Representatives of KinderWorld Education Group and Vietnam Investment Review have awarded 36 Dream to Reality scholarships for students in hardship.

KinderWorld has participated in the Swing for the Kids Golf Charity Event for the last four years, and as a Gold Sponsor for the last two years, which saw the launch of the Dreams to Reality programme through its professional training arm Pegasus International UniCentre (PIU).

"This is the eighth consecutive year Vietnam Investment Review has organised the Swing for the Kids golf tournament with the total scholarship awarded totalling nearly VND8 billion. We express our thanks for the kind support of KinderWorld Education Group over the past four years, we believe that KinderWorld has continuously gained success in Vietnam and continues align with our programmes to help more and more students overcome their hardships to make their dreams come true," said VIR’s deputy editor-in-chief Do Xuan Khanh.

Following the success of Dreams to Reality in 2013, PIU has awarded 36 new scholarships worth VND324 million to provide students living in hardship from Hanoi, Danang and the surrounding provinces with basic skills to enable them to work in the hospitality industry. The Dreams to Reality scholarship provided a four-week Introduction to Culinary Arts course on Vietnamese cuisine delivered using contemporary methodology and learning materials following the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills Standards (VTOS). The course is delivered by highly skilled and professional lecturers who possess an enormous wealth of industry experience.

Lee Yee Hern, the group’s CFO said "seeing graduating students from the 2013 group in Hanoi fulfill their potential as a result of their training has been immensely rewarding for KinderWorld  and Pegasus  and reflects our standing in the community and our emphasis on corporate social responsibility. We are looking forward to seeing the Graduates of the 2014 groups realise their dreams and embark in employment or further education opportunities as a result of the Dreams to Reality programme."

During the course, students put their skills into practice using the latest equipment and facilities in an international learning environment. They learnt not only the basic knowledge and skills to organise and prepare a variety of Vietnamese dishes in a commercial kitchen but also practical and employment-related skills to meet the specific demands of the hospitality industry. The programme is aimed at supporting successful students in seeking job opportunities upon successful completion of the course.

"KinderWorld and Pegasus strongly support the purpose of such events organised by the VIR and thank them for allowing us to continue with our ongoing sponsorship," stressed Lee Yee Hern.

At the ceremony, scholarship-recipient Nguyen Duy Anh was moved to say "we show our deep gratitude to VIR, KinderWorld Education Group, Pegasus and other sponsors for their efforts to create for us a brighter future."
