Gov't chief hails Hai Phong's FDI attraction figure

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday appreciated the efforts made by the port city of Hai Phong in creating an open environment conducive to business operations.

Speaking at the investment promotion conference there, the Government chief also spoke highly of the city’s achievement in luring foreign investment with over US$2.7 billion in the first six months this year.

Building a developmental and integrity Government to serve compatriots and businesses is a top priority of PM Phuc. He committed to doing his utmost to protect legitimate rights and interests of citizens and investors.

The city took the occasion to announce its establishment of a trade and investment promotion center as a bridge between the local authorities and investors.

It also granted business licenses and signed memoranda of understanding on investment with total value of US$12.8 billion, including US$6.6 billion from foreign investors.

On the occasion, the low-cost Vietjet Air also launched international flights from and to the Cat Bi International Airport in the city.
