Business confidence rebounds as firms accelerate AI adoption and ASEAN expansion

Business sentiment in Vietnam is rebounding strongly despite a challenging operating environment marked by rising costs and heightened global uncertainty including ongoing geopolitical tensions and trade related pressures

The UOB (United Overseas Bank) Business Outlook Study 2026, released on June 22, showed that 85 per cent of Vietnamese businesses report positive sentiment, a significant recovery from 48 per cent in 2025, when confidence was impacted by disruptions related to US tariff developments.

Looking ahead, optimism remains robust. More than nine in 10 businesses expect improved performance in 2026, with stronger revenue growth anticipated in 2027-2028. However, macroeconomic challenges continue to weigh on operations. Nearly half of businesses report rising costs driven by tariffs and geopolitical tensions, highlighting an increasing need for solutions that enhance efficiency, manage costs and support long-term transformation in a more complex environment.

Beyond ongoing concerns about trade and geopolitics, energy management has become a key strategic priority for Vietnamese businesses. Even before the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the study found that 96 per cent of businesses in Vietnam consider energy management and efficiency important, compared with the regional average of 87 per cent.

Against the backdrop of global energy volatility and supply risks, businesses are adopting a more structured and proactive approach to energy usage. More than half (55 per cent) prioritise securing stable and resilient energy supply for operations, while 53 per cent focus on optimising energy usage and 47 per cent on reducing consumption and improving efficiency.

To achieve these goals, companies are increasingly investing in solutions such as energy-efficient machinery (43 per cent) and solar energy (42 per cent), balancing cost management with operational resilience.

In parallel, Vietnamese businesses are advancing their digital transformation journeys, with AI emerging as a key enabler of growth. While adoption is still at an early stage, eight in 10 businesses have begun implementing AI, although only 25 per cent have deployed advanced AI capabilities.

The study highlights that digital maturity is a critical enabler, with businesses that have more integrated digital systems significantly more likely to adopt AI solutions.

AI is already delivering tangible benefits, with companies reporting gains in productivity (49 per cent), cost efficiencies (47 per cent) and revenue growth (46 per cent). Reflecting growing confidence in its potential, two in three businesses plan to increase their AI investment budgets by more than 25 per cent in 2026.

However, challenges remain. Key barriers to adoption include cost and financial constraints (49 per cent), limitations in AI solutions and partner ecosystems (48 per cent), and gaps in data and system readiness (47 per cent).

Supply chain management continues to be a top priority, with 97 per cent of Vietnamese businesses identifying it as critical. While disruptions have eased compared with previous years, challenges persist, particularly from geopolitical risks (40 per cent) and procurement complexity (34 per cent). Regulatory ambiguity also remains a concern, affecting 88 per cent of businesses.

To strengthen resilience, Vietnamese companies are actively diversifying their supply chains. Four in five businesses in Vietnam plan to expand their supplier networks in 2026, with more than half looking to increase suppliers within ASEAN and 23 per cent focusing on domestic sourcing.

Nearshoring strategies are also gaining momentum. About one in three Vietnamese businesses intend to establish or expand manufacturing operations in Vietnam, while many are also considering broader ASEAN expansion (43 per cent), reinforcing the region’s role as a key manufacturing and supply chain hub.

This shift is driving a strong push towards overseas expansion. Seven in 10 Vietnamese businesses expanded overseas in 2025, and nine in 10 plans further expansion over the next three years. Similarly, 80 per cent of Vietnamese businesses intend to invest abroad within the next two years, with an average planned investment of more than $28 million.

ASEAN remains the preferred destination, selected by 65 per cent of Vietnamese businesses for expansion, with Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia emerging as top markets. However, companies also face challenges, particularly in navigating legal, regulatory, compliance and tax requirements (36 per cent), identifying suitable local partners (36 per cent), and accessing collaboration opportunities with established firms or government-linked entities.

To support businesses in navigating regulatory and operational complexities and advancing their cross-border ambitions, UOB leverages its regional capabilities and 11 Foreign Direct Investment Advisory Centres across Asia to facilitate cross-border investment, providing market access, regulatory guidance and local connectivity. The bank also supports complex regional supply chain management requirements, strengthened by the rollout of its Financial Supply Chain Management solutions on UOB Infinity in Vietnam, enabling end-to-end supply chains to be managed digitally on a single platform across multiple markets.

Annie Pham Nhu Anh, head of Wholesale Banking, UOB Vietnam, said, “Vietnamese businesses are demonstrating strong resilience and adaptability in an increasingly complex global environment. We are seeing a clear shift from recovery to transformation, with companies investing in digital capabilities, strengthening supply chains and expanding across ASEAN to capture long-term growth opportunities.

As a leading ASEAN bank with deep local expertise and one of the region’s most extensive networks, UOB is uniquely positioned to support these ambitions. We remain committed to partnering with our clients at every stage of their journey, enabling them to navigate uncertainty, unlock cross-border opportunities and scale sustainably across the region.”

Now in its seventh year, the UOB Business Outlook Study has been refreshed with a bi-annual cadence and expanded focus areas, reflecting the rapidly evolving economic and geopolitical landscape.

The 2026 study covers seven markets: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mainland China, and Hong Kong. In Vietnam, the findings are based on a 15-minute online survey of 226 businesses, including both large and medium-sized enterprises across the country.

Businesses contribute to draft amended Customs Law
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance, on June 11, organised a workshop to gather business opinions on the draft law amending and supplementing several articles of the Customs Law.

Hanoi offers incentive for businesses to develop rental housing
Hanoi People's Council has approved a resolution to support investment in housing development, with a focus on rental housing for workers and priority groups.

Global shocks and tightening cash for Vietnamese business
While geopolitical tensions may be easing, PwC Vietnam has warned that Vietnamese companies should use the current window of relative calm to strengthen liquidity, rather than wait for market conditions to fully normalise.

Vietnam and WB strengthen cooperation

Water security is expected to become part of a long term cooperation framework between Vietnam and the World Bank contributing to the realisation of sustainable development goals and enhancing resilience to climate change

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung on June 19 received Saroj Kumar Jha, global director for the World Bank Group's Water Department, and Mariam Sherman, WB Division director for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, to discuss cooperation in water security, climate resilience and sustainable development.

Photo: VGP

The DPM said he valued the WB’s role as one of Vietnam’s leading development partners over the past three decades. He noted that the bank’s support has made significant contributions to the country’s socioeconomic development, from infrastructure development and institutional reform to personnel development, green growth and sustainable development.

In particular, the WB-supported programmes and projects in agriculture and environmental protection have helped enhance water resource management, strengthen food security, improve livelihoods and boost resilience and adaptation to the growing impacts of climate change, he said.

He stressed that Vietnam is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, especially in the Mekong Delta and major river basins. Ensuring water security is not only an urgent short-term priority but also a long-term strategic task crucial to food security, social stability, economic growth and people’s livelihoods.

Jha said that the WB was working closely with Vietnamese agencies, particularly the Ministry of Finance and relevant units, to formulate a new Country Partnership Framework for the next five years. He noted that Vietnam’s priorities in water security, climate change response and sustainable development aligned closely with the WB’s cooperation agenda.

According to Jha, the “Water Forward” initiative and water security programmes will be among the key pillars of collaboration between the WB and Vietnam. Beyond financial resources, the bank aims to provide knowledge, international expertise, technical assistance and high-quality advisory services to help the country address emerging development challenges.

The WB is carrying out numerous programmes in the Mekong Delta, with a focus on pressing issues like saltwater intrusion adaptation, livelihood protection, and climate resilience improvement. The bank expects to work closely with Vietnamese authorities to accelerate the implementation of projects that are largely ready, thereby creating additional momentum for the region’s sustainable development.

The WB stands ready to accompany the country in considering and mobilising climate finance and other international funding sources to support climate change adaptation, ensure water security and encourage green development.

Vietnam faces challenges in ensuring water security
With a growing population, increasing demand for water and the negative impacts of climate change, Vietnam faces major challenges in ensuring water security.

Over 120 climate-resilient ponds enhance water security for farmers
A total of 121 climate-resilient ponds have been built as part of a project funded by the Green Climate Fund.

Vietnam and South Korea cooperate on water security
Vietnam's Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung and South Korea's Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Kim Sungwhan on April 21 signed an MoU on water security.

Cooling crude oil prices temper Vietnam s oil and gas stock rally

Global oil prices have retreated following a de escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran reducing geopolitical support for oil and gas stocks while leaving long term industry fundamentals largely intact

On June 18, the United States and Iran announced that they had signed an MoU aimed at ending the conflict. The 14-point memorandum marked the beginning of a 60-day negotiation period, during which Iran agreed to allow the free passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil and gas shipping routes.

The oil market reacted immediately to the announcement, sending crude prices sharply lower. Brent crude oil futures fell 1.1 per cent to $78.70 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 1.3 per cent to $75.80 per barrel.

The development has not only affected international oil markets but has also had a direct impact on Vietnamese oil and gas stocks, one of the sectors most sensitive to fluctuations in crude prices.

Oil and gas stocks are losing part of the growth momentum due to geopolitical tensions

For oil and gas companies, oil prices remain a key variable influencing investment activity, exploration, production and profitability. As a result, declining oil prices often trigger mixed reactions across the industry.

In the short term, oil price movements will continue to play a decisive role in determining the direction of oil and gas stocks. As the sector’s rally loses momentum, many industry stocks have recorded notable corrections.

For example, shares of PVB, operated by PV Coating JSC, declined from their peak of $1.68 per share established in March 2026 to $1.03 per share on June 18, representing a drop of 38.5 per cent.

Over the past month, shares of PVD, owned by PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PV Drilling), have fallen more than 15.5 per cent.

Shares of PVT, operated by PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans), declined 14.23 per cent, while BSR, owned by Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC, lost more than 21 per cent. Compared with its peak of $1.51 per share on March 4, BSR was trading at $1.07 per share on June 18, equivalent to a decline of more than 29.4 per cent.

In Vietnam, the companies most directly affected are those operating in the upstream segment and in oilfield technical services.

Businesses such as PV Drilling and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) typically benefit when oil prices remain elevated.

Under such conditions, global energy groups tend to accelerate exploration and production activities, driving demand for drilling rigs, oil and gas engineering services and offshore operations.

Conversely, when oil prices decline or the outlook for further price increases weakens, the market often becomes concerned that new investment plans will be reviewed more cautiously. This tends to place profit-taking pressure on oilfield service stocks following periods of strong gains.

PTSC maintained positive growth momentum during the first five months of 2026 as a number of oil and gas and renewable energy projects entered their peak implementation phase.

The company reported consolidated revenue of $540.6 million, fulfilling 41 per cent of its annual target and up 34 per cent on-year. Net profit after tax reached $22.5 million, equivalent to 57 per cent of the full-year target and up 11 per cent from the same period last year.

According to Kafi Securities, PTSC’s total revenue for 2026-2030 is projected to reach between $8.4 billion and $8.8 billion, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 15 per cent.

For midstream operators, including oil and gas transportation companies such as PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans), the impact is generally viewed as more neutral. During periods of geopolitical tension, oil freight rates typically rise as marine insurance costs increase.

As conflict risks subside, this advantage may diminish considerably. On the positive side, however, global oil transportation volumes could increase if Iranian supply returns to the market. This would help offset part of the impact from easing freight rates.

Analysts at Saigon- Hanoi Securities JSC expect PVTrans’s profit margins to improve in 2026.

The company is entering a harvesting phase following an aggressive fleet expansion cycle during 2023-2025. The addition of numerous new vessels has driven rapid growth in revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation, while depreciation pressure has gradually eased since the second half of 2025 as several large vessels completed their accelerated depreciation schedules.

In the downstream segment, represented by Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC, the impact of oil prices is often more complex. Lower oil prices help reduce feedstock costs and fuel consumption demand.

However, business performance also depends on movements in the crack spread, the margin between crude oil prices and refined petroleum product prices.

As a result, a decline in oil prices does not necessarily translate into a corresponding increase in profitability.

If the agreement between the United States and Iran is maintained over the long term, the cooling trend in oil prices could continue in the coming months. This would mean that oil and gas stocks are likely to lose part of the growth momentum previously supported by geopolitical factors.

Nevertheless, over the longer term, the positive business outlook of many oil and gas companies could still create noteworthy investment opportunities.

Shares rise on large-caps and oil stocks
The Vietnamese markets started the week on a positive note on Monday morning thanks to the performance of large-cap stocks and oil stocks.

Shares go up thanks to oil stocks
Vietnamese shares increased on Friday morning, aided by energy and petroleum stocks.

Local oil stocks rebound as OPEC cuts output
As soon as the OPEC members have started cutting the output, the global oil price has steadily upgraded, leveraging up the local oil stocks these days.

Talent pressures reshape priorities for accounting practices

Small and medium sized accounting practices are seeking new ways to attract and retain talent amid growing skills shortages and rapid changes in the accountancy profession according to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA

To help firms respond to these challenges, ACCA on June 9 launched its SMP Talent Management Toolkit, a two-part resource designed to strengthen recruitment, skills development and employee retention.

The initiative was introduced ahead of the United Nations' Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day on June 27 as part of ACCA's global campaign focused on talent development within the SMP sector.

The launch comes at a time when accounting practices are facing increasing pressure to adapt to technological change, rising client expectations and shifting career priorities among younger generations entering the profession. Advances in AI and automation are also reshaping the skills required of finance professionals and changing how firms deliver services.

Against this backdrop, the toolkit draws on findings from ACCA's Global Talent Trends 2026 survey, which gathered responses from 11,389 finance and accountancy professionals across 160 countries, alongside insights from practitioners working in small and medium-sized firms worldwide.

ACCA's new toolkit aims to help accounting practices attract, develop and retain talent. Photo: ACCA

The survey found that many of the qualities sought by today's workforce, including meaningful work, broad professional exposure, direct impact and strong client relationships, align closely with the opportunities typically offered by smaller accounting practices.

According to ACCA, the ability to engage and develop talent is becoming increasingly important for smaller firms as they seek to adapt to changing client demands and a rapidly evolving business environment.

"The accountancy profession plays a central role in the health and resilience of the small- and medium-sized enterprise sector. The practitioners joining firms today will be the trusted advisers of tomorrow's small businesses, and how we develop talent now determines what becomes possible for the profession, and for the businesses and communities it serves," said Aleksandra Zaronina-Kirillova, head of SME professional insights at ACCA.

To support firms in addressing these workforce challenges, the toolkit comprises two complementary publications.

The first, aimed at practice leaders, provides guidance across the talent management cycle, covering recruitment, professional development and employee retention. It includes practical recommendations, learning and skills frameworks, guidance on AI-related upskilling, case studies and experiences shared by firms in Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland and Sri Lanka.

The second publication targets prospective employees, including school-leavers, graduates, career changers and experienced professionals considering a move into smaller practices. It outlines career development opportunities within SMPs and provides practical career advice and skills development guidance based on ACCA's Career Paths Reimagined 2026 research.

Both publications draw on findings from Global Talent Trends 2026 and feature video case studies from accounting professionals and practice leaders in Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland, South Africa and the UK.

As part of the initiative, ACCA will host a webinar on June 30 focusing on skills shortages in the SMP sector. The session will examine recruitment strategies, onboarding practices, workplace learning and mentorship schemes aimed at strengthening talent pipelines within smaller firms.

ACCA rolls out career workshops for Vietnamese students and teachers
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants has held a workshop in Hanoi to help operationalise career guidance at school level following new regulatory direction.

Career guidance aligned with global norms gain traction
Moves to reinforce career guidance in general education are advancing, supported by initiatives that incorporate international professional standards into pathways for secondary school students.

Vietnam’s finance professionals redefine career expectations
Vietnam’s finance and accountancy workforce is increasingly driven by social purpose, entrepreneurial ambition, and demands for greater career flexibility, according to new research from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Maybank Investment Bank increases charter capital to over 134 million

On June 22 Maybank Investment Bank completed a charter capital increase of VND1 29 trillion 49 62 million raising its total charter capital from 84 62 million to 134 23 million an increase of nearly 59 per cent

Over 19 years, the company’s capital has expanded more than seventeen-fold.

The strengthened capital position enhances MSVN’s capacity to support business expansion, invest in technology and product development, and meet growing client demand across Vietnam’s capital markets.

The increase comes at a time when Vietnam’s capital market continues to deepen, supported by regulatory reforms and progress in the country’s market upgrade roadmap. These developments are expected to improve market accessibility and attract broader participation from both domestic and international investors.

Kim Thien Quang, CEO of Maybank Investment Bank, said, "This capital increase represents a strategic step in advancing Maybank’s ROAR30 vision in Vietnam. It strengthens our ability to facilitate investment flows, reinforces our role as a bridge connecting Vietnam and ASEAN, and accelerates our transformation into a comprehensive wealth management advisory platform."

"With a stronger capital base, MSVN will continue expanding its product ecosystem, enhancing its research and advisory capabilities, and deepening investor connectivity to support the next phase of Vietnam’s capital market growth.

"Vietnam remains one of ASEAN’s fastest-growing economies and a key market in Maybank Group’s long-term regional strategy. Backed by the group’s financial strength and extensive network, MSVN is well-positioned to serve as an effective bridge between investors and businesses while contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s financial markets."

As part of Maybank Investment Banking Group, a leading franchise in ASEAN, MSVN remains focused on sustainable growth and long-term value creation. MSVN has also advised and arranged landmark transactions for leading Vietnamese corporations, including four VND-denominated bonds guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility since 2023, connecting issuers with high-quality regional funding sources.

Maybank highlights Vietnam’s path to sovereign upgrade at VIR workshop
Vietnam's government should be focusing on gaining an upgrade to its sovereign rating as it attempts to mobilise funds for its nation-building ambitions.

CGIF backs SCommerce's $22.3m bond to advance Vietnam's logistics sector
An Asian Development Bank trust fund – Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility – has guaranteed SCommerce Investment Corporation’s debut bond issuance, a seven-year, VND580 billion ($22.3 million) fixed-rate amortising bond.

Vietcap signs $170 million syndicated loan facility
Vietcap Securities has signed a $170 million syndicated loan agreement with a greenshoe option allowing the facility to be increased to up to $370 million – an option that permits the underwriters to sell additional shares to meet strong investor demand.

SBV proposes raising short term lending cap to 40 per cent

The State Bank of Vietnam has proposed raising the cap on short term funding used for medium and long term lending from 30 per cent to 40 per cent

The draft amendments, announced on June 17, would increase maturity mismatches in banks' funding structures and heighten liquidity risks, according to a Moody's Ratings report.

The proposed change follows a period of rapid credit expansion by Vietnamese banks that supported robust economic growth but also contributed to tighter systemwide funding conditions. To alleviate these pressures, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has proposed allowing banks greater flexibility in using short-term funding to finance longer-term lending.

While this may ease competition for long-term funding and reduce pressure on net interest margins, Moody’s expects the increased reliance on short-term funding to raise refinancing risks and exacerbate maturity mismatches, thereby increasing liquidity vulnerabilities.

In May, the SBV also proposed the introduction of Basel III-aligned liquidity ratios, including the credit-to-deposit ratio (CDR), liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) and net stable funding ratio (NSFR) to be implemented in phases from 2027. These measures will align Vietnamese banks’ liquidity risk management more closely with international standards. The revised CDR will capture a broader range of credit exposures, including loans, corporate bonds held on balance sheet, and other credit extensions where banks bear credit risk.

At the same time, the LCR will require banks to hold sufficient high-quality liquid assets to withstand short-term stress scenarios, while the NSFR promotes more stable funding over 12 months. As of December, banks’ stock of high-quality liquid assets remained modest, at around 8.3 per cent of tangible banking assets. Collectively, Moody's expects these ratios to encourage banks to strengthen liquidity buffers and improve asset-liability management practices overtime. However, the benefits over the next 12–18 months are likely to be limited because of their phased-in implementation and potential execution challenges.

Overall, the two policy directions highlight a trade-off between supporting credit growth and strengthening financial stability. While the relaxation of funding caps may address near-term funding constraints, it also weakens banks’ liquidity risk profiles. Still, the introduction of Basel III-aligned ratios provides a longer-term framework to mitigate these risks, although their effectiveness will depend on the pace and quality of implementation.

Interest rates under growing pressure as credit expansion outpaces deposits
Commercial banks are under mounting pressure as credit growth accelerates ahead of deposits, liquidity tightens, and exchange-rate fluctuations challenge efforts to keep interest rates stable through year-end.

Banks cut rates as credit growth gains pace
At a briefing in Hanoi on April 14, the State Bank of Vietnam's (SBV) executive representative announced the results of banking operations in Q1, with coordinated rate cuts, accelerating credit growth, and flexible policies supporting macroeconomic stability and growth.

SBV pushes Basel III adoption with new liquidity measure
The State Bank of Vietnam is accelerating the adoption of international Basel III banking standards by transitioning from the traditional loan-to-deposit ratio to a more stringent credit-to-deposit ratio.

Carlsberg Vietnam has taken part in a green cycling event in Danang to mark 55 years of diplomatic relations with Denmark and reinforce its sustainability pledge

Held from June 20-22, it brought together government representatives, businesses, and citizens to discuss sustainable urban development, green mobility, and quality of life.

As a Danish company that has proudly been part of Vietnam for more than 30 years, Carlsberg Vietnam was pleased to join the Embassy of Denmark and local authorities in supporting a shared vision of greener, healthier and more liveable communities.

With Danang playing an important role in the company's journey in Central Vietnam, Carlsberg Vietnam remains committed to contributing to the city's sustainable development through initiatives that create lasting value for both people and the environment.

The company's leadership team joined employees and community members in promoting greener mobility

One of the highlights of the event was the strong participation of Carlsberg Vietnam employees alongside the company’s leadership team.

Cycling together with representatives from the Embassy of Denmark, local authorities, and community members, participants experienced first-hand how simple everyday choices can contribute to cleaner cities, healthier lifestyles, and more sustainable communities. The event also featured the exhibition 'Liveable Cities – Bicycle Cities', showcasing examples of how urban planning and mobility solutions can help create more people-centred and environmentally friendly cities.

“Danang is one of Vietnam’s most dynamic and forward-looking cities, and we are pleased to support initiatives that encourage more sustainable ways of living,” said Khan.

"We believe that creating a better tomorrow starts with people. Whether in our breweries, our communities or our everyday lives, progress is made when individuals choose to take action. Seeing so many colleagues come together for this event is a powerful reminder that sustainability is not just about what we aim to achieve in the future, but about what we choose to do today," he added.

The cycling event has built on a series of sustainability and community initiatives undertaken by Carlsberg Vietnam under 'Brewing Tomorrow' – Carlsberg Group’s sustainability drive – which is guided by four ambitions: cutting carbon, protecting nature, inspiring choices, and empowering people.

Earlier this year, more than 150 employees, leaders, family members and partners joined the company’s World Environment Day in Danang, taking part in a coastal clean-up activity that collected more than 1.3 tonnes of waste. Together, these initiatives demonstrate how collective action can help create meaningful impact within local communities.

While community initiatives represent one visible aspect of the company's sustainability journey, sustainability is also embedded throughout Carlsberg Vietnam's operations.

At Phu Bai Brewery in Hue – currently the largest brewery in Carlsberg Asia following its recent expansion – sustainability ambitions are being translated into tangible actions across climate, water and circularity.

The brewery has made significant progress in advancing circular packaging solutions. Today, 100 per cent of packaging waste generated on site is recycled, while all of its glass bottles are returnable. In addition, all the CO₂ generated during fermentation is captured and reused within the production process, while advanced heat recovery systems help improve energy efficiency across operations.

Earlier this year, Carlsberg Vietnam also achieved Zero Waste to Landfill status through comprehensive waste segregation and circular waste management solutions. Non-recyclable waste is diverted to waste-to-energy facilities, while wastewater sludge is converted into fertiliser for agricultural use.

Looking ahead, Carlsberg Vietnam continues to invest in renewable energy initiatives, including the implementation of a rooftop solar project later this year, further strengthening its sustainability roadmap and supporting Carlsberg Group’s ambition of achieving net-zero emissions across the value chain by 2040.

As Danang continues its journey towards becoming a greener and more liveable city, Carlsberg Vietnam remains committed to supporting that ambition through meaningful partnerships and practical action.

Through Brewing Tomorrow, sustainability is not just about how Carlsberg Vietnam brews beer. The line is estimated to require an investment of around VND389.5 trillion ($15.3 billion).

Metro Line 2, with a length of approximately 56.5km, will link Noi Bai International Airport with central Hanoi and Hung Vuong Stadium. Total investment is projected at VND317.4 trillion (12.4 billion).

Metro Line 10 will extend around 43km, linking Co Loa with the city centre via Vo Chi Cong Road, Ring Road 3, and Ring Road 2.5. The line is expected to cost about VND206.8 trillion ($8.1 billion).

Meanwhile, Metro Line 14, approximately 32km long, will connect the Thang Long Bridge area, Hong Ha and Ocean Park, with an estimated investment of VND 129.8 trillion ($5 billion).

Under the Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision, Hanoi aims to develop a network of 18 urban railway lines with a total length of about 979km. The city targets the completion of roughly 500km of metro lines by 2035 and the full network between 2035 and 2045.

All five new metro lines are scheduled for completion by 2030. Once operational, they will integrate with Metro Line 3 and Line 5, which are currently under development, gradually creating an interconnected public transport network across Hanoi.

At the same time, the city is accelerating construction of Metro Line 3, particularly its underground section, to complete the entire route by the end of 2027. Metro Line 5 is still undergoing design refinement and investment planning in line with government directives.

The simultaneous construction of five metro lines is expected to ease pressure on inner-city traffic but also to stimulate new growth poles, support population redistribution, reshape urban space, and enhance property values along public transport corridors.

If completed on schedule, the scheme will represent a major milestone in Hanoi’s infrastructure development, bringing the Vietnamese capital closer to its ambition of becoming a modern, smart city with one of the region’s leading public transport systems.

Also on the same morning, Hanoi broke ground on three rental housing projects in Viet Hung, Long Bien, and Phap Van-Tu Hiep.
span style font size 14pt Innovent Biologics dosed the first patient in a Phase 3 trial of IBI3003 a trispecific antibody for multiple myeloma span

SAN FRANCISCO and SUZHOU, China, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovent Biologics, Inc. ("Innovent") (HKEX: 01801), a world-class biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and commercializes high quality medicines for the treatment of oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic, autoimmune, ophthalmology and other major diseases, announced that the first patient has been dosed in the Chinese pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial (TriadicMM-1) of its self-developed innovative anti-GPRC5D, BCMA and CD3 tri-specific antibody IBI3003 for the second to fifth-line treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM). IBI3003 is China's first self-developed anti-GPRC5D/BCMA/CD3 tri-specific antibody to enter the pivotal registrational Phase III clinical trial, aiming to bring a promising next-generation immunotherapy option for Chinese R/R MM patients.

TriadicMM-1 (NCT07623798) is a multicenter, randomized, controlled, open-label Phase 3 clinical trial designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of IBI3003 versus investigator's choice of regimen (pomalidomide, bortezomib and dexamethasone [PVd] or daratumumab, pomalidomide and dexamethasone [DPd]). The primary endpoint of the study is progression-free survival (PFS) assessed by the Independent Review Committee (IRC).

Clinical data presented at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting on December 7, 2025 [Link], demonstrated a tolerable safety profile and promising efficacy signals for IBI3003 in patients who had failed ≥2 prior lines of myeloma therapy:

Thirty-nine patients with R/R MM who had previously received at least a PI, an IMiD, and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody were treated with IBI3003 at dose levels ranging from 0.1 μg/kg to 800 μg/kg and underwent at least one tumor assessment after baseline. As of the data cutoff date of November 7, 2025, the median follow-up duration was 3.25 months (range: 0.4–7.4), and the median treatment duration was 12.14 weeks (range: 1.0–33.0).

Among patients treated at doses ≥120 μg/kg (n=24), the overall response rate (ORR) was 83.3%, including 4 stringent complete responses (sCR), 7 very good partial responses (VGPR), and 9 partial responses (PR). In this cohort, the ORR was 80% among 10 patients with extramedullary disease (EMD) and 77.8% among 9 patients previously treated with BCMA- and/or GPRC5D-directed therapies. Among patients who achieved complete response or better, the minimal residual disease (MRD) negativity rate was 100% (n=4), as assessed by validated next-generation sequencing, with a threshold of 10-5, performed at a central laboratory.

All cases of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) were Grade 1-2, with only 2 cases of Grade 1-2 immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) reported. Most treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) related to GPRC5D targeting, including those affecting the oral cavity, skin, and nails, were Grade 1–2, with two patients experiencing Grade 3 rash.

Relevant dose optimization data (including RP2D selection) from this Phase 1/2 study will be presented at future academic conferences.

In addition, IBI3003 has received Fast Track Designation (FTD) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year. This designation applies to the treatment of R/R MM in patients who have received four or more lines of previous anti-myeloma therapies, that include at least a proteasome inhibitor (PI), an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD), and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody. The Phase I/II clinical trial in the United States is currently underway.

Professor Peng Liu from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, the Principal Investigator of the TriadicMM-1 Study, stated: "We are delighted that the first patient has been enrolled in TriadicMM-1 at our hospital. This is the first domestic pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial of a tri-specific antibody with independent intellectual property rights for the treatment of R/R/MM in China. Furthermore, IBI3003 is also the second tri-specific antibody globally to have advanced into pivotal Phase III clinical development in the R/R MM setting. Although multiple myeloma has multiple treatment options, the disease still recurs most frequently and is incurable. With each recurrence, symptoms reappear, quality of life declines, and both the likelihood and duration of treatment response typically decrease. Therefore, there remains a significant and urgent unmet medical need for novel therapeutic agents targeting alternative mechanisms of action to better control the disease, achieve deeper and more durable responses, and improve long-term outcomes including maintaining health-related quality of life. We highly anticipate that the Phase III study TriadicMM-1 will validate the potential of IBI3003 and establish IBI3003 as a new standard of care for 2-5 line R/R MM."

Dr. Hui Zhou, Chief R&D Officer (Oncology Pipeline) of Innovent Biologics, stated: "The successful completion of the first patient's first dose in the Chinese pivotal Phase III study TriadicMM-1 of IBI3003 is an important milestone for Innovent in advancing its first tri-specific antibody program into the registrational stage. IBI3003 is built on Innovent's proprietary Sanbody® platform. The promising efficacy data and manageable safety profile observed in preclinical and clinical studies are expected to bring a promising next-generation immunotherapy option for patients with multiple myeloma. Looking ahead, Innovent will deepen its dual innovation in ADC and immunotherapy, and is committed to delivering cutting-edge therapies to patients worldwide."

The company also secured the top spot in Visual Grounding with a score of 78.8, establishing a commanding 19-point lead over the next-highest-scoring model (59.8).

The win was driven by KDL-Frontier-Parser-nano, a 1.2-billion-parameter single model. Despite its compact size, it delivered superior accuracy against massive Big Tech systems at a fraction of the operational cost, proving that specialized AI tailored for business workflows can outperform broad, general-purpose LLMs. Its core edge lies in Korea Deep Learning's Near-Zero Hallucination technology, which simultaneously analyzes layout, field relationships, and spatial positioning to minimize error rates and extract data with context-aware precision.

Trained on over 400 million images and documents, Korea Deep Learning's solutions support secure on-premise and SaaS deployments. Validated across major enterprise and public sectors, the technology powers administrative data restructuring for the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and serves over 80 major corporations, including Hyundai Capital and LG CNS—slashing document-processing times by up to 96%.

Today's ParseBench victory builds on a consecutive string of global milestones. In March 2026, the company's proprietary Vision-Language Model, KDL Frontier, clinched the #1 spot in the English category of OCRBench v2 with a score of 68.1, outperforming other leading models. In recognition of this sustained technological leadership, Forbes Asia officially named CEO Jihyun Kim to its prestigious 2026 '30 Under 30' list in the Consumer & Enterprise Technology category last month.

"Our strategy has always been to build specialized AI that decodes complex document structures as intuitively as a human, rather than focusing on massive LLMs," said Jihyun Kim, CEO of Korea Deep Learning. "This milestone validates our architecture as the most practical solution for the 'AI Agent' era, enabling autonomous decision-making and total workflow automation."

Backed by an $8 million (KRW 12 billion) Series A funding round secured in December 2025 and a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, Korea Deep Learning is aggressively accelerating its global expansion into international enterprise markets.

span style font size 14pt Antengene entered an exclusive license agreement with K2 Therapeutics for ATG 106 and granted an option for an undisclosed bispecific TCE asset span

BOSTON, SINGAPORE and HONG KONG, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Antengene Corporation Limited ("Antengene", SEHK: [6996 HK]), a leading innovative, commercial-stage global biotech company dedicated to discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class and/or best-in-class medicines for autoimmune diseases, solid tumors and hematological malignancies indications, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive license agreement ("License Agreement") with K2 Therapeutics for ATG-106, a preclinical CDH6 x CD3 bispecific T cell engager (TCE) in development for solid tumors. Antengene also announced that it has entered into an option agreement ("Option Agreement") to grant K2 Therapeutics the option to obtain exclusive global rights to develop and commercialize an undisclosed preclinical bispecific TCE candidate. Across both the License Agreement and the Option Agreement, K2 Therapeutics' rights extend globally, excluding Greater China.

K2 Therapeutics, established by MPM BioImpact, is a biotech company and scalable hub-and-spoke engine built for global impact, with search and development capabilities unconstrained by modality or geography. MPM BioImpact is a world-leading biotechnology investment firm, with over 30 years' experience creating and investing in innovative companies.

"We are very pleased to expand our partnerships with our TCE pipeline with this important collaboration around our AnTenGager® platform," said Dr. Jay Mei, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Antengene. "We believe ATG-106, our CDH6 x CD3 bispecific TCE reflects the differentiated design of AnTenGager® TCEs and their potential in solid tumors. AnTenGager® TCEs are designed to address key challenges that have historically limited first-generation TCEs in solid tumors, particularly with respect to safety and tolerability. By combining steric hindrance-based masking with our proprietary fast on/off CD3 binder, AnTenGager® TCEs are designed to activate T cells in a disease-associated antigen-gated manner, with the potential to reduce cytokine release syndrome and T cell exhaustion while maintaining potent anti-tumor activity."

Both ATG-106 and the undisclosed program leverage Antengene's proprietary AnTenGager® platform, which offers a differentiated TCE approach, where binding of the TCE arm (CD3) is sterically masked in the absence of target antigen binding providing potent activity and better tolerability.

"We are excited to license ATG-106, a highly differentiated CDH6 x CD3 bispecific TCE, as well as a second promising TCE program enabled by the cutting-edge AnTenGager® platform," said Frank Neumann, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer of K2 Therapeutics. "CDH6 is an attractive target given its overexpression in tumors such as ovarian and renal cancers, and its limited expression in normal adult tissues. We believe the unique design of ATG-106 has the potential to meaningfully advance the field of solid tumor TCEs. We look forward to advancing ATG-106 toward the clinic and to delivering meaningful benefit to patients."

Under the License Agreement, Antengene is entitled to upfront and near-term considerations of approximately USD 20 million, consisting of cash and a minority equity stake in a newly established asset company and subsidiary of K2 Therapeutics, subject to the satisfaction of certain near-term conditions. Antengene is also eligible to receive developmental, regulatory and sales milestone payments of up to USD 960.5 million related to ATG-106, plus tiered royalties on future net sales.

Under the Option Agreement, upon exercise of the option, Antengene is entitled to receive upfront and near-term considerations of approximately USD 20 million, consisting of an option exercise fee, near-term payment and upfront payment, as well as a minority equity stake in the related asset company. Antengene would also be eligible to receive developmental, regulatory and sales milestone payments of up to USD 960.5 million related to the undisclosed TCE program, plus tiered royalties on future net sales.

LG Display OLED gets world s first Perfect Color certification

span style font size 14pt LG Display s entire large sized OLED panel lineup became the world s first to receive Perfect Color Brightness certification from an independent testing authority span

SEOUL, South Korea, June 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Display, the world's leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that its entire lineup of large-sized OLED panels, including for monitors and TVs, has become the first in the world to receive "Perfect Color/Brightness Accuracy up to 500 lux" certification from global testing and certification organization Intertek. This certification confirms that a display can accurately reproduce both color and brightness regardless of viewing conditions or content.

The certification is particularly meaningful as it quantitatively validates how accurately a display reproduces color and brightness. Previously, display quality had largely been assessed based on specifications such as color gamut or peak luminance, which have limitations in objectively verifying how closely a display reproduces real-world colors.

To address this, Intertek conducted comprehensive testing on OLED and LCD displays using a range of test patterns to measure variations in color and brightness, thereby objectively evaluating overall picture quality accuracy.

The test results revealed that LG Display's OLED panels — featuring self-emissive pixels — simultaneously recorded 100% color accuracy, 100% brightness accuracy, and color crosstalk-free performance. Therefore, they deliver the creator's intended color and brightness accurately, whatever the viewing environment or type of content. 100% color accuracy means consistent color reproduction regardless of test pattern size; 100% brightness accuracy refers to uniform brightness regardless of test pattern size; color crosstalk-free performance means no color interference between adjacent pixels, enabling precise color expression.

In contrast, LCD displays — which rely on backlight units larger than individual pixels — showed limitations when displaying high dynamic range (HDR) content such as starry night skies or fireworks, where brightness in highlighted areas can be diminished. In some premium LCD TVs using RGB LED backlights, color distortion was observed depending on the background colors.

These differences in picture quality accuracy stem from fundamental differences in light emission methods.

LCD-based displays control light by zones through a backlight, leading to light leakage into adjacent areas. This structural limitation means that even premium LCD panels exhibit color crosstalk and reduced accuracy in brightness and color reproduction.

LG Display's OLED panels operate using pixel dimming technology, with millions of individual pixels emitting light independently. This self-emissive structure fundamentally eliminates light leakage and interference, enabling precise reproduction of both bright and dark elements, regardless of content size or scene conditions, and delivering a superior viewing experience.

Through this certification, LG Display aims to take the lead in global picture quality competition by quantifying the value of real-world viewing experiences perceived by consumers.

"LG Display's OLED has now been objectively proven to deliver the most accurate color and brightness even in everyday viewing environments," said Hyeon-woo Lee, Head of the Large Display Business Unit at LG Display. "We will continue to strengthen our market leadership by more clearly communicating the differentiated value of premium picture quality that only OLED can deliver to customers worldwide."

For more news and information about LG Display, please visit www.lgdisplay.com

span style font size 14pt The Happiness from Europe campaign returned to Hong Kong this summer through a partnership with PizzaExpress span

HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 22 June 2026 - The "Happiness from Europe" campaign is back in Hong Kong this summer through a partnership with PizzaExpress. From 23 June to 7 September 2026, 19 PizzaExpress branches will feature a special Grana Padano PDO menu in honor of Restaurant Weeks.

The three-year campaign is co-funded by the European Union and centered on Grana Padano PDO, a hard cheese from the Pianura Padana (Po River Valley) in Northern Italy, known for its fine, granular texture and 900-year production history. In 2026 the campaign returns to PizzaExpress with a dedicated three-dish Grana Padano PDO menu running across 19 branches for the length of the promotion. The partnership puts the cheese in front of diners through one of Hong Kong's most familiar restaurant brands.

Each of the three dishes uses Grana Padano PDO in a different way, from the sauce of a pizza to the finishing of a pasta. The menu is designed to show how the cheese works across familiar dishes diners already order.

The Menu

The starter is a Cheesy Crab Dip with Grana Padano PDO. Grana Padano PDO is stirred through the dip to balance the sweetness of the crab, and the dip is served with a Grana Padano PDO cheese flatbread for tearing and dipping. It is built to be shared and finished before the rest of the meal arrives.

The Grana Padano PDO Pizza is built on a béchamel base rather than tomato sauce, with Grana Padano PDO worked into the sauce and shaved generously over the top. It is layered with fresh porcini, mortadella, mozzarella, and sliced peach. The combination of sweet peach, cured mortadella, and earthy porcini gives the pizza its character, and the cheese running through both the base and the finish brings the flavors together.

The Spaghetti Seafood Bianco with Grana Padano PDO brings together prawns, clams, and mussels in a garlic and white wine sauce with chili flakes and Grana Padano PDO. The cheese is stirred through the sauce, giving the dish more body than a typical white-wine seafood pasta.

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

The recyclables will be processed into recycled PET (rPET) materials and reintroduced into the supply chain to create new bottles. This "bottle-to-bottle" initiative highlights a successful circular economy model by giving recycled plastic a second life, making environmental stewardship a core part of the event experience.

As the "2026 Sun Life Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Festival" unfolds, Swire Coca-Cola HK is excited to celebrate this summer spectacular with the locals and tourists.
Honda LCR unveils GOD55 livery for Italian MotoGP

span style font size 14pt Honda LCR unveiled a special edition black and gold GOD55 Sports livery at the Mugello circuit for the 2026 Italian MotoGP span

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 22 June 2026 - GOD55 Sports announces the successful unveiling of a special-edition brand livery in collaboration with the Honda LCR team at the Mugello circuit. The 2026 MotoGP Italian GP at Mugello, a legendary venue steeped in racing history, once again delivered spectacular MotoGP action for fans around the world. Away from the track, however, GOD55 Sports generated plenty of buzz with a striking paddock reveal that quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike. The fast-growing digital sports platform celebrated its successful, ongoing partnership with the Honda LCR team by unveiling a stunning, one-off livery inspired entirely by its signature brand colors.

Featuring a sleek and aggressive black-and-gold design, this bespoke color scheme completely transformed the Honda RC213V machine ridden by former LCR team legend Cal Crutchlow, who made a sensational return to the grid to replace Johann Zarco for the weekend. The specially designed bike added an undeniable aura to the Italian grid, cementing GOD55 Sports' proud presence on the global racing stage and captivating fans worldwide.

A Dazzling Canvas at the Heart of Mugello

Set against the rolling Tuscan hills from May 29 to 31, the Italian GP provided the perfect, high-profile backdrop for this visual takeover. The Mugello circuit is famous for its passionate crowds, blistering high-speed straights, and immense atmosphere, making it the ideal venue for a premier partner to make a bold, unforgettable statement.

GOD55 Sports turned heads by replacing the motorcycles' usual everyday look with a unified, premium aesthetic. For this special occasion, the familiar branding was swapped for the platform's distinctive black-and-gold palette, with the riders looking right at home in the new livery. This eye-catching design stood out against the Italian backdrop, while adding a nostalgic feel to the paddock.

Hardcore fans immediately compared the fierce yet timeless finish to the legendary Marc VDS test liveries of the past, proving that the sponsor's colors are a perfect match for both motorsport purists and modern audiences.

More Than Just a New Look

While the visual impact of the black-and-gold machines was impossible to ignore, their debut at Mugello reflects the ambitious, long-term goals of the alliance. Initiated earlier this year, the three-year strategic partnership (spanning the 2026, 2027, and 2028 seasons) was forged to bring the thrill of MotoGP closer to passionate fanbases, particularly across the rapidly expanding Southeast Asian market.

The bespoke livery serves as a dynamic showcase of the brand's core philosophy. As GOD55 Sports CEO Richard Green recently emphasized, the platform aligns perfectly with the spirit of the Honda LCR team under the leadership of Lucio Cecchinello—encouraging athletes and fans alike to "be bold, dare to win, and push the limits with trust and teamwork." Rather than a simple, static logo placement, this partnership transforms the racing machines into a symbol of modern ambition, blending precision engineering with rich, localized digital storytelling.

Connecting Fans to the Global Stage

As MotoGP grows increasingly competitive, strong commercial networks and fan-focused approaches are becoming increasingly important. GOD55 Sports is turning high-visibility moments like the Italian GP to ensure fans are not just spectators, but true insiders.

By actively supporting the team through every twist and turn of the season, the digital sports media platform provided its audience with a truly unforgettable narrative at Mugello: the sensational return of British racing star Cal Crutchlow. Stepping in to replace Johann Zarco for the Italian GP, the former LCR team legend proudly piloted the specially designed black-and-gold machine. Capitalizing on this dramatic comeback, GOD55 Sports provided its audience with exclusive, behind-the-scenes content and a closer look at a veteran's return to the grid. From the legendary paddocks of Mugello to the upcoming Indonesian Grand Prix in October (where this special livery is slated to make its highly anticipated return), the platform remains dedicated to delivering a front-row perspective on the inner workings of a top-tier MotoGP operation.

For supporters, the Mugello weekend delivered one of the most memorable grid designs of the 2026 season. For the team at GOD55 Sports, it marked a proud milestone in their global racing journey. With thousands of fans lining the hillsides of Italy and millions more streaming globally, this iconic black-and-gold design perfectly fused the thrill of modern motorsports with a visionary approach to fan engagement.

https://www.facebook.com/god55sports
https://www.instagram.com/god55sports/

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
