Visa Infinite was designed to meet the requirements of a select group of upscale consumers, provides unparalleled services and benefits, said Stacey Pinkerd, Visa’s head of global consumer products strategy.
“Vietnam is one of the fastest growing markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The amount of upscale consumers here continually increases,” he added.
Visa Infinite is the top among Visa’s superior cards namely Platinum, Signature and Infinite. In Vietnam, the Sacombank Visa Infinite card has no credit limit and the minimum level is VND1 billion ($48,000 plus).
According to Visa, Sacombank accounts for up to 54 per cent of the firm’s Platinum card revenue in Vietnam.
Infinite cardholders can make purchases and pay later with interest free for 45 days. As for those who like shopping, Infinite offers different benefits instalment buying with 0 per cent interest rate, or discounts up to 50 per cent off the price when they buy food, fashion items and some services. The accident insurance for the cardholder is up to $1 million.
Visa International will release just 200 Infinite cards for Vietnam each year. As it introduced this card for the market, 100 holders of Platinum cards in Vietnam became Infinite cardholders via an upgrade.
Sacombank CEO Phan Huy Khang said his institution was targeting the 500 richest people in Vietnam’s stock market as would-be Infinite card customers.
