VN, Czech promote multifaceted cooperation

Viet Nam attaches importance to strengthening relationship and multifaceted cooperation with traditional partners, including the Czech Republic, said President Sang.

President Milos Zeman regarded State President Sang’s State visit to the Czech Republic as a crucial landmark in the two nations’ relations, confirming his country will promote the multifaceted relationship with Viet Nam.

The two sides consented to coordinate in organizing activities in 2015 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

The two leaders agreed to launch effectively the inter-Governmental Committee on economic cooperation, accelerate the bilateral trade turnover to be symmetrical to the potentials of both, facilitate the two nations’ businesses to boost up cooperation in their advantageous areas.

They also assented to promote cooperation in other fields of education-training, national security, science-technology, culture, tourism and transport.

The Vietnamese State President proposed the Czech side continue to provide the Official Development Assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam in such areas as environmental protection and health care.

The guest thanked Czech authorities to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to stabilize their lives.

The Czech President affirmed that as an active member of the EU, the Czech Republic advocates to strengthen cooperation between Viet Nam and the EU, adding that the Czech Republic approved the Frame Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation (PCA) and committed to urging the EU to ratify the PCA and conclude EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement negotiations with Viet Nam.

Regarding to the East Sea issue, they agreed that all disputes must be dealt with peaceful measures and based on intentional law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 and all sides must strictly implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) for the sake of marine and aviation peace, stability, security, safety and freedom.
