Ford Vietnam offers special benefits to institutional customers

Besides attracting individual customers, Ford Vietnam is stepping up efforts to expand its institutional customer base.

On January 30, Ford Vietnam held a ceremony to mark the sale of 120 Ford Ranger XLT to Viettel Telecom, which is going to use the cars in its operations in the south of Vietnam.

“I believe the Ford Rangers are going to be Viettel’s dependable companions and help the company overcome challenges,” Jesus Metelo Arias, Ford Vietnam’s managing director said.

Institutional customers will not only receive basic services but also special benefits and further assistance such as invitations to Ford events, brand building support, sales support, improved technical support and training in safety and energy saving.

About 100 companies in Vietnam are using the modified versions of the Ford Transit, Ford Ranger and Ford Everest as postal cars, electricity repair cars, ambulances and tow trucks. Together these big customers account for 20 per cent of Ford Vietnam’s Ranger sales, which was 4,791 in 2014, increasing 161 per cent compared to last year.

Ford Vietnam, established in 1995, is a joint venture between Michigan-based Ford Motor Company (75 per cent) and state-owned auto part manufacturer Diesel Song Cong (25 per cent). The company has the total investment capital of $125 million and 25 agents throughout the country. As of July 2014 Ford Vietnam holds the third biggest market share in Vietnam’s auto market with 10.4 per cent.
