Officially opened on September 20 with the theme of ”Packaging and Printing for the Future,” the four-day exhibition brings forward the latest technological innovations in line with Thailand’s 4.0 development plan amid big interest from MNCs.
The full spectrum of the pack and print value chain will come to life with in-demand machinery and 4.0-driven solutions presented by 300 exhibitors from 20 countries, including national pavilions and groups from Germany, Austria, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, and for the first-time, Singapore.
Held alongside is T-PLAS 2017, the international trade fair for the plastic and rubber industries. Both exhibitions emphasise the importance of cross-trade partnerships and will pave influential business connections in the synergistic packaging, printing, plastics, and rubber industries.
With the attractive opportunities that Thailand and the region offer to international players, a total of 550 companies from more than 24 countries have gathered at the two exhibitions. A series of concurrent seminars, conferences, technical presentations, and product demonstrations centred on the latest market trends and technological advancements will also be held over the four-day shows.
An Phat Mineral and Plastic JSC, Vietnam’s second biggest producer of plastic additive compounds, is one of the exhibitors, looking to expand trade in Thailand.
“We are looking for more business opportunities in Thailand, a market with great potential for us. Thailand is home to many producers of nylon bags, for instance,” Pham Van Khuong, sales director of An Phat Mineral and Plastic, told VIR.

At present, the Vietnamese firm produces solely for export, mostly to Asian markets and has several customers in Thailand and India.
According to Khuong, attending Pack Print International and other international trade fairs is a good channel for the firm to promote cross-trade partnerships. An Phat Mineral and Plastic earlier participated in similar events in Dubai, Africa, and China.
“We aim to produce high-quality products to export to more international markets in the future. We are planning to attend a trade fair in India next year,” he said.
Pack Print International also lured in many MNCs from the industry, including ABB Limited, SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, Acteca Terra GmbH, GEISS AG, Kodak, KURZ Thailand Ltd., and KBA Asia Pacific Sdn., Bhd.
