Indian Embassy promotes quick impact projects in Lao Cai province

The ambassador and Lao Cai People’s Committee Chairman Trinh Xuan Truong witnessed the signing of an MoU between the Embassy of India and the provincial authorities for a project to construct classrooms for Trung Chai Kindergarten in Sapa, under the government of India’s Quick Impact Project programme.

The project, which will facilitate the education of more than 100 children in Sapa, has a total investment of nearly $100,000, half of which will be provided as grant assistance by the Indian government.

At the MoU signing ceremony, the ambassador highlighted that tangible and speedy delivery of grassroots infrastructure provided by Quick Impact Projects directly benefit the local community and would contribute to Vietnam’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

During the visit, the ambassador also met with Secretary of Lao Cai Party Committee Dang Xuan Phong, and held discussions on potential areas of cooperation between India and Lao Cai province. The visit was part of the embassy’s regular outreach to provinces of Vietnam and will pave the way for new cooperation between India and Lao Cai.
