SunAsia Energy VinEnergo launch Solar on Water portfolio in the Philippines

The Philippines SunAsia Energy Inc and VinEnergo have entered a strategic partnership to develop a 422 MWp Solar on Water portfolio across Pampanga and Negros Occidental representing an estimated investment of 406 million

The move marks a significant milestone in renewable energy cooperation between the Philippines and Vietnam.

Targeted for commercial operations between 2027 and 2028, the three projects are expected to be among the first large-scale pile-mounted Solar on Water developments in the Philippines.

Once operational, they are expected to generate enough clean electricity to power more than 278,000 homes annually while avoiding approximately 460,888 tonnes of carbon emissions each year–equivalent to the carbon sequestration of around 21 million trees.

The partnership was formally announced during “SunAsia and VinEnergo: A Celebration of ASEAN Partnership” held in Manila on June 17.

The projects will utilise Solar on Stilts technology, an innovative Solar on Water model in which solar panels are elevated on concrete pile structures above water areas, allowing aquaculture and fishpond operations to continue beneath and around the installations.

The approach demonstrates how renewable energy generation can coexist with food production and water resource management, supporting the Food–Energy–Water Nexus while preserving the traditional livelihoods of local communities.

Located in Pampanga and Negros Occidental, the projects are designed to maximise the productive use of water-based areas by enabling clean energy generation alongside aquaculture activities. Together, they are expected to serve as pioneering models for green development that balance energy security, food production, environmental stewardship, and community development.

The partnership is expected to help address growing power demand in Luzon and the Visayas while supporting the Philippines' transition to cleaner energy sources. Beyond power generation, the projects are expected to create employment opportunities, stimulate local economic activity, and support sustainable development in host communities.

“This partnership was born out of the shared resolve of SunAsia Energy and VinEnergo to advance energy security, support economic growth, improve the lives of our people, and help protect the planet,” said SunAsia Energy CEO and president Tetchi Capellan. “Through Solar on Stilts, we are not only building renewable energy infrastructure; we are creating a model where food production and clean energy can grow together.”

Capellan said the partnership presented a unique opportunity to integrate solar energy with aquaculture, particularly in Pampanga and Negros Occidental, where fishponds and aquaculture communities play an important role in local livelihoods and food production.

“The most exciting part of this partnership is the integration of aquaculture and energy production,” Capellan said. “Vietnam is one of the world’s leading shrimp exporters, while the Philippines has a strong history in shrimp production. By bringing together the experience, technology, and commitment of both countries, this partnership presents a compelling case for integrated solar-aquaculture farming from both a farm productivity and energy cost perspective.”

Over the next 18 months, SunAsia Energy and VinEnergo will work closely on engineering and project development activities, including the selection of maritime engineers, technology providers, and contractors for the installation of close to 700,000 solar panels on stilts and approximately 62 km of new transmission lines across Pampanga and Negros Occidental.

“We look forward to working with SunAsia Energy in bringing this innovative renewable energy model from vision to reality,” said Nguyen Anh Khoa, CEO of VinEnergo. “Solar on Water offers a unique opportunity to support green energy growth and responsible resource utilisation.”

The announcement comes as the Philippines hosts an ASEAN ministerial meeting, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in advancing energy security, climate action, food resilience, and sustainable development.

Aboitiz eyes deeper investment in Vietnam's energy, food security
Philippines-based Aboitiz Group is seeking to deepen cooperation and expand investments in Vietnam across energy, food security, and infrastructure.

Vietnam and Philippines strengthen cooperation in digital technology
Vietnam and the Philippines are set to boost cooperation in digital inclusion, e-government, and emerging technologies.

VinEnergo to invest $8 billion in Gia Lai wind power complex
VinEnergo has signed an agreement with Gia Lai province to study the potential for developing an $8 billion wind power complex.

Asia Pacific countries convene to advance green agricultural value chains and forest protection

Governments industry representatives smallholder organisations development partners and technical experts from across Asia Pacific are gathering this week in Vietnam to strengthen regional collaboration on traceable agricultural value chains that are decoupled from deforestation

The four-day regional exchange, held in Hanoi from June 23 to 26 and hosted by the Vietnamese government, is jointly organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Team Europe Initiative on Deforestation-free Value Chains.

The event comes at a time of growing regional and global attention to the links between agricultural production, trade and forest conservation. Across Asia-Pacific, commodities such as coffee, natural rubber and palm oil support the livelihoods of millions of farmers and contribute significantly to national economies.

At the same time, unsustainable cropland expansion remains an important driver of forest loss in parts of the region, highlighting the need for approaches that can support both sustainable production and forest protection.

Countries across the region are leveraging supply and demand factors to incentivise the transition to agricultural value chains decoupled from deforestation. Public traceability systems are increasingly being explored as a practical tool to improve transparency across supply chains, strengthen value chain governance, support responsible sourcing and help producers demonstrate sustainable practices.

For many countries in the region, developing effective traceability systems also presents an opportunity to improve data, strengthen coordination among stakeholders and empower smallholder farmers by linking systems to incentives for more sustainable production models.

The event brings together around 100 participants from 10 countries – Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam – including governments, industry bodies, smallholder representatives, international organisations and development partners.

“Forests are essential to resilient agrifood systems in Asia-Pacific,” said Vinod Ahuja, FAO representative in Vietnam. “Traceability systems can help countries connect forest protection with more transparent, inclusive and sustainable agricultural value chains. But they must be designed in ways that respond to national priorities and bring benefits to smallholder farmers, not only to markets.”

“Vietnam is committed to encouraging a transparent and effective traceability system, contributing to halting deforestation and ensuring sustainable forestry development. We will continue to work closely with our partners to strengthen the capacity of farmers and businesses, and to advance deforestation-free value chains,” said Tran Quang Bao, general director of VNFOREST.

“The transition towards deforestation-free value chains and public traceability systems – which will be a focus topic of this workshop - cannot be achieved by any one actor alone. It requires collective action across borders and across sectors,” said Cyril Loisel, first counsellor of EU Delegation to Vietnam.

Discussions will focus on practical ways to strengthen agricultural value chains for key forest-risk commodities, including natural rubber, palm oil and coffee, while reducing pressure on forests. Participants will exchange experiences and lessons from across the region, with particular attention to national traceability systems and their role in supporting forest conservation and rural development.

Building on these discussions, the exchange aims to develop a shared regional roadmap for traceable agricultural value chains decoupled from deforestation. The roadmap is expected to identify priority areas for regional collaboration, including on smallholder inclusion, green production models, responsible sourcing, policy coherence, data systems and finance.

As the host country, Vietnam will share national experiences of its public traceability efforts and support a field visit to a coffee processing facility. The visit will offer participants a practical view of value chain operations and the opportunities and challenges involved in building more traceable and sustainable commodity systems.

The exchange builds on an earlier FAO-hosted regional workshop held in Bangkok in August 2025, which laid the groundwork for stronger regional collaboration on decoupling agriculture from deforestation.

The Hanoi workshop will carry this process forward by helping translate shared priorities into a concrete roadmap for action. It marks a key milestone towards the establishment of a new initiative for sustainable commodities in Asia-Pacific.

The event also marks the launch of a new FAO e-learning course on Agrifood systems solutions for halting deforestation, developed in the context of the Japan-funded BiG-CHANCE scheme. This free online course provides practical guidance and tools to help identify solutions to address the drivers of deforestation and forest degradation, enabling participants to continue building their knowledge beyond the event.

$250 million deal targets women-owned SMEs, sustainable agriculture
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and BIDV have signed a $250 million syndicated finance package to support sustainable agriculture and expand access to finance for women-owned businesses.

Agribank and AFD sign climate finance deal to boost green growth
Agribank and the French Development Agency have signed a climate finance credit facility, marking a new step in international financial cooperation to promote green growth in Vietnam.

MAE proposes amendments to 10 laws to cut red tape
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is proposing to add the draft law amending and supplementing several articles of 10 laws in the fields of agriculture and environment to the national legislative programme.

Coteccons continues rise on Fortune Southeast Asia 500

Coteccons Construction has climbed to 285th place in the 2026 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 moving up 19 spots from the previous year

The annual ranking, compiled by US magazine Fortune, honours the 500 largest enterprises by revenue across seven Southeast Asian nations. Since debuting at 376th place in 2024, Coteccons has surged 91 positions, reflecting its scale expansion and improved competitiveness.

Financial indicators are gathered transparently from public data and verified by independent third-party auditing organisations, Refinitiv and S&P Global Market Intelligence.

In its latest publication released on June 17, Fortune marks Vietnam as a clear ‘new growth engine’ for the region. According to data, Vietnamese businesses achieved an average revenue growth rate of 10.5 per cent, significantly higher than the overall average of the list.

While accounting for less than 10 per cent of total Fortune Southeast Asia 500 revenue, Vietnamese firms contributed roughly a quarter of the entire list's revenue growth.

Concurrently, the region's growth momentum is increasingly shifting from the traditional heavyweights at the top towards the middle of the ranking – agile companies that are aggressively expanding their scale, fortifying capabilities, and climbing the global value chain.

In this macro-landscape, Coteccons stands out as a prime example of a Vietnamese company consistently elevating its position on the Fortune Southeast Asia 500.

In 2025, the company recorded approximately $980 million in revenue, $18 million in profit, and maintained a talent pool of nearly 3,000 employees.

Over three consecutive ranking cycles, Coteccons has risen from 376th place in 2024 to 304th in 2025, and now to 285th in 2026 – a steady and predictable growth trajectory. The consistent climb reflects the firm's expanding operational scale and solidifying competitive advantage despite intense industry volatility.

These calculated changes in strategy and corporate governance are clearly mirrored in Coteccons' scale and quality of growth.

In fiscal year 2026, the company is projected to cross $1.2 billion in revenue and $28 million in net profit. Simultaneously, its current backlog stands at a record $2.62 billion – the highest level in years – anchoring a rock-solid foundation for future growth periods.

This strong momentum is fuelled by both enhanced internal operational capabilities and key market trends, specifically Urbanisation, Industrialisation, and Going Global.

Among these strategic pillars, ‘Going Global’ is designated as a long-term spearhead to bring Vietnamese construction capabilities and workers to the international arena.

Coteccons is entering a transitional phase, shifting its focus from scale-driven expansion to quality-oriented growth

Alongside scaling up, Coteccons is optimising qualitative metrics including operational efficiency, cash flow quality, and risk management. The company's profit margins are projected to improve steadily, while days sales outstanding have dropped significantly – a decisive shift towards a more sustainable growth model.

The company's execution capabilities are anchored by a series of technically demanding, large-scale national infrastructure and commercial projects, such as the Gia Binh International Airport and the APEC Convention Centre in Phu Quoc Island. These milestones reinforce Coteccons' premier reputation among domestic clients and multinational corporations alike.

With this robust foundation, Coteccons is moving confidently into more complex, iconic, and high-value project segments, unlocking long-term growth potential.

Coteccons has made a significant mark on various key infrastructure projects in 2026, including the Phu Quoc APEC Convention Centre

Backed by a record backlog and expanding market opportunities, Coteccons is positioned to select transparent, high-value projects that align with its long-term strategy, risk management standards, and execution strengths, rather than chasing rapid growth at all costs.

Being honoured by Fortune for three consecutive years serves as a validation of these results and proves the business's readiness to capture upcoming industry opportunities.

"Coteccons is entering a strategic shift, moving from ‘growth’ to ‘quality growth'. This journey begins with disciplined governance, optimised operations, and robust execution capabilities.
Italy marks anniversary by celebrating women s eight decades of progress

Through 120 photographs and historical documents Italy s exhibition in Hanoi highlighted how women have shaped the country s political scientific and cultural transformation over the past eight decades

Marking the eightieth anniversary of the Italian Republic, the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi successfully concluded the photographic and documentary exhibition “Women of the Republic. Eighty Years of Achievements in ANSA’s News Coverage (1946-2026)” on June 21 at Casa Italia, following 10 days of public display that celebrated the contributions of Italian women to the country’s political, social, cultural and scientific development.

Produced by the Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA) of Italy and promoted abroad through the diplomatic and consular network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the exhibition retraces the institutional, social, cultural and scientific achievements of Italian women, from the birth of the Republic to the present day.

The exhibition, comprising 120 photographs and historical documents accompanied by captions in English and Vietnamese, begins with the institutional referendum of June 2, 1946, the first national election in which Italian women exercised their right to vote, and continues through the stories of leading figures in the country’s contemporary history: from Samantha Cristoforetti, the first Italian woman in space and the first European woman commander of the International Space Station, to Giorgia Meloni, the first woman to hold the office of President of the Council of Ministers.

Exhibition “Women of the Republic. Eighty Years of Achievements in ANSA’s News Coverage (1946-2026)”. Photo: Ha Vy

In an interview with VIR, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta said that 1946 was a landmark year in Italy's history, marking both the birth of the Republic and the first time Italian women exercised their right to vote in a national election. The exhibition commemorates not only the anniversary of the Republic but also the beginning of women's active participation in Italy's political life.

“However, the exhibition goes far beyond politics. Through photographs and historical documents, it illustrates the contributions of Italian women across all sectors of society, including culture, science, education and public life. This broader perspective constitutes the exhibition's central theme,” he added.

Reflecting on the lessons conveyed by the exhibition, Italian ambassador to Vietnam pointed out the importance of memory.

“Today, women's participation in social and political life is often taken for granted. Yet, only two generations ago, women in Italy were still excluded from political participation. The exhibition serves as a reminder that preserving historical memory is essential in understanding the progress societies have achieved,” the ambassador said. “The second lesson concerns the importance of institutions, legislation and parliamentary work. The exhibition demonstrates that, following the 1946 referendum, Italian women gradually acquired new rights and opportunities. It highlights how democratic institutions and lawmaking processes have a direct impact on the daily lives of citizens and play a crucial role in advancing equality and social progress.”

Regarding cooperation between Italy and Vietnam, while the two countries maintain strong political and economic dialogue, the ambassador noted that there was currently no dedicated bilateral dialogue specifically focused on gender.

“One important channel is parliamentary diplomacy. The recent visit to Italy by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man represented a significant step in enhancing parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. Parliamentary diplomacy provides an effective framework for discussing, comparing and sharing experiences on issues related to gender equality,” he said.

Women face growing workforce gap as AI reshapes industries
As the AI revolution reshapes global economies, Oanh Tran, head of People at HSBC Vietnam, reflects on a paradox emerging this International Women's Day.

Women-led businesses to enhance capacity
Many women-led enterprises in Vietnam will have opportunities to access critical financing and training, contributing to helping them mobilise green capital and enhancing their capacity.

High share of female candidates for 16th NA a very positive signal: UN Women official
45% of candidates for Vietnam’s 16th National Assembly (NA) being women reflects both the aspirations and the capacity of women to engage in decision-making processes, bringing their perspectives and experiences into law making and enforcement for the country’s development and prosperity.

Vietnam Airlines secures preliminary backing for 2 9 billion aircraft financing package

Vietnam Airlines has received a Preliminary Commitment from the Export Import Bank of the United States EXIM for financing support of more than 2 9 billion advancing funding arrangements for its planned acquisition of 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft

This is particularly true as a slew of legal hurdles have been resolved. Besides addressing the previous issues, it is vital to build a legal framework that embraces future business models.

Over the past few years, the National Assembly, the government, and various ministries and agencies have made enormous efforts to remove impediments in the Land Law, the Law on Housing, and the Law on Real Estate Business.

A series of specific resolutions has been issued to address long-stalled projects. Notably, Resolution No.170/2024/QH15 on special mechanisms to address problems relating to projects and land matters, while Resolution No.29/2026/QH16 expands the mechanisms for handling land law violations across over 3,300 real estate ventures. These resolutions are expected to remove lingering obstacles in the real estate market.

Bui Thu Thuy

Bui Thu Thuy, deputy director of the Foreign Investment Agency under Ministry of Finance

Amid the challenging global economic environment, international investment flows remain cautious. Vietnam continues to stand out as a bright spot in foreign investment attraction. This not only sends a positive signal to the economy but also opens up opportunities for sectors with long-term growth potential such as tourism real estate.

Despite geopolitical and trade fluctuations and global capital flow shifts, Vietnam remains a magnet for international investors. The latest data showed that total registered foreign direct investment (FDI) reached $24.81 billion in the first five months of 2026, rising 34.9 per cent on-year. Disbursed FDI was estimated at $9.75 billion, up 9.6 per cent on-year, marking the highest five-month disbursement level.

The capital was mainly focused on the manufacturing and processing sector. Meanwhile, the real estate sector also captured much attention from foreign investors thanks to long-term growth potential and the expansion of the tourism market.

Hoang Thu Hang

Hoang Thu Hang, deputy director of the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Department under the Ministry of Construction

The tourism real estate sector is well-positioned for positive growth, supported by an increasingly comprehensive and coherent policy framework.

In recent years, tourism real estate has experienced rapid development, while the legal framework has yet to keep pace with reality, leading to many gaps in market management and operation. The promulgation of the new Land Law and the Law on Real Estate Business has established a relatively comprehensive legal foundation for this asset class.

It is worth noting that the Land Law has clearly defined the land use rights for tourism and resort real estate ventures. According to current regulations, land for construction of tourism and resort facilities is classified as commercial service land. This is an important legal basis for investors to confidently implement projects and plan long-term investment strategies.

In addition, the land-use term is clearly defined as 50 to 70 years, enabling businesses to better plan for investment returns and operate projects more efficiently.

Tran Kim Chung

Tran Kim Chung, expert from Academy of Finance, former deputy director of the Central Institute for Economic Management

Despite global economic volatility, foreign capital continues to flow into Vietnam. The economic institutional system, the real estate market, and the tourism real estate sector are gradually becoming more comprehensive and coming to life. After administrative restructuring, localities are entering a new phase of operation. Meanwhile, the approval process for national, regional, and provincial master plans is being accelerated.

Against this backdrop, tourism real estate is gaining new momentum. As part of the tourism real estate development strategy following the provincial merger, Vietnam will form 7 strategic growth zones and 10 national tourism centres. Under the master plan, tourism hubs will be developed in association with cities and destinations with outstanding advantages, including Halong, Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Dalat, Vung Tau, Can Tho, and Phu Quoc.

Tourism real estate will be a key highlight for the next phase of development in Vietnam’s real estate market.

Nguyen Dinh Tho

Nguyen Dinh Tho, deputy director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Agriculture and Environment under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment

After years of debate over the legal framework governing condotels, tourism villas, and resort apartments, the major inconsistencies between land regulations and real estate business laws have now been largely resolved.

However, the greatest challenge is how to gain investor trust. One of the most common concerns among investors relates to the relationship between land-use terms and the actual lifespan of real estate assets.

According to current regulations, tourism real estate projects are granted land-use terms of 50 to 70 years. In practice, many resort properties can remain operational and generate value for hundreds of years with proper maintenance and management. This mismatch has led many investors to question the long-term value of such assets.

In the long term, Vietnam could consider classifying tourism real estate into two groups: long-term ownership and limited-term ownership, similar to many countries around the world. At the same time, tax instruments should be used to regulate the market instead of relying solely on the current land use term mechanism.

VIR seminar explores tourism real estate outlook for 2026
VIR has held a seminar in Hanoi to explore the outlook for Vietnam's tourism real estate market, as robust tourism growth creates new opportunities and unlocks significant potential for investors.

Tourism and infrastructure fuel Vietnam's real estate growth
Tourism real estate has become a key component of the national strategy for developing coastal cities, the marine economy, and tourism through to 2045.

Tourism real estate must create real cash flow
To generate sustainable values, tourism real estate must operate as a destination ecosystem to generate real cash flow and long-term trust.

span style font size 14pt Sisram Medical is advancing its energy based device rollout and injectables expansion in Thailand as part of its strategy to drive high quality growth across the APAC region span

HONG KONG, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sisram Medical Ltd (the "Company" or "Sisram", 1696.HK), a global wellness group offering Energy-Based Devices (EBD), injectables, and other complementary solutions, has officially rolled out its Soprano Titanium across Thailand. Supported by its on-the-ground local team and well-established sales network, Sisram has successfully expanded its footprint across both EBD and injectable lines, solidifying Thailand as a core strategic hub and unlocking substantial growth opportunities throughout Southeast Asia.

Building on its direct local sales operations launched in 2025 and long-term partnerships with leading aesthetic clinics, the Soprano Titanium has secured strong market uptake and broad recognition among local partners. This launch marks a major milestone for the Company's dual-engine growth strategy in Thailand. A pipeline of additional EBD models is currently undergoing local regulatory registration and is scheduled for release in the second half of 2026, further diversifying the Company's regional product portfolio.

Sisram's injectable business continues to deliver strong results in the market. Following a stellar performance in 2025, flagship product Profhilo has maintained robust momentum in Thailand's premium medical aesthetics sector throughout 2026. Widely adopted by top-tier clinics and seasoned practitioners, the product enjoys sustained end-consumer demand, bolstering Sisram's brand standing in the injectables segment and expanding industry collaboration locally.

With both EBD and injectable lines gaining solid market traction, Sisram is capitalizing on cross-business synergies to develop tailored combination treatment protocols that cater to sophisticated local market needs.
Tourism real estate must create real cash flow

To generate sustainable values tourism real estate must operate as a destination ecosystem to generate real cash flow and long term trust

Tran Diem My, vice chairwoman of Five Star Group shared her insights at a VIR seminar in Hanoi on June 23. She said, “In the new cycle, tourism real estate is no longer valued by expectations but by the ability to generate tourist flows, cash flows, and long-term trust.”

Vietnam boasts a unique tourism goldmine with a 3,260-km coastline, a rich heritage system, a diverse culture, and increasing attractiveness to international tourists. Indeed, tourism is becoming an important growth driver, stimulating the development of accommodation, transportation, trade, entertainment, and tourism real estate.

"Against the backdrop, it is important for Vietnam to transform the potential into real economic value,” My said. “While tourism creates tourist flows, it is tourism real estate that creates spaces for tourists to stay, experience, spend, and return.”

She pointed out three factors opening up opportunities for tourism real estate, including the strong recovery of domestic and international tourism, an increasingly refined legal framework, and investment capital seeking stable profit channels.

“Opportunities will not be accessible to all. Only businesses with quality products, transparent legal frameworks, secure finances, and operational capabilities can seize opportunities in the new cycle,” she added.

After a challenging period, real estate businesses have undergone transformation to adapt to new trends. Instead of chasing rapid growth at all costs, businesses focus on product quality, operational efficiency, and execution capacity. The market is moving towards real-world value rather than promising profits. The market is also shifting away from standalone projects towards the development of integrated resort ecosystems.

“Today’s customers don’t buy expectations, they buy certainty,” she said. “Customers are paying more attention to project legality, operating units, occupancy rates, customer base, and the ability to generate cash flow, rather than promises of profits.”

She noted the biggest issue today was not sales but restoring and sustaining trust. Customer trust isn't built on beautiful advertising messages, but on commitments made after customers have made their payment.

In addition, trust is built on transparent legality, on-schedule delivery, consistent quality, and especially proper operations as promised. A resort project only truly comes to life when it attracts guests, generates revenue, and encourages people to return.

However, it is vital to resolve some bottlenecks related to legal frameworks, capital flows, investor sentiment, and destination development capabilities.

Five Star Group is pursuing the strategy of creating iconic tourism destinations rather than developing standalone projects. The company doesn’t approach tourism real estate development with the mindset of building a standalone venture. Instead, it aims to develop tourist landmarks for each locality.

In particular, Five Star Odyssey and Five Star Poseidon in Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City are positioned as luxury 5-star hotel and apartment complexes in line with international standards. It features an integrated model of accommodation, shopping, entertainment, healthcare, and the nighttime economy.

Five Star Eco City, spanning 669 hectares at the southwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrates a long-term vision for the development of an ecological urban area and sustainable residential community.

Tourism and infrastructure fuel Vietnam's real estate growth
Tourism real estate has become a key component of the national strategy for developing coastal cities, the marine economy, and tourism through to 2045.

Resort developers carry out adjustments
Despite tourism real estate seeing widespread benefits as the country grows, the market is currently facing greater challenges than at any point in recent memory.

TAT signs tourism deals with Vietjet and four Vietnamese travel firms
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has signed cooperation agreements with Vietjet Air and four leading Vietnamese travel companies for the 2026-2029 period, aiming to stimulate two-way tourism and strengthen regional connectivity.

Agencies and market operators join forces to advance Vietnam carbon trading platform

On June 22 in Hanoi the Department of Climate Change under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a signing ceremony for stakeholders involved in Vietnam s domestic carbon exchange

Agreement between VSDC and VNX

The agreements signed include a coordination agreement between the MAE - represented by the Department of Climate Change, and the Vietnam Exchange (VNX), the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC), and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX); a coordination agreement between VNX and VSDC; a coordination agreement between VSDC and HNX; and a coordination agreement between VSDC and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).

The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Climate Change, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam, the Legal Department under the Ministry of Finance, leaders of VSDC, VNX, HNX and BIDV, as well as representatives from professional and technical units involved in preparations for the operation of exchange.

The signing of the coordination agreements marks an important milestone in implementing the government's Decree No.29/2026/ND-CP dated January 19, 2026, on the operation of the domestic carbon exchange.

It represents a concrete step toward establishing a coordinated mechanism between state management agencies and market infrastructure operators, laying the foundation for the safe, transparent and efficient operation of the domestic carbon market in line with the roadmap approved by the government.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Tuan Quang, acting deputy director general of the Department of Climate Change under the MAE, said climate change was posing increasingly significant challenges to sustainable development. Many countries have adopted carbon markets as an effective economic instrument to drive emission reductions at optimal costs for the economy.

Quang said that developing the carbon market was a key task stipulated in the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam’s Nationally Determined Contributions and supporting businesses’ green transition.

"The government’s issuance of Decree 29 has provided an important legal basis for establishing a market-based system for trading greenhouse gas emission allowances and carbon credits," he added.

Under the model, the MAE manages the National Registry System for greenhouse gas emission allowances and carbon credits; VSDC performs depository and settlement functions; HNX organises and operates the trading platform; VNX supervises trading activities; and the settlement bank conducts financial transactions in accordance with regulations.

The new agreements clearly define the responsibilities of each agency and organisation in data exchange, incident handling, supervision, information disclosure and related operations. This is intended to ensure the safe, transparent, efficient and seamless operation of the domestic carbon exchange once it becomes operational.

“The Department of Climate Change will continue to serve as the focal point of the MAE in managing and operating the National Registry System, while closely coordinating with the Ministry of Finance, the State Securities Commission, VSDC, VNX, HNX, the settlement bank, market participants and other relevant agencies to gradually ensure the effective operation of the domestic carbon exchange in accordance with the government-approved roadmap,” Quang said.

Hoang Van Thu, vice chairman of the State Securities Commission under the Ministry of Finance, commended the proactive coordination among regulators and market operators in preparing technical infrastructure, the legal framework and operational mechanisms. He noted that the signing ceremony demonstrated organisational and technological readiness as well as determination to launch the domestic carbon exchange on schedule.

“Today’s signing ceremony is of particular significance. It marks the close cooperation between state management agencies and market operators and also reflects the shared determination to fully prepare the necessary conditions for putting the domestic carbon exchange into operation,” Thu said.

He expressed confidence that the coordination agreements would establish a clear and effective framework among the parties, enabling them to maximise their respective capabilities, expertise and resources, thereby enhancing the implementation of the exchange. He also urged agencies and organisations to continue strengthening cooperation, sharing information, experience, and resources to ensure the exchange begins operating safely, transparently, and efficiently.

In recent years, carbon markets have expanded rapidly around the world. Alongside the growth of green trade and green investment and the emergence of cross-border carbon adjustment mechanisms, deeper participation in carbon pricing mechanisms has become increasingly essential for economies seeking to maintain competitiveness and fulfil international climate commitments.

Vietnam is developing its carbon market as an important tool to support greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and achieve net-zero by 2050. Through the trading of emission allowances and carbon credits, the market will help organisations and businesses optimise compliance costs, encourage investment in clean technologies and improve energy efficiency.

In parallel with building market infrastructure, the prime minister has approved the total greenhouse gas emission allowances to be allocated on a pilot basis to facilities in several key emitting sectors. This serves as an important step in creating an initial supply of tradable assets for the domestic carbon market and helping businesses gradually adapt to the mechanisms governing emission allowance management, trading and compliance.

Under government Decree 29, eligible greenhouse gas emission allowances and carbon credits will be registered in the National Registry System managed by the MAE, deposited at VSDC and traded on the exchange platform operated by HNX.

Vietnam sets launch date for domestic carbon exchange
Vietnam will launch its domestic carbon exchange at the end of June, marking a major step in the country’s efforts to develop a carbon market and participate in a global carbon credit industry projected to reach $24 billion by 2030.

Decree 112 sets legal framework for Vietnam's carbon market participation
Vietnam formally entered the international carbon market legal framework in April, following the launch of its Carbon Exchange in January.
SSCorp and DVL launch digital asset auction platform

SSCorp Vietnam and DVL Auction have launched an information system and digitalisation platform for asset auctions marking a new step in building digital data infrastructure for the sector

The platform, launched on June 23, comes as data becomes a strategic asset determining competitiveness in Vietnam's digital economy. Yet in the asset auction sector – a vital link in the market economy – data remains scattered, unstandardised, and poorly connected. Information on auction assets is published across multiple disparate systems, making it difficult for investors and businesses to access and hindering market management and analysis.

Against this backdrop, the establishment of a centralised data platform capable of large-scale digitalisation, standardisation, connectivity, and data analytics is deemed an inevitable requirement to enhance transparency, operational efficiency, and the ability to unlock value from the asset auction market.

According to Pham Vu Hiep, chief system and project architect and representative of SSCorp Vietnam, the goal goes beyond building a technological platform. It aims to develop an open data infrastructure capable of connecting various stakeholders within the ecosystem, including asset auction organisations, enterprises, financial institutions, investors, asset management units, technology partners, and regulatory agencies.

"Data will be the foundation of all modern governance. We believe the Vietnamese asset auction market has an opportunity to transition from traditional operating models to data-driven, digitalised, and smartly connected models. The platform was built with the expectation of contributing to a new data infrastructure for the market, enabling participating stakeholders to access information more fully, transparently, and effectively," Hiep stated.

The platform is developed on an open architecture, ready to integrate emerging technologies such as AI, big data analytics, cloud computing, process automation, and next-generation digital services.

Built on the philosophies of 'data first' and 'digital asset', the taisandaugia.vn platform is designed to serve as the digital data infrastructure for Vietnam's asset and asset auction ecosystem.

The platform focuses on developing five strategic pillars:

First, asset data digitalisation and governance: This helps standardise records, manage asset lifecycles, and form a centralised data repository to support management, utilisation, and decision-making.

Second, public disclosure of information and operational support in the digital environment: This contributes to expanding market access, enhancing transparency, and reducing organising costs.

Third, development of executive reporting systems, data analytics, and AI applications: This assists organisations and enterprises in effectively leveraging the value of data in governance and investment activities.

Fourth, development of an online asset auction environment: Equipped with the ability to trace, monitor, and log the entire operational process, this pillar helps bolster market confidence.

Fifth, acting as a connection hub for 'stakeholders' in asset auctions: It provides fast, comprehensive information and deeply understands the needs and capabilities of each entity. This allows for the most appropriate and optimal 'PROPOSALS' in every 'CASE, TASK, ETC.' related to assets needing auction, participating in purchasing/investing, conducting appraisals, or advising on solutions for executing/handling auction assets according to the Asset Owner's wishes.

SSCorp Vietnam aims to expand the platform into a SaaS platform, multi-tenant platform, API integration platform, and AI and data analytics platform. This will lay the groundwork for data services, analytics services, and new digital asset products to serve the digital economy.

The launch of the Vietnam Auction Asset Digitalisation Platform marks a developmental milestone for a Vietnamese tech enterprise and demonstrates a proactive spirit in mastering data and technology, building a Vietnamese-made digital platform for digital economic and social development.

As data becomes a new national resource for growth, specialised data infrastructure initiatives like this are expected to drive innovation, enhance governance efficiency, and create new growth momentum for the Vietnamese economy in the digital era.

MoF unveils digital reform roadmap through 2030
The Ministry of Finance has unveiled a far-reaching reform roadmap through 2030, targeting full digitalisation of administrative services, deeper decentralisation, and higher public satisfaction as key measures of government performance.

Vietnam government approves programme on development of digital economy and society
With government’s latest approval on development of the digital economy and digital society for 2026-2030, the country is concretising major policies, especially Resolution No.57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, and national digital transformation.

Keeping heritage authentic in a digital world
As digital technologies transform how destinations engage with global audiences, Hue city's challenge is no longer just preserving its rich cultural heritage, but ensuring centuries-old values remain authentic and relevant in the digital age.

Corporate bond maturity pressure set to ease sharply in Q3

Vietnam s corporate bond market showed further signs of improvement in the first five months of 2026 as early redemptions surged overdue payments remained contained and third quarter maturity pressure was projected to decline sharply

According to latest report from MB Securities (MBS) released on June 17, Vietnam’s corporate bond market continued to show positive signs in the first half of 2026, supported by a sharp increase in early bond redemptions, significantly lower maturity pressure in the third quarter (Q3), and a low ratio of overdue bonds relative to the overall market size.

MBS estimates that around $1.24 billion in corporate bonds will mature in Q3/2026, representing a 47 per cent decline from the same period last year.

Of the total, the real estate sector is expected to account for the largest share at approximately $756 million, equivalent to 61 per cent of all maturing bonds.

Regarding payment delays, two bond issues failed to meet principal and interest obligations in May, with a combined value of nearly $8.5 million.

As of the end of May, the total value of bonds with overdue payment obligations was estimated at $1.26 billion, equivalent to 2.3 per cent of the outstanding corporate bond balance across the market.

Meanwhile, early bond redemptions remained robust. In May alone, the value of corporate bonds repurchased before maturity reached approximately $1.6 billion, up 82.5 per cent on-year.

Banks accounted for 93.7 per cent of total early redemptions, with a value of around $1.49 billion, 3.5 times higher than a year earlier.

The real estate sector recorded early redemptions of approximately $96 million, down 77.4 per cent on-year and representing 6.2 per cent of the month's total redemption value.

In the first five months of 2026, total early bond buybacks reached approximately $3.26 billion, up 32.8 per cent compared to one year ago. The banking sector was the key driver, accounting for 80.6 per cent of total market-wide redemptions and posting a 211 per cent on-year increase.

On the primary market, issuance activity in May was broadly flat compared with the previous month. Total corporate bond issuance amounted to $2.12 billion, down 23.6 per cent from the same period of 2025.

Notably, the banking sector regained its position as the market’s leading issuer, with issuance value reaching $1.3 billion, up 70 per cent from April but down 32.3 per cent on-year.

The largest issuers during the month were Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank), which issued $360 million worth of bonds with tenors ranging from 36 to 120 months and coupon rates of 8.2–8.3 per cent per year; Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), which issued $320 million with maturities of 24–36 months and a coupon rate of 8.4 per cent per year; and Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB), which issued $120 million with tenors of 24–36 months and coupon rates of 8.5–8.6 per cent, per year.

In contrast, issuance by real estate developers fell sharply by 49.4 per cent from the previous month to $616 million, although the figure was still 23 per cent higher than a year earlier.

The sector’s weighted average coupon rate rose to 12.5 per cent, up 3.2 percentage points from April.

According to MBS, the increase was largely attributable to the impact of Vingroup Group’s international bond issuance in April, which carried a coupon rate of 5.5 per cent and accounted for roughly 30 per cent of the sector’s total issuance value, thereby lowering the average rate.

In May, however, large-scale bond issues were priced at around 12.5 per cent per year, pushing average yields higher once again.

As a result, the market-wide average coupon rate increased to 9.7 per cent in May, up 0.7 percentage points from the previous month. In terms of issuance method, private placements continued to dominate, accounting for approximately $2 billion, or 95 per cent of total domestic issuance.

From the beginning of the year through the end of May, total corporate bond issuance reached nearly $5.9 billion, up 3 per cent on-year. The weighted average coupon rate was estimated at 9 per cent, significantly higher than the 7.3 per cent recorded in 2025.

By sector, real estate remained the largest issuer, with total issuance reaching $2.79 billion, up 159.4 per cent from the same period last year and accounting for 47.4 per cent of the market’s total issuance volume. The sector’s average coupon rate stood at 9.5 per cent per year, with an average tenor of approximately four years.

The banking sector ranked second, with total issuance amounting to $2.54 billion, representing 43.2 per cent of the market.

The sector’s average coupon rate was 8.3 per cent per year, while the average tenor was 4.8 years. The largest bank issuers so far this year were Techcombank with $640 million, MBBank with $432 million, and OCB with $236 million.

Corporate bonds key to easing Vietnam’s long-term capital pressure
Vietnam will need an additional $20-30 billion in long-term capital each year to sustain growth, placing the corporate bond market in sharper focus as bank lending faces structural constraints.

Corporate bond market shows early recovery signs in 2026
Vietnam’s corporate bond market has shown early signs of recovery in 2026, with real estate driving issuance growth while default risks ease and debt recovery improves despite lingering macroeconomic uncertainties.

Corporate bond issuance slows in first quarter amid tight credit
Vietnam's corporate bond market saw limited activity in the first quarter of 2026, a seasonal lull due to the extended Lunar New Year holiday and a wait‑and‑see approach by issuers.

Tourism and infrastructure fuel Vietnam s real estate growth

Tourism real estate has become a key component of the national strategy for developing coastal cities the marine economy and tourism through to 2045

Prof. Dr. Tran Kim Chung of the Academy of Finance when he delivered a keynote speech at the VIR seminar, 'Tourism Real Estate Market 2026: Where Hospitality Meets Cash Flow' on June 23.

According to Chung, 2026 is considered a pivotal year as the Vietnamese economy enters a new development phase with a series of new policies on socioeconomic development, planning, and infrastructure investment. Against the backdrop, the real estate market is facing significant opportunities to enter a new development cycle.

There has been strong progress in institutional reform with amendments to the Land Law, the Law on Housing, and the Law on Real Estate Business to create a more synchronised legal framework for the real estate market. As a result, many impediments that have existed for many years have been removed.

In addition, local authorities are accelerating planning adjustments following the administrative reorganisation process and the implementation of national, regional, and provincial master plans. This lays an important foundation for the real estate market to develop in a more professional and sustainable manner.

“While the 2022-2024 period was characterised by market consolidation, 2026 marks the beginning of a new phase focused on quality growth. Among them, planning, infrastructure, and institutional reforms are set to play a decisive role,” Chung said.

“After a prolonged period of stagnation, the real estate market has recorded more positive signs across most segments in the first six months of 2026. Tourism real estate is the bright spot in the given period,” Chung added.

The national tourism master plan has laid an important foundation for the tourism real estate market. Development orientations are outlined in the marine economy development strategy, the tourism system planning for the 2021–2030 period, and the implementation plans for the national tourism master plan.

Under the master plan, Vietnam will establish three national tourism growth poles in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang, while developing key tourism areas stretching from the north to the south. In addition, a network of national tourism centres will be developed, including Halong, Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Dalat, Vung Tau, Can Tho, and Phu Quoc.

“The changes in planning are reshaping Vietnam’s tourism real estate landscape,” Chung noted.

Previously, tourism ventures were mainly standalone hotels or resorts. Today, there is an increasing number of large-scale, multi-functional complexes integrating accommodation, shopping, entertainment, conferences, healthcare, and education. Some developments span thousands of hectares, with some reaching 6,200 ha. These ventures are gradually forming new tourism cities.

The market is also witnessing strong product diversification, ranging from resort apartments, beachfront villas, and shophouses to new models that integrate hospitality, wellness, entertainment, and remote working.

Selling prices continue their upward trend. The high-rise segment recorded asking prices ranging from VND39–200 million ($1,500–7,700) per square metre, an increase of approximately 10 per cent from the previous year.

Destinations such as Phu Quoc and Halong continue to be a magnet to investments thanks to their advantages in infrastructure, tourism, and planning.

Many people are heading to Phu Quoc to buy condotels, while households are flocking to Halong to invest in hotel rooms. This reflects the strong investor interest in these tourism markets.
AI cuts Changzhou power connection planning from days to minutes

span style font size 14pt An AI powered digital upgrade to power supply services in Changzhou China has reduced custom power solution preparation time from 3–5 working days to just 3–5 minutes span

CHANGZHOU, China, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Businesses in Changzhou are benefiting from a groundbreaking digital upgrade to local power supply services, as AI technology slashes the time required for custom power supply solution preparation from 3-5 working days to merely 3 to 5 minutes, marking a landmark efficiency revolution for power grid service procedures.

At the business hall of State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company, corporate applicants can complete consultation and application for high-voltage power connection services in a highly streamlined process. After customer managers input key information including power consumption address, power usage category, supply voltage and approved contracted power capacity into the intelligent service system, a complete and standardized preliminary power supply plan can be automatically generated within 3 to 5 minutes.

This dramatic efficiency improvement stems from the in-depth deployment of State Grid's Guangming Large Language Model for Power Industry. Leveraging this dedicated AI large model, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power has developed an intelligent automatic generation scenario for power supply plans, eliminating lengthy manual review and drafting procedures that previously took several working days.

Launched as a pilot project in Jintan District, Changzhou in February 2026, the intelligent power service scenario has served more than 70 market entities of various types to date, earning widespread recognition and positive feedback from corporate end users.

Technology Empowerment and Cross-departmental Data Integration Underpin Service Upgrade

The core driver behind the remarkable service upgrade lies in comprehensive digital technology empowerment and cross-departmental resource integration. The intelligent service platform integrates multiple cutting-edge functions, including visual map-based operation, intelligent power supply route mapping and automatic filling of core business fields. Meanwhile, it incorporates full-spectrum standardized power handling rules and a comprehensive industry knowledge database.

The platform successfully breaks down long-standing data silos across marketing, distribution network, power dispatching and other internal departments of the power grid system. With multi-dimensional intelligent algorithm evaluation covering power supply economy, electricity consumption safety and grid operation reliability, the system can automatically match optimal wiring modes, equipment operation modes and transformer combination solutions for individual clients, delivering highly standardized and accurate power supply plans intelligently.

Before the launch of the AI-powered intelligent system, the whole procedure from application acceptance to final confirmation of grid connection and power receiving plans required 3 to 5 working days of manual review, communication and repeated revision. Official operational data shows that the new intelligent scenario has boosted the overall efficiency of power supply plan compilation by 90%. The adoption rate of system-recommended grid connection plans exceeds 80%, while the consistency rate of intelligently generated power receiving plans hits over 99.5%.

Two Core Transformations Reshape Public Power Service Logic

The AI-driven digital renovation brings two fundamental transformations to traditional power supply services. Firstly, the service model has shifted from passive response to customer demands to proactive identification and prediction of potential power consumption needs for enterprises. Secondly, service decision-making has evolved from experience-reliant manual judgment to data-driven intelligent analysis, ensuring both ultra-fast processing speed and high service accuracy.

In the long run, the optimized intelligent power service substantially cuts overall power connection time costs for enterprises and reduces social institutional costs for accessing public power services. It also acts as a key highlight for local governments to optimize business environments and bolster high-quality regional economic development.

Adhering to the service tenet of serving people through reliable power supply, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company will continue to advance digital and intelligent transformation of public power services. Following the successful practice of intelligent power connection plan generation, the company will expand the mature AI application model to more business scenarios, including energy efficiency diagnosis and intelligent electricity bill accounting. The company will further extend intelligent digital capabilities across full power service chains, refine overall service standards, and convert faster, smarter power grid services into tangible warmth and strong momentum for regional high-quality economic growth.

CARsgen wins world first CAR T cell approval for solid tumours

span style font size 14pt CARsgen Therapeutics announced that China s NMPA has approved Satri cel marking the world s first CAR T cell therapy product approved for solid tumours span

SHANGHAI, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CARsgen Therapeutics Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 2171.HK), a company focused on developing innovative CAR T-cell therapies, announced that as informed by the National Medical Products Administration ("NMPA") today, the New Drug Application ("NDA") of satricabtagene autoleucel ("satri-cel"), the proprietary autologous humanized Claudin18.2 CAR T-cell therapy product, was approved for the treatment of patients with Claudin18.2-positive, HER2-negative advanced gastric/ gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (G/GEJA) who have failed at least two prior lines of therapy. Satri-cel is the world's first approved CAR T-cell therapy product for the treatment of solid tumors.

Gastric cancer is one of the malignancies with the highest disease burden worldwide, ranking fifth in both incidence and mortality globally, with approximately 970,000 new cases and 660,000 deaths annually[1]. More than 70% of new and fatal cases occur in Asia[2], and Chinese patients account for approximately 47% of the global gastric cancer burden[3]. According to statistics from the National Cancer Center of China, there were approximately 360,000 new cases and 260,000 deaths from gastric cancer in China in 2022, ranking fifth in cancer incidence and third in cancer-related mortality[4]. Despite continuous advances in surgical techniques and comprehensive treatment modalities, gastric cancer is insidious in onset. In China, the proportion of early-stage gastric cancer diagnosis remains below 20%, and the 5-year survival rate for advanced gastric cancer is only about 10%[5]. Gastric cancer is characterized by high incidence, low early diagnosis rate, high heterogeneity, and high mortality. Conventional chemotherapy drugs have reached a plateau, targeted therapy options are limited, and the proportion and magnitude of benefit from immunotherapy still urgently need to be improved. Therefore, patients with unresectable or metastatic gastric cancer still face substantial unmet medical needs, and there is an urgent demand to drive the discovery and exploration of more precision therapies and novel anti-tumor agents.

Claudin18.2 is a highly selective marker protein. Its expression in normal healthy tissues is very limited, occurring only in differentiated gastric mucosal epithelial cells, whereas it is highly expressed in gastric cancer and other malignant tumors. Satri-cel is an autologous CAR-T cell product targeting Claudin18.2. It is genetically modified to express a CAR construct consisting of a humanized Claudin18.2-specific single-chain monoclonal antibody fragment (hu8E5-2I), a CD8α hinge region, a CD28 transmembrane region, a CD28 intracellular signaling domain (CD28 ICD), and a CD3ζ intracellular signaling region. To our knowledge, we were the first in the world to successfully identify, validate, and report the solid tumor-associated antigen Claudin18.2 as a valid target for CAR T-cell therapy. To further address the challenges of the tumor microenvironment in treating solid tumors, the company independently developed an innovative, patent-protected preconditioning regimen which is to be administered prior to infusion of satri-cel. This regimen features the addition of low-dose nab-paclitaxel to the conventional lymphodepletion regimen comprising cyclophosphamide and fludarabine to enhance the infiltration and anti-tumor efficacy of CAR T cells. The Company has implemented global patent layout around satri-cel, covering the target, indications, dosage, and preconditioning regimens, among others.

The clinical efficacy of satri-cel has received authoritative recognition from top international medical journals. The results of its confirmatory randomized controlled study have been published in The Lancet [6]. Clinical data show that among patients with advanced, heavily pretreated G/GEJ cancer who have extremely limited treatment options and a very poor prognosis, satri-cel demonstrated significant efficacy benefit and a good safety profile compared to existing treatments, bringing a new treatment option to patients with advanced gastric cancer. This major breakthrough not only establishes a new standard for CAR-T therapy in solid tumors but also lays a solid scientific foundation for advancing to earlier lines of therapy, exploring combination treatment regimens, and expanding applications to other Claudin18.2-positive solid tumors such as pancreatic cancer and biliary tract cancer.

Professor Lin Shen's team at Peking University Cancer Hospital led the clinical studies of satri-cel. Professor Shen commented, "For patients with advanced G/GEJA who have failed multiple lines of prior therapy, previous treatment options were extremely limited and the prognosis was very poor. The approval of satri-cel provides us with a novel and effective therapeutic weapon. This product has brought clinically meaningful and significant benefits to such patients, with remarkable efficacy that is difficult to achieve with existing treatment modalities. More importantly, as a CAR-T product, satri-cel offers patients the opportunity to break free from the constraints of frequent hospital visits for treatment, achieving a leap from 'prolonging survival' to 'improving quality of life.' As the world's first successfully marketed CAR-T therapy for solid tumors, satri-cel not only fills the gap in later-line treatment for advanced gastric cancer but also ushers in a new era of cellular therapy for solid tumors. This breakthrough lays a critical foundation for advancing frontline therapy and combination treatment strategies, and is expected to reshape the treatment landscape of gastric cancer and even gastrointestinal tumors. We believe that with the promotion of clinical application, this innovative therapy will illuminate new hope for life for the vast number of gastric cancer patients."

Dr. Zonghai Li, Founder, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Scientific Officer of CARsgen, stated, "The approval and launch of satri-cel is an important milestone event marking the advancement of CAR-T cell therapy from hematologic malignancies to solid tumors. This would not have been possible without the trust and support of the patients and their families who participated in the clinical trials, the investigator teams, partners, regulatory agencies, and relevant departments. We will go all out to advance the clinical application and market access of satri-cel, ensuring that this innovative therapy benefits Chinese patients widely and in a timely manner. At the same time, we will strive to expand this product to more countries and regions to meet greater medical needs. In addition, we are also exploring first-line sequential therapy and postoperative adjuvant therapy for advanced gastric cancer, with the aim of helping more patients achieve deeper therapeutic benefits and even the possibility of cure."

[1] World Health Organization (WHO).
SIM urges students to strengthen personal statements for university applications

span style font size 14pt Singapore Institute of Management has highlighted the growing importance of compelling personal statements as students face increasingly competitive university admission requirements span

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach Newswire - 22 June 2026 - In today's competitive education landscape, students are increasingly expected to do more than simply meet academic admission requirements. Education advisors say that writing a strong personal statement for university applications is becoming similar to crafting a compelling CV for a job application. While qualifications and grades may help applicants meet eligibility criteria, a personal statement allows prospective students to communicate their motivations, experiences, and aspirations beyond academic results.

Preparing Students Beyond Admissions
Over at the Singapore Institute of Management, most programmes primarily assess applicants based on academic qualifications and programme specific eligibility requirements. However, selected postgraduate programmes, such as the University of Birmingham Master of Business Administration offered at SIM, may require applicants to submit a Statement of Purpose as part of the admissions process. Even for programmes where a personal statement is not mandatory, education experts suggest that submitting one can still strengthen an application by providing additional context about the applicant's interests, goals, and readiness for higher education.

Tips for Writing a Strong Personal Statement
According to guidance from the University of Birmingham, a strong personal statement should clearly communicate an applicant's motivation, interests, and suitability for the programme. Admissions tutors note that the opening section is particularly important, as it creates the first impression and helps establish the applicant's enthusiasm and direction.

Education experts also recommend that applicants explain how their academic background, professional experiences, and personal achievements have shaped their interest in the chosen field of study. Relevant experiences such as internships, leadership roles, volunteer work, and professional accomplishments can help demonstrate initiative, growth, and readiness for higher education. Rather than simply listing activities, applicants should reflect on what they learned from these experiences and how they contributed to their personal development.

The University of Birmingham further advises students to avoid overly generic statements and instead tailor their applications to the specific programme they are applying for. Demonstrating an understanding of the programme structure, learning outcomes, and career relevance can help strengthen the application, particularly for postgraduate programmes such as the MBA.

Authenticity is another important factor highlighted by university admissions advisors. Applicants are encouraged to present a genuine reflection of their interests, ambitions, and experiences rather than relying on exaggerated language or generic phrases. In terms of structure, admissions guidance generally recommends presenting information in a clear and organised manner. A strong personal statement typically includes an introduction outlining academic or professional interests, relevant experiences and achievements, career aspirations, and reasons for choosing the programme. Applicants should also proofread carefully to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and consistency throughout the document.

Reference:

SIM Application Process - https://www.sim.edu.sg/degrees-diplomas/admissions/application-process

What makes a great personal statement - https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/accessibility/transcripts/personal-statement

How to write a statement for MBA - https://www.inspirafutures.com/blog/how-to-write-a-statement-of-purpose-for-mba-admission

MBA Statement of Purpose Examples - https://bemoacademicconsulting.com/blog/mba-statement-of-purpose-example

 https://www.sim.edu.sg/
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

The summit was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, with attendance from nearly 2,000 religious, youth, and academic leaders worldwide.

In his opening address, Dr. Al-Issa emphasized the historic responsibility of religious leaders regarding issues that concern the peace of our world and the harmony of its societies. He highlighted the important role entrusted to young people, particularly in addressing the risks associated with unrestricted exposure to modern technology—especially artificial intelligence—without intellectual safeguards or ethical protection. He stressed the importance of religious diplomacy in defusing crises, affirming that the world does not need more weapons, but rather more wisdom to prevent their use.

On the sidelines of the summit, His Excellency met with a group of youth leaders and university students from ASEAN countries in an open dialogue that explored mechanisms for implementing the summit's outcomes, enhancing youth awareness, empowering young people, and building their capacities to address ethical gaps in information and communication technologies, particularly those related to artificial intelligence.

During the meeting, His Excellency stressed that the lack of transparency and accountability constitutes one of the most serious ethical challenges associated with artificial intelligence, as it can be difficult to understand how certain systems make decisions. He noted that biases embedded in data may result in unfair decisions and discrimination against individuals and groups.

The summit also witnessed the announcement of the International Diplomacy Award, reflecting the strategic partnership between the Muslim World League and Malaysia. The award aims to promote the values of moderation, tolerance, and constructive dialogue, while supporting the vision of "Malaysia Madani". The award will be presented to individuals and institutions demonstrating outstanding impact in promoting peace and human unity.
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
