Messer expands production capacity in Northern Vietnam

Messer is expanding by investing around 40 million in two new production projects in Thai Nguyen province strengthening its supply capacity for northern Vietnam s fast growing high tech industries

Photo: Messer Vietnam

The industrial gases specialist announced on August 20 that it will expand two existing facilities in the northern province, adding a combined 900 metric tonnes per day of liquid gas production capacity.

At its Yen Binh site, Messer will build a new air separation unit (ASU) capable of producing 600 metric tonnes per day of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon. Meanwhile, a new nitrogen liquefier with capacity of 300 MT per day will be developed at the company’s Song Cong facility.

The latest investment, worth approximately $40 million, will lift Messer’s total production capacity in northern Vietnam to 2,000 MT per day. The nitrogen liquefier is scheduled to begin operations in mid-2027, with the new ASU expected to come online by the end of that year.

The projects will particularly expand the availability of liquid nitrogen, an important input for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, as major technology manufacturers continue to increase their presence in northern Vietnam.

Continued foreign direct investment and the expansion of global manufacturers have helped reinforce the region’s position as an increasingly important manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. Messer expects the additional capacity to serve existing customers while supporting future industrial projects.

“This strategic investment underscores Messer’s commitment to sustainable, long-term growth in Southeast Asia, and will reinforce our position as a leading industrial gases supplier in Vietnam,” said Peter Mohnen, CEO of Messer.

He added that the company had partnered with local industries and continuously invested in production facilities for nearly three decades to support Vietnam’s economic growth and industrial development.

Adrien Rameaux, country manager of Messer in Vietnam, said the company remained confident about Vietnam’s economic potential and manufacturing outlook.

“By expanding the production capacity at our existing facilities, we will strengthen our ability to serve customers in high-growth sectors and continue to be a reliable partner,” Rameaux said.

Messer, the world’s largest privately held industrial gases specialist, supplies oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, CO2, and speciality gases to a broad range of industries.

The company entered Vietnam in 1997 and has since invested more than $600 million in the country, developing a production network that has made it one of Vietnam’s leading industrial gases suppliers.

Kaspersky secures top Asia Pacific operational technology security leadership award

Cybersecurity vendor Kaspersky received top operational technology leadership rankings from research firm Frost and Sullivan on 20 August 2026 for converged industrial security platforms

SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce that Kaspersky has received the 2026 Asia-Pacific OT Security Customer Value Leadership Recognition and the 2026 Asia-Pacific Converged IT and OT Security Product Leadership Recognition for its strong performance in delivering customer value and advancing converged cybersecurity across mission-critical industrial environments.

These recognitions highlight Kaspersky's ability to align its cybersecurity strategy with the evolving needs of industrial organizations while executing through a unified, OT-native approach. In a market shaped by rapid digitalization, legacy infrastructure, expanding cyber-physical attack surfaces, and the convergence of IT and OT, Kaspersky demonstrates a differentiated ability to strengthen protection without compromising operational continuity.

Frost & Sullivan evaluates companies through a rigorous benchmarking process across strategy effectiveness and strategy execution. Kaspersky excelled across these dimensions through its combination of purpose-built industrial cybersecurity, localized execution, partner-led delivery, and a platform strategy designed to support organizations from foundational OT protection to broader IT/OT convergence.

"Kaspersky demonstrates customer ownership excellence through a platform strategy built around completeness rather than isolated point capabilities. A unified approach is central to this value proposition, integrating endpoint protection, anomaly detection, secure remote access, asset visibility, and centralized management. This coherent operational model is especially valuable in industrial environments where low asset awareness and disconnected tools can slow response times, reduce efficiency, and leave security teams with an incomplete view of risks," said Tetsuya Niihara, Director at Frost & Sullivan.

Kaspersky's strategy focuses on the realities of industrial and critical infrastructure environments, where security solutions must accommodate legacy systems, heterogeneous architecture, and stringent uptime requirements. Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity (KICS) combines endpoint protection, OT network monitoring, anomaly detection, and asset visibility, while its broader IT security portfolio extends this approach across enterprise environments. The Open Single Management Platform enables centralized oversight and cross-domain threat correlation.

Innovation also remains central to Kaspersky's product strategy. Its solutions are designed with a limited system footprint and support for legacy operating systems, proprietary industrial protocols, air-gapped environments, and passive monitoring. AI-driven capabilities, behavioral analytics, automated alert summarization, and the Kaspersky Investigation and Response Assistant enhance security operations by helping analysts accelerate investigation and decision-making.

"APAC is where the world's industrial future is being built, and it is also where the diversity of cybersecurity maturity is greatest: Advanced manufacturers and first-time OT security adopters often operate in the same supply chain. Kaspersky's role in this region has been to make enterprise-grade industrial protection genuinely accessible across that entire spectrum through local teams, a certified partner ecosystem, and an adoption model that lets organizations start with visibility and scale to full protection at their own pace. Frost & Sullivan's recognition reflects the trust we have earned plant by plant, market by market, across APAC," said Adrian Hia, Managing Director, APAC at Kaspersky.

Kaspersky's customer value proposition is strengthened by its focus on non-disruptive protection and operational continuity. Capabilities such as zero-reboot updates, precision alerting, portable scanning, and OT-aware support help organizations strengthen their security posture while minimizing disruption to production environments. Its localized engagement model and partner ecosystem across key Asia-Pacific markets support practical deployment and long-term customer value.

"Kaspersky's approach stands out for bringing together comprehensive OT protection, visibility, and management while maintaining the operational discipline required in industrial environments. By connecting KICS with its broader IT security capabilities, the company provides customers with a more unified view of risk across traditionally siloed environments, helping strengthen both security effectiveness and operational efficiency," said Rajarshi Dhar, Associate Director, Security Advisory Practice at Frost & Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan commends Kaspersky for establishing a strong position at the intersection of OT cybersecurity, IT/OT convergence, cyber-physical systems security, and cyber resilience. Its ability to combine OT-native protection with unified IT/OT visibility and management allows organizations to secure interconnected industrial ecosystems while maintaining operational performance.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents Best Practices Recognitions to companies that demonstrate outstanding strategy development and implementation, resulting in measurable improvements in customer value, competitive positioning, innovation, and market performance. Kaspersky's two recognitions reflect its differentiated approach to addressing the evolving requirements of industrial cybersecurity across Asia-Pacific.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Recognition
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Recognitions honor companies across regional and global markets that exhibit exceptional achievement and consistent excellence in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer experience, and strategic product development. Each recognition is the result of a rigorous analytical process in which Frost & Sullivan industry experts benchmark performance through comprehensive interviews, deep-dive analysis, and extensive secondary research. The goal is to identify true best-in-class organizations that are driving transformative growth and setting new industry standards.

Learn more at www.kaspersky.com.

Sanas hires IT BPM industry chief Jack Madrid for Philippine expansion

Audio technology firm Sanas appointed former IBPAP chief Jack Madrid as ambassador on 20 August 2026 to direct expansion across Philippine business process outsourcing providers

MANILA, Philippines, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Philippines has built a global reputation for delivering customer experiences at scale. Now, as artificial intelligence reshapes the way businesses connect with customers, Speech AI company Sanas is strengthening its presence in the country to help shape the future of customer experience.

Effective October 11, 2026, Sanas will appoint Jack Madrid, current President and CEO of the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), as Sanas Ambassador, Philippines, and Christopher Venturina as Director of Business Development, Philippines. The appointments come as Sanas strengthens its local operations, expands customer investments, and builds deeper relationships with enterprises, BPO providers, and technology partners in the country.

The Philippines is a key market for Sanas as it brings AI into an industry where Filipino talent already plays a leading role in serving customers around the world.

Sanas currently works with more than 200 enterprises globally and processes millions of live voice interactions every day. The company was also recently ranked No. 8 on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies, while ranking No. 1 in both AI & Data and California.

"The Philippines has spent decades building one of the world's strongest customer experience industries. What AI changes is not the value of that talent, but what people can accomplish with the right technology," said Sharath Keshava Narayana, Co-Founder and CEO of Sanas. "We are investing in the Philippines because we believe the country can play a leading role in defining how people and AI work together to create better customer experiences."

A familiar industry leader for a new era
Madrid joins the company as Sanas Ambassador, Philippines at a pivotal moment for the Philippine IT-BPM industry, bringing more than two decades of experience across banking, technology, digital commerce, media, and industry leadership.

As President and CEO of IBPAP, Madrid helped lead the country's IT-BPM sector through significant transformation and growth. Under his leadership, the industry surpassed US$40 billion in annual revenues and supported approximately 1.9 million Digital Filipino Workers, reinforcing the Philippines' position as a global leader in technology-enabled services.

His move to Sanas brings together two sides of a conversation increasingly important to the Philippine economy: the country's strength in human-led customer service and the growing role of AI in the workplace.

"The conversation around AI and the Philippines should not simply be about what technology can replace. It should be about what technology can help Filipino talent do better," said Jack Madrid, Sanas Ambassador, Philippines. "The Philippines has an opportunity to lead the next chapter of global customer experience by combining the strengths of its people with technology that helps them communicate, perform, and connect more effectively. That is what makes this opportunity with Sanas particularly exciting to me."

Throughout his career, Madrid has held senior leadership positions at organizations including Citibank, Dell Technologies, Yahoo! Philippines, MTV Philippines, Ayala Corporation, and Multiply.com. He has also been a prominent voice on AI adoption, workforce readiness, digital infrastructure, and the future of work.

Turning AI interest into business impact
Sanas is also strengthening its commercial presence in the Philippines with the appointment of Venturina, who brings extensive experience across the country's outsourcing and customer experience ecosystem.

In his new role, Venturina will focus on expanding Sanas' relationships with enterprise customers, BPO providers, and technology partners in the Philippines and across the region.

"The conversation has moved from whether AI will affect customer experience to how companies can use it effectively and responsibly," said Christopher Venturina, Director of Business Development, Philippines, Sanas. "Our role is to help organizations turn that interest into practical applications that support employees, make conversations more effective, and deliver better customer experiences."

That shift is increasingly relevant as Philippine enterprises and BPOs navigate a global market where customers expect faster, more personalized, and more seamless interactions, while businesses face growing pressure to improve productivity and performance.

For Sanas, the opportunity is not simply to automate customer interactions, but to help organizations combine technology with human expertise to create better experiences.

"Technology should ultimately make it easier for people to understand and connect with one another," said Shawn Zhang, CTO and Co-Founder of Sanas. "The Philippines has shown the world what exceptional customer experience looks like. We believe AI can help Filipino professionals and the organizations they work with take that capability even further."

With Madrid and Venturina joining its Philippine leadership team, Sanas is strengthening its presence in a market it sees as central to the future of customer experience.

The future of customer experience will be defined by the combination of AI and human expertise. The Philippines is uniquely positioned to lead that future, pairing world-class talent with technologies that help people communicate more effectively, perform at a higher level, and deliver better outcomes for customers.

Learn more at Sanas.ai.

VIB customers need more value not necessarily more cards

As customer needs become increasingly diverse credit cards should remain a steadfast companion for customers throughout every stage of their personal financial journey

On any given day, a person may shop, pay their child’s tuition, pay insurance premiums, book a flight for an upcoming trip, or manage major household expenses. As life becomes increasingly diverse and interconnected, the question is no longer how many more financial tools customers need, but how many needs a single financial solution can address at the same time.

For VIB, the challenge lies not in how many cards a customer requires, but in whether a solution is flexible enough to meet multiple needs at once. It is the mindset behind One Card–a card designed to meet customers’ diverse needs across different stages of life. Tuong Nguyen, deputy CEO of VIB, speaks with VIR’s Thanh Van about the bank’s new approach to credit cards.

How do you see the changes in modern consumers’ lives making designing a card today fundamentally different from designing one in the past?

Customers’ lives are becoming increasingly multifaceted. One may simultaneously be an office professional, a household financial manager, a parent, a frequent traveller, or someone seeking unique and personalised experiences.

As a result, financial needs no longer fall into separate categories. A customer might shop for their family, pay tuition fees, settle insurance premiums, book flights, or conduct international transactions–all within the same spending journey.

This trend makes it increasingly difficult to identify a typical customer persona. Two individuals might share the same age and income level, yet their spending habits and priorities can differ vastly.

With the evolving demand, the key question for us is whether customers need another card.

VIB has launched One Card with the philosophy “ONE is ENOUGH.” Can you explain what this means?

“ENOUGH” does not mean having less or having just enough. “ENOUGH” means having a comprehensive solution to customers’ important needs without making the experience more complicated. We believe that customers can get more value without managing more tools.

It is the reason why VIB pursues the “ONE IS ENOUGH” philosophy. Instead of addressing each need separately, we have developed a single product that addresses diverse needs for customers with a simple and seamless experience. Thus, customers can have more value, but they don’t need to manage numerous financial solutions.

What are the unique selling points of One Card compared with VIB’s other cards?

One Card caters to different demands, ranging from shopping, travel, education, insurance, and international spending. This single credit card can accompany customers throughout their financial journey. Customers can flexibly select cashback rewards in line with their spending needs at any given time.

For the same journey, One Card offers three tiers – Gold, Platinum and Signature – with limits and privileges automatically upgraded according to each tier. More importantly, cardholders don’t need to issue a new physical card when their needs and financial capacity change. Furthermore, the PayFlex feature allows customers to link the One Card with any other VIB payment card, creating a seamless experience for payments and cash withdrawals on a single card.

Instead of having a specialised card for every need, One Card brings multiple needs together in a single product. Thus, customers don’t need a new card with every new milestone in life, as the card can continue to serve their evolving needs throughout their financial journey.

Why did VIB choose to bring multiple needs together in one card?

In the early years of the “Leading card trends” journey, VIB has developed specialised card products to address customers’ needs. As customers have more demands at the same time, we realise that the next step is not to create a new card. Instead, we should create a card flexible enough to eliminate the need to carry multiple cards.

When designing One Card, we didn’t try to incorporate as many features as possible into a single card. Instead, we decided to select and connect the right values within one seamless experience. We made sure that diverse options wouldn’t create more barriers for customers. Thus, customers don’t have to remember too many conditions, think about which card to use for each transaction, or switch cards as their needs change. Our goal is to ease the decision-making process for customers rather than incorporating more features into one card.

Imagine the same customer at different stages of life, how do their needs evolve? How does VIB One Card address their needs at each stage?

Imagine the same customer at three different points in life. At 25, they pay attention to their first personal experiences such as a holiday, a long-awaited purchase, or everyday spending as they begin their career.

By 35, the same card enters a new chapter with them. Specifically, they pay for their children’s education, protect the family with insurance, and take trips with others.

At 45, the focus may shift again towards optimising their finances and enjoying experiences and privileges that better reflect their changing lifestyle and status. Yet the needs from earlier stages do not simply disappear–they continue to build on one another.

Customers’ lives evolve at every stage. Does every change really need to come with a new card?

With VIB One Card, we want to separate the card itself from the value it delivers. If customers have to close an existing product and open a new one every time their needs change, the experience becomes fragmented. Instead, if the product is designed to adapt across different stages of life, customers can continue using a familiar solution while the value it delivers grows alongside their financial journey.

As customers’ lives evolve, the value their card provides should evolve with them–without requiring them to start over with a different card.

Beyond a credit card, how does VIB build the relationship with its customers?

Previously, “Leading card trends” was about continuously creating new solutions for specific needs. With One Card, VIB wants to take a step further: creating a solution that can adapt as customers’ needs evolve. One Card is not simply about bringing multiple benefits together in a single card. It is about a longer-term journey between customers and the bank–one that extends across VIB’s entire personal financial ecosystem, encompassing everything from cards and payment solutions to deposits and loans.

We want to create a product that not only suits customers at the beginning but also gives them reasons to stay and use it for years to come.
FDA grants breakthrough status to Norroy kidney cancer imaging agent

Biotechnology firm Norroy Bioscience secured Breakthrough Therapy and Fast Track designations from the US FDA on 19 August 2026 for its kidney cancer imaging product

WUXI, China, Aug. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NORROY BIOSCIENCE (NORROY), a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on innovative targeted radiopharmaceuticals, announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted both Breakthrough Therapy and Fast Track designations to NORROY's 68Ga-NYM096, a potential radiopharmaceutical imaging agent targeting carbonic anhydrase Ⅸ (CAⅨ) for PET imaging of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).

68Ga-NYM096 is the first China-originated innovative radiopharmaceutical to receive FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation. It is being developed as a non-invasive PET imaging agent to enable the characterization of indeterminate renal masses identified by Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and support the differentiation of ccRCC from non-ccRCC lesions.

The granting of this Breakthrough Therapy designation recognizes the potential of 68Ga-NYM096 to provide meaningful clinical advantages over current diagnostic approaches based on preliminary clinical data, while addressing significant unmet clinical needs in the diagnosis and management of patients with ccRCC. The Fast Track designation is designed to facilitate the development and expedite the review of 68Ga-NYM096 by enabling more frequent interactions with the FDA, enhanced regulatory guidance throughout the clinical development process, and potential eligibility for rolling review of a New Drug Application (NDA).

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common subtype of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), accounting for approximately 70%–80% of RCC cases. According to the American Cancer Society, in 2026, an estimated 80,450 new cases of kidney (renal) cancer will be diagnosed in the US, and 15,160 people will die from the disease.

NORROY Founder and CEO, Mr. Peng Fang, said: "We have seen promising clinical data from the ongoing development of 68Ga-NYM096, supporting its potential to advance the diagnosis and management of patients with ccRCC. Additional clinical data of 68Ga-NYM096 will be presented at the 2026 EANM Annual Congress. We plan to initiate Phase I clinical trials evaluating 68Ga-NYM096 in both China and the United States, and will continue to work closely with the FDA to advance its clinical development. We believe this innovative imaging agent has the potential to reshape the diagnosis and management of ccRCC and ultimately benefit more patients worldwide."

To learn more about NORROY, visit https://www.norroybiopharm.com/
and follow us on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/norroybiopharm/

SuperX delivers 31 million dollars in AI servers to Japan

Infrastructure provider SuperX AI Technology delivered 31 million dollars of Pro6000 servers to Japan on 20 August 2026 securing 20 million dollars in follow on orders

SINGAPORE, Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SuperX AI Technology Limited ("SuperX" or the "Company"), a full-stack AI infrastructure solutions provider, announces the latest business milestone achieved by its Japan Global Supply Center, the Company's core local hub for expanding presence in Japan's computing infrastructure market. On July 9 and August 4, 2026, the Company entered into Phase 3 procurement contracts and Phase 4 Purchase Order, respectively, with Digital Dynamic Inc. ("DDI"), a Japan-based AI infrastructure company, via its partner, for the supply of Pro6000 servers. All equipment will be warehoused, allocated and delivered locally through the Japan Global Supply Center.

SuperX and DDI have secured four rounds of Purchase Orders in 2026. The first three orders were secured in January, April and July respectively, followed by a fourth new Purchase Order in August. Four successive capacity expansions within a single year fully demonstrate DDI's recognition of SuperX's product quality, delivery reliability and localized service capabilities, serving as solid evidence of the Company's strengths in overseas computing hardware delivery. SuperX expects cumulative shipments to DDI to reach approximately US$38 million by the end of August 2026, of which approximately US$31 million has been shipped to date. Projects valued at around US$28 million are under phased production and sequential delivery, while new orders worth approximately US$20 million have been secured. The Company's regional delivery capacity has been validated by the market, and its localized delivery model has entered large-scale operation.

Japan's computing industry is accelerating the deployment of distributed AI infrastructure, with ongoing rollouts of data center operations, GPU cluster deployment and computing hosting projects. Market demand for bulk supply of high-performance servers, reliable product availability and rapid local response continues to climb. DDI has built a nationwide computing network across Japan, covering AI data center development and operation, hardware cluster asset management and commercial computing capacity provision. The company maintains sustained demand for stable supply of high-performance GPU hardware. This Phase 3 procurement contract and the Phase 4 Purchase Order, reflect the deepening long-term strategic partnership centered on localized delivery.

As SuperX's pivotal local hub in Japan's computing sector, the Japan Global Supply Center has established an integrated service ecosystem encompassing warehousing, bulk resource scheduling and local order fulfillment. Compared with conventional cross-border long-distance shipment models, the local hub significantly shortens equipment lead times, ensures on-time delivery of large-volume AI server orders, and caters precisely to local computing operators' project schedules featuring phased rollouts and capacity expansion. Since commencing operations, the Center has continuously secured hardware orders from domestic computing service providers with steadily growing supply volumes.

The new contract and new orders demonstrate the expanding operational capacity of SuperX's Japan Global Supply Center and further consolidate the Company's service footprint in Japan's local AI hardware delivery segment. Meanwhile, SuperX is actively onboarding more local computing clients, deepening regional market penetration and strengthening its market position within Japan's AI infrastructure industry. Against the backdrop of rising demand for distributed AI computing infrastructure across Japan, SuperX will continue to optimize inventory scheduling, bulk delivery and supporting service frameworks at the Japan Global Supply Center and expand the scope of local order fulfillment. Leveraging its localized supply chain capabilities, SuperX will deliver consistent, efficient hardware support for regional AI infrastructure initiatives and steadily drive the expansion of its overseas computing infrastructure business.

About SuperX AI Technology Limited (NASDAQ: SUPX)

SuperX AI Technology Limited is an AI infrastructure solutions provider, offering a comprehensive portfolio of proprietary hardware, advanced software, and end-to-end services for AI data centers.
Mudah my integrates automotive platform listings into Carousell Malaysia marketplace

Online marketplace Mudah my linked its automotive inventory with Carousell Malaysia on 20 August 2026 enabling car dealers to access expanded regional buyer networks

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 20 August 2026 - Mudah.my today announced that its car inventory is now available on Carousell Malaysia, giving used-car dealers access to a new pool of buyers while giving Malaysians more cars to discover and compare on the platform they already use.

The new integration between Mudah.my Auto and Carousell Malaysia means eligible vehicles on Mudah.my will automatically appear on Carousell, without dealers needing to upload or manage the same cars across two platforms. Up to 35,000 cars are expected to be discoverable on Carousell by the end of September, giving Carousell users access to a significantly wider selection of cars. Together, the Mudah.my and Carousell platforms reach almost 6 million online users.

Alongside the expanded inventory, Mudah.my continues to invest in tools that make car buying easier on its Auto marketplace. AI-powered highlights surface a vehicle's key selling points at a glance, price insights help buyers gauge whether an asking price is fair before they commit, and a redesigned search and listing experience makes it faster to filter, compare and shortlist across a larger pool of vehicles.

"Mudah has long been the platform of choice for Malaysians buying and selling used cars, and as the largest marketplace for cars in Malaysia, we're proud to make that breadth of choice available to Carousell Malaysia's users too. This integration brings together the strengths of two leading platforms in the group, creating greater value for both buyers and dealers while reinforcing our position in the market. It's an important step towards Carousell Group's mission of making second-hand the first choice and brings us closer to making that a reality for more Malaysians."said Jacky Tan Nguyen, CEO of Mudah.my.

While Mudah.my and Carousell Malaysia operate as distinct platforms serving different market segments, both have been part of the same group for the past seven years. This integration puts that shared foundation to work, bringing together complementary audiences to create clearer value for both dealers and car buyers.

The announcement comes as Malaysia's automotive sector maintains its momentum despite more selective consumer behaviour. The Malaysian Automotive Association has revised its 2026 total industry volume forecast upwards to 800,000 units, supported by resilient demand, growth of sport utility vehicles and rising electrified vehicle adoption.

At the same time, the used-car market continues to benefit from buyers who are weighing affordability, financing, total ownership cost and value more carefully before committing to a vehicle.

Across Southeast Asia, digital used-car marketplaces are also becoming more important as buyers look for greater transparency, easier comparison and more structured ways to evaluate pre-owned vehicles. For dealers, this means visibility alone is no longer enough, as cars need to appear where high-intent buyers are already searching, and the path from discovery to enquiry needs to be simpler.

"For dealers, the value here is simple: post once, reach buyers on two platforms.
METiS TechBio relocates corporate headquarters to Nexxus Building Hong Kong

Biotechnology firm METiS TechBio leased office facilities in Central s Nexxus Building on 20 August 2026 supporting commercial expansion across Hong Kong s primary financial district

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 August 2026 – As leasing activity in Hong Kong's core commercial districts continues to recover, Nexxus Building in Central has welcomed METiS TechBio (Stock Code: 7666.HK), the world's first listed artificial intelligence (AI) - powered drug delivery biotechnology company. This marks another milestone for Trivium Asset Management ("Trivium"), an Asian real estate investment and asset management firm in advancing asset optimisation and attracting diversified quality tenants successfully since taking over the building's operations and management.

Since assuming the management of Nexxus Building at the beginning of this year, Trivium has rapidly driven interior upgrade and optimisation work. The 23rd floor has been transformed into a brand-new event space, "Nexxus Hub", providing tenants with a one-stop, value-added venue for seminars, networking events and workshops. At the same time, to meet market demand for flexible office space, the team subdivided the 6th floor into six small-to-medium units, significantly enhancing the flexibility of floorplate configuration to precisely address the needs of enterprises of different scales. Upon completion of the works, multiple tenant groups promptly enquired and successively moved in, including METiS TechBio as well as several finance industry companies.

As the global pioneer in AI-driven nanotechnology innovation and drug delivery, METiS TechBio has demonstrated robust market potential following its listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in May this year. Dr. Chris Lai, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of METiS TechBio, said, "As a company at the forefront of life sciences and AI innovation technology, we are at a critical stage of rapid business expansion and global scaling. Central, as an international financial and commercial core, offers outstanding geographical advantages and a top-tier business ecosystem. With the completion of internal upgrade works at Nexxus Building, its event space and the flexible spatial planning on the 6th floor is a great match to our team's operational needs. We eagerly anticipate establishing our Hong Kong base at Nexxus Building to further drive the Group's technological innovation and strategic breakthroughs."

METiS TechBio's decision to locate at Nexxus Building not only reflects leading tech-innovation enterprises' confidence in the commercial prospects of Central's core, but also highlights how the building's post-optimisation positioning precisely addresses the requirements of high-growth enterprises.

Wilfred Ma, Managing Partner of Trivium Asset Management, said, "We warmly welcome METiS TechBio to Nexxus Building. This serves as a testament to the market's recognition of the building's prime location and quality facilities. Since taking over management, Trivium has been actively advancing asset optimisation, including creating the event space 'Nexxus Hub' and reconfiguring the unit layout on the 6th floor, injecting innovative concepts into a traditional Grade-A office building while providing tenants with a more flexible and value-added workplace experience. Looking ahead, we will continue to leverage innovative asset management strategies to attract a diversified range of premium enterprises, continuously unlocking the commercial value of Nexxus Building as a landmark Grade-A office building in Central."

Built in 1962 as the former headquarters of Hang Seng Bank, Nexxus Building has been a witness to Hong Kong's rise as a global financial centre. Following a major renovation in 2008 and the addition of a direct footbridge to IFC and the Airport Express in 2020, the building continues to host multinational corporations, leading financial institutions and professional services firms, and premium retail tenants - including the iconic Hong Kong Bankers Club - reinforcing its status as one of Central's most distinguished Grade‑A office towers.

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

HEIDELBERG acquires manroland sheetfed business to boost printing operations

Industrial machinery manufacturer HEIDELBERG acquired the manroland sheetfed lifecycle business on 19 August 2026 expanding core operational capacity across European commercial printing markets

HEIDELBERG, GERMANY - Newsaktuell – 19 August 2026 - Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) has started financial year 2026/2027 by systematically continuing its transition to a more broadly based technology company. HEIDELBERG is setting the course for future growth with a number of strategic initiatives. Besides expanding its core business by taking over manroland sheetfed lifecycle business and POLAR production operations, the company is also tapping into additional potential by taking advantage of new market opportunities arising from energy storage systems and the European defense sector.

HD Advanced Technologies is handling industrial production of battery energy storage systems (cabinets) for PHENOGY.

Integration of the manroland sheetfed Group's lifecycle business and global sales and service companies, together with full acquisition of POLAR postpress systems, has further enhanced the strategic position of HEIDELBERG as a systems integrator in its core business. As part of the manroland sheetfed transaction, HEIDELBERG has also secured the intellectual property rights for the Roland 900 / Cartonmaster in the large-format sheetfed offset segment. The first press of this model has already been sold, and HEIDELBERG is currently looking into further production and development options for this system at a low-cost location. In this way, the company is reinforcing its leading position in the printing and packaging sector.

Live Hub opened to demonstrate integrated drone defense

At the recent international aerospace trade show ILA Berlin, ONBERG signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a further joint venture – with the Ukrainian drone developer Skyeton. The Skyeton portfolio includes high-tech, combat-proven surveillance drones, which are being combined with the HEIDELBERG unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) to create an autonomous system of systems. The unmanned air-ground systems that are currently being developed in rapid innovation cycles in Ukraine are increasingly regarded as a future defense solution. In July, ONBERG opened a Live Hub to demonstrate integrated counter-UAS capabilities at its Brandenburg site, where decision-makers from public authorities, operators of critical infrastructure, the armed forces, and industry can see exactly how integrated protection from enemy drones works in practice.

The move by HD Advanced Technologies into the production of sodium-ion battery storage systems is also opening up new potential. The company has teamed up with Swiss business PHENOGY to collaborate on a technology and industry platform in this sector. As an initial step, HD Advanced Technologies will start handling the industrial manufacturing of complete energy storage systems for PHENOGY – from procurement and production through to rollout, installation, service, and maintenance. The two companies are also laying the groundwork for a joint venture focusing on the development and industrial manufacturing of sodium-ion battery cells based on PHENOGY's cell chemistry and a specific printing process from HEIDELBERG.

"This financial year at HEIDELBERG is all about investments in line with our strategic agenda. We are looking to further strengthen the company's market position and tap into new potential. This will create the basis for profitable growth and sustainable value enhancement in the coming years," says Jürgen Otto, CEO of HEIDELBERG.

Solid start to FY 2026/2027

During the first quarter of financial year 2026/2027 (April 1 to June 30, 2026), underlying conditions continued to be challenging for HEIDELBERG. Despite this, the incoming orders figure of € 537 million was only slightly down on the equivalent quarter of the previous year (€ 559 million) and therefore laid a solid foundation for further business development. The phasing-out of a state-subsidized investment program in Italy had a massive impact in the first quarter, reducing incoming orders there by over € 60 million compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The positive developments in China and the rest of Asia only partly compensated for this.

Sales totaled € 404 million and, as expected, were therefore below the figure for the equivalent period of the previous year (€ 466 million). Sales were significantly higher in China, the UK, and Brazil, but lower elsewhere, especially in the EMEA region. Adjusted for special items, the EBITDA margin for the first quarter of financial year 2026/2027 was 0.2 percent (corresponding quarter of previous year: 4.4 percent), primarily due to the lower volume of sales. As is normally the case at this point in the financial year, the free cash flow after the first three months was negative, at € -77 million (equivalent period of previous year: € -68 million). The net result after taxes for the first quarter amounted to € -32 million (corresponding period of previous year: € -11 million).

The HEIDELBERG Technology segment's incoming orders and sales after three months exceeded the level recorded in the equivalent period of the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA remained stable at € -4 million. A partly expected downturn in the EMEA region was a particular factor contributing to the Print & Packaging Equipment segment's lower incoming orders and sales. In the Digital Solutions & Lifecycle segment, incoming orders after three months were around 5 percent up on the equivalent quarter of the previous year, while sales matched the previous year's quarterly figure.

"In our core business, we are targeting our investments toward growth markets, which is also boosting our service, consumables, and spare parts business," says Dr. David Schmedding, Chief Technology & Sales Officer at HEIDELBERG. "At the same time, we can increase the proportion of repeat sales and better balance out new machine business, which tends to depend on economic trends," he adds.

Forecast for financial year 2026/2027 confirmed

The forecast for financial year 2026/2027 remains unchanged. The company is expecting stable Group sales matching the previous year's level in financial year 2026/2027 and a noticeable improvement in the adjusted EBITDA margin compared with the previous year. It is assumed that there will be no substantial changes in relevant exchange rates for business activities.
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

Image material and further information about the company are available in the Investor Relations portal and Press Lounge of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG at www.heidelberg.com.

Vietnam signals stronger investment led growth in July

Vietnam s July data point to a strengthening investment led growth cycle driven by expanding manufacturing public investment and foreign direct investment

Photo: Duc Thanh

According to Dragon Capital, July offered a test the market rarely sets this cleanly: some of the strongest production data in years against the index's sharpest monthly fall since March. The question, whether the first half's growth composition could hold its momentum, was answered clearly. Capacity formation accelerated through every channel, and inflation fell month-on-month for a second consecutive month, confirming May as the peak.

Manufacturing gave the clearest reading. the index of industrial production (IIP) rose 14.5 per cent on-year in July and 11.4 per cent in seven months of this year, the strongest seven-month run in years, with breadth holding across metals, motor vehicles and electronics.

The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) climbed to a five-month high of 52.9, corroborating the official series. The more telling number is manufacturing employment, up 3.3 per cent on-year. Firms are adding people and plant, not just running existing capacity harder.

Capital deployment tells the same story from two directions. Public investment disbursement rose 25.9 per cent on-year in July, taking seven months of this year to 39 per cent of the annual plan, with the usual year-end acceleration still ahead. Realised FDI of $15.2 billion was the strongest seven-month total in five years, up 11.8 per cent and 82.6 per cent directed to manufacturing, while registered FDI rose 58 per cent to $38.1 billion. Domestic and foreign capital are being committed to the production base simultaneously, and at scale.

Imports are where that build shows up first. Import growth of 34.8 per cent on-year in seven months of this year ran well ahead of exports at 21.7 per cent, swinging the trade balance from a $10.4 billion surplus a year earlier to a $20.5 billion deficit.

The composition defuses most of the alarm: 94.1 per cent of imports were production inputs, led by electronics and computer components, up 65.9 per cent to $135.8bn. This is the investment cycle in transit rather than consumption outrunning income, though the import build will need to convert into exports for the external accounts to rebalance.

Retail sales, up 13.1 per cent in seven months of this year and 7.5 per cent in real terms, remain steady support rather than the swing factor.

Inflation was the month's most important quiet release. CPI fell 0.1 per cent on-month, a second consecutive decline that has taken more than a point off May's 5.6 per cent on-year peak, and the seven months' average of 4.4 per cent sits below the government's 4.5–5 per cent ceiling.

Core inflation at 4.6 per cent and utility costs still warrant monitoring, but the direction has turned: policy room that looked compressed in May is reopening just as the investment cycle asks more of it.

Dragon Capital also notes that the index spent July trading the world rather than Vietnam. The VN-Index fell 6.3 per cent in USD terms to close at 1,735.8, with the damage concentrated in the week to July 24, a 5.7 per cent drop on Middle East risk, oil and US trade-policy headlines. The recovery was quick, with the index reclaiming 1,700 by July 29, though foreign investors net sold roughly $430 milllion on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and breadth stayed uneven.

The second half therefore starts constructive but more selective. FTSE implementation in September, lighter foreign positioning after months of net selling and reopening policy room all point towards a more positive outlook for the index in the coming months.

Domestic fundamentals hold firm as markets reprice global risk
Domestic fundamentals remain solid as markets reassess global risk, with Middle East tensions causing volatility.

First-quarter growth hits record high despite global volatility
Vietnam’s economy delivered a standout performance in the first quarter of 2026, with GDP expanding 7.8 per cent on-year – the strongest first-quarter growth on record.

Key factors to watch in the stock market in early 2026
A rebound in manufacturing, stronger domestic demand, record tourism and steady investment flows are laying a solid foundation for earnings momentum and improved market sentiment.

Vietnam s tourism is seeing a homegrown beach boom with Phu Quoc Danang Hoi An and Con Dao the key destinations

Yet booking growth tells a different story. The strongest momentum comes from Vietnam’s own islands and coastline, where beach destinations significantly outpaced the wider market. While outbound demand elsewhere in the region is increasingly flowing towards East Asia, Vietnam’s growth is being driven strongly by domestic travel

Traveloka highlights a homegrown coastal surge, with Phu Quoc bookings up 86 per cent on-year and Con Dao, Hoi An and Danang also among the strongest performers.

While Thailand and Indonesia cooled and Singapore poured its growth abroad, Vietnam’s domestic and international bookings grew in step, and the domestic market was led by beach destinations, particularly Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Hoi An and Danang.

The data points to leisure travel rather than routine trips, with beach destinations attracting larger-than-average groups of 1.87–1.97 travellers and attraction bookings rising alongside accommodation stays. Dalat was the notable exception, with demand cooling sharply despite strong growth across most other domestic destinations.

Phu Quoc’s combination of beaches, resorts and accessibility has made it Vietnam’s strongest domestic travel success story this quarter. Meanwhile, travellers are increasingly drawn to Con Dao’s quieter island experience and natural beauty. Hoi An continues to benefit from its blend of heritage, food culture and family-friendly travel appeal.

In addition, Danang’s momentum reflects a destination succeeding across accommodation, attractions and family travel at the same time. Vung Tau, the quick coastal escape from Ho Chi Minh City, completes an all-beach domestic table.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese searches for Bangkok grew 61 per cent on-year, compared with a 19 per cent rise in bookings, while the average stay increased from 3.2 to 3.6 nights. Interest, commitment and time on the ground are all moving the same way.

Vietnam reshaping Southeast Asia's tourist map
Vietnam is redrawing Southeast Asia's tourism landscape as visa reforms and infrastructure upgrades boost its global appeal.

Vietnamese tourists gain easier access to Dubai
The UAE has expanded its pre-approved 14-day visit entry permit to programme to include Vietnamese nationals travelling with Emirates, allowing passengers to complete a streamlined online application before departure through VFS Global.

Vietnam ranks in top four Asian destinations for European tourists
Vietnam has risen to fourth place among the most-searched Asian destinations by European travellers for summer 2026, while also ranking among the region’s fastest-growing markets in terms of travel interest, according to Agoda.

Expanding credit and livelihoods

As the labour market continues to recover policy credit is helping poor and vulnerable workers improve their livelihoods while supporting small businesses to expand and create jobs

The labour market is gradually recovering in tandem with economic growth, yet millions of people remain underemployed or unable to fully utilise their working capacity.

In this context, expanding credit for job creation not only provides an additional source of capital for workers and production and business units, but also opens up opportunities for small livelihoods to grow into more stable production activities.

In the first six months of 2026, the labour market continued to show positive signs. The labour force aged 15 and above reached 53.7 million, up 690,700 from the same period last year.

Photo: VBSP

The number of employed people reached 52.6 million, up 672,500. Average monthly income stood at $360, an increase of $28.68 from the same period last year. The unemployment rate among the working-age population remained at 2.22 per cent.

Behind these positive figures, however, remains a significant gap in employment and livelihoods. Nearly 2.2 million people were classified as underutilised labour during the period.

More than four million people were engaged in work producing goods and services primarily for their own consumption, 89.6 per cent of them in rural areas. Informal employment continued to account for 61.9 per cent of total employment, rising to as high as 71.1 per cent in rural areas.

These figures indicate that the employment challenge is not simply a matter of the unemployment rate. For many households, particularly in rural areas, a lack of capital to expand their activities remains a barrier.

The income gap also points to this reality. In the first six months of the year, average monthly income among urban workers was $424, while that of rural workers was $316.

As a result, job creation is increasingly linked to another question: how can people who are able to work be given better conditions to create jobs for themselves, expand their livelihoods or join production establishments capable of generating additional employment?

This is a gap that policy credit can help address, particularly through lending policies that support job creation, job retention and expansion, targeting both workers with production and business plans and production and business units in need of capital for development.

Expanding capital flows for job creation

Under Government's Decree No.338/2025/ND-CP dated December 25, 2025, the lending programme supporting job creation, job retention and expansion has two main groups of borrowers: workers and production and business establishments, including small and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative unions, cooperative groups and household businesses.

Loan limits have also been raised. Workers may borrow up to $8,000, while production and business units may borrow up to $400,000, with a limit of no more than $8,000 for each worker whose employment is supported, retained or expanded. The maximum loan term is 10 years.

What notable is the way the funding is tied to employment objectives. To obtain loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies system, the labourers must have a plan for using the funds to create, retain or expand employment.

For production and business establishments, the capital-use plan must also be feasible and meet regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the effectiveness of the policy is measured by its ability to generate income and employment.

The current interest rate under the programme is 7.92 per cent, per year. Some groups are eligible for a similar interest rate applied to poor households, currently 6.24 per cent, per year.

These include workers from ethnic minority groups belonging to poor households, poor households in areas facing extremely difficult socioeconomic conditions, people with disabilities, and people who directly care for people with particularly severe disabilities.

Preferential treatment is also available to production and business establishments where at least 30 per cent of their total workforce belongs to certain groups, including people with disabilities, ethnic minority people, people who have completed their prison sentences, and those who have completed decisions placing them in compulsory education or compulsory drug rehabilitation establishments.

This is a noteworthy approach: capital is prioritised for people seeking to create employment for themselves and establishments capable of creating jobs for others, while better conditions are provided to groups that face greater difficulties in entering the labour market.

In a growing economy, employment would be generated across a range of sectors: enterprises, cooperatives, household businesses and individual family livelihood models.

Many jobs are created from small loans just large enough to purchase additional machinery, procure more raw materials, expand production or keep a business activity running.

The value of job-creation credit therefore lies in its ability to direct capital to the right places - where there is demand for funding and the capacity to turn capital into economic activity.

As the labour market gains more jobs but the number of workers whose potential remains underutilised is still significant, expanding the capital flow would take on an additional meaning: creating conditions for more people not merely to have a job, but to have an opportunity to build a better livelihood from the work they do.

<a class="__mb_article_in_image_large_box" The Vietnamese renewable energy company specialises in the development, investment, design, engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of renewable energy systems. The project is expected to be connected to the grid and begin commercial operations in mid-September.

As one of Vietnam's largest integrated resort destinations, Corona Resort faces growing electricity demand driven by tourism operations. The project initially had 5.5 MWp of modules installed, with the 3MWp n-type i-TOPCon Vertex N modules and 10MWh AC-coupled Trina Storage Elementa 2 added later, showing how existing solar assets can be expanded with BESS to strengthen local power supply resilience.

By combining daytime solar generation with greater energy flexibility provided by energy storage, commercial and industrial users can improve energy cost management and create additional commercial value. The integrated PV+BESS system enables greater utilisation of onsite solar generation, reduces peak electricity demand, enhances energy resilience, and improves overall operating efficiency.

The project reflects a larger trend of solar-plus-storage deployment in Vietnam. Vietnam aims to develop 10,000–16,300 MW of BESS capacity by 2030, reflecting the growing role of BESS in integrating solar and wind power, improving dispatch and strengthening energy security.

"This project demonstrates how advanced PV and BESS technologies can be successfully integrated into large-scale commercial facilities in Vietnam," a representative from Nam Viet said.

"Trinasolar went beyond its role as a technology supplier, drawing on its expertise across PV and energy storage to advise on the BESS configuration and operating approach. This helped us develop a solution aligned with the project's technical and commercial requirements."

Elva Wang, group director of Southeast, South and Central Asia, Trinasolar Asia Pacific, said, "Enhancing existing solar assets with energy storage is one of the emerging pathways in Vietnam's renewable energy market. These projects can present challenges from early-stage system planning to integration and delivery, making close collaboration between technology providers, EPCs and customers essential."

"By bringing PV and BESS together through bankable products, system-level understanding and regional execution experience, Trinasolar is helping partners in Vietnam develop PV+BESS projects for both generation and flexibility," Wang said.

Trina Solar to amplify its Vietnam footprint with third factory
Trina Solar, a solar panel manufacturer based in China, is finalising plans to inaugurate its third production plant in Vietnam, a calculated move aimed at boosting its exports to the US following the imposition of US tariffs on its products manufactured in Thailand.

Trina Solar to invest additional $420 million in Thai Nguyen
Trina Solar, a Chinese enterprise in photovoltaic module and smart energy solutions, decided to inject an additional $420 million into its ongoing projects in the northern province of Thai Nguyen.

More chinese solar-tech manufacturers enter Vietnam
Hoang Thinh Dat JSC and Chinese firm Hainan Drinda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed an MoU on March 26 to develop a solar panel factory in the Hoang Mai II Industrial Park, located in Southeast Economic Zone of the central province of Nghe An.

Spalba makes foray into Vietnamese market

Spalba a digital marketplace for business events has entered the Vietnamese market by adding Angsana Lang Co and Banyan Tree Lang Co to its platform as part of its wider expansion across Southeast Asia

Photo: Spalba

This move is part of Spalba's wider APAC expansion strategy, with the company looking to build a connected digital infrastructure for venues, planners and vendors as it scales across Southeast Asia. The company is targeting 100 per cent growth this year and plans to expand its footprint to more than 80 cities globally.

Spalba is also working towards building a network of over 100,000 active event spaces by 2027, with Southeast Asia expected to play an important role in its growth.

With the Vietnam foray, Spalba seeks to capitalise on the country's growing meetings industry market and secure a stronger presence across Southeast Asia.

Vietnam is gaining prominence as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism destination, supported by the expansion of its manufacturing and corporate sectors, as well as growing tourism and international business travel. Ho Chi Minh City is emerging as a key hub for conferences, incentive programmes and corporate events, with international planners showing increasing interest in the market.

Spalba sees an opportunity to simplify the venue-planning process, which remains largely manual. Finding and assessing suitable venues can take several weeks and may involve phone enquiries, site inspections and multiple rounds of coordination before planners make a final selection.

Vishal Puri, co-founder of Spalba, said, “Vietnam represents more than a new geography for us. It is an opportunity to participate in the next phase of how the region's event infrastructure is built. As corporate and MICE activity becomes increasingly cross-border, the industry needs infrastructure that makes venues discoverable, comparable and actionable without requiring planners to be physically present at every stage. We see the future moving from fragmented venue discovery to a connected operating layer for the entire event ecosystem.”

Spalba’s digital twin technology allows planners and corporate clients to get a virtual view of venues, evaluate available spaces and visualise potential layouts before visiting the site in person. According to the company, the technology can help properties shorten their sales cycles by up to 60 per cent.

Meliá Hotels International expands in Vietnam with first Meliá Collection hotel
Following the signing of Ocaria Retreat Mui Ne, Member of Meliá Collection, Ignacio Martin, area managing director for Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International, spoke with VIR's Thanh Van about the group's expansion strategy in Vietnam.

iRad Hospital featured on CNN medical broadcast
Melco Resorts and iRad Group highlighted their Macau medical facility following a feature on CNN's Meanwhile in Asia program during July 2026 broadcasts.

Sentosa GrillFest 2026 returns with 42 food vendors
Sentosa GrillFest 2026 returns with its largest lineup yet, featuring 42 food vendors across five zones, including the debut of Chef's Grill, an air-conditioned omakase-inspired eight-course dining experience co-curated with the Singapore Chefs' Association.
