than 100 data centres and over one million servers all over the globe, is available in more than 100 countries and offers widely used platforms, solutions and cloud services such as Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, System Center, SQL Server and Dynamics.

Microsoft has been providing services to 85 per cent of Fortune 500 companies and building efficient operations models.

“The familiar Microsoft Office suites, with 1.2 billion users worldwide, has used technology effectively to empower every individual and organisation to do more and achieve more. Integrated with the user-friendly features of Office, cloud-based Office 365 has continued to be a popular platform for users to communicate and collaborate more easily and to suit work styles of the modern society,” Pickup said about Office 365, a cloud-based productivity platform.

In this new digital world, cloud computing will be the foundation where organisations of all sizes create their digital future.

With a unique cloud strategy spanning private cloud, public cloud and Software-as-a-Service, Microsoft is recognised by Gartner, a leading independent research and advisory firm, as the only vendor selected as a leader across 17 of their Magic Quadrants studies for enterprise cloud workloads.

This includes being a leader in Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, Cloud Storage Services, and Application Platform as a Service.

“When an organisation transform their systems into cloud-based systems, Microsoft products work well during the process regardless of the duration it takes and of the system the organisation uses, either traditional or the most modern cloud-based system,” said Hoang Minh Chinh, Microsoft Azure specialist, Microsoft Vietnam.

“In addition, thanks to advanced analysis for in-depth data, Microsoft is able to offer diverse data, which help approach the optimal number of users in the shortest time frame.

“In this regard, Microsoft’s objective is to provide such data extracted from big data to one billion users via user-friendly tools which could be tailored to be more flexible and secure for organizations,” added Hoang Song Nga, senior sub BG lead, Microsoft Vietnam in her presentation about SQL Server 2016, the highest ranked package in completeness of vision and ability to execute according to Gartner’s Magic Quadrant report for ODMS.

Le Quoc Minh, editor- in-chief of Vietnam+ exemplified the efficiency of applying technology to be creative and achieve success by sharing their initiatives over the last eight years.

In regards to the cooperation with Microsoft, Minh said “MSN.COM in Vietnam is an example to demonstrate our collaboration with Microsoft. Vietnam+ has been committed to co-building the Vietnamese version of MSN and we are proud to have brought better and more modern experience to Vietnamese readers.”
