Covering an area of 20.4 hectares, the factory has the total capital of VND3 trillion ($134.3 million). The project’s construction is divided into two phases and is expected to reach completion in September 2018.
The facility will be equipped with production lines employing the modern technology. Once the factory comes into operation, it will produce steel pipes, hot-dipped galvanised steel pipes, uPVC pipes and fittings, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes at an annual total capacity of over 800,000 tonnes of products for the northern region.
On January 8, 2016, the group started the construction of Hoa Sen Nhon Hoi steel sheet factory located in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, in the central province of Binh Dinh. The 12.4-hectare, $89 million facility is expected to commence operation in June, 2017, and supply 180,000 tonnes of galvanised steel sheets and zinc-aluminium alloys, 90,000 tonnes of colour-coated steel sheets and 200,000 tonnes of cold rolled steel units to the market.
In June 2015, Hoa Sen kicked-off the construction of a $229.3 million steel sheet factory in Dong Hoi Industrial Zone, located in the central province of Nghe An. The 35-hectare factory will be equipped with cold rolling mills with an annual capacity of one million tonnes, two galvanised steel production lines with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year, a coloured galvanised steel production line with an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes, and two CNC roll grinding machines. The factory is expected to manufacture its first products in March, 2016.
Furthermore, the group’s $109.5 million steel sheet factory in Nam Cam Industrial Zone, also in Nghe An province, has been in the construction stage since October 2014. The 12-hectare facility is expected to fully open in August 2018. The factory’s first phase became operational in June 2015.
The group’s products are currently marking up 40 per cent of the domestic steel sheet market and 20 per cent of the domestic steel market. Hoa Sen's products are present in over 60 countries and territories around the world.
