Fully supported by Hang Seng Bank and organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) Leadership Institute, the second cohort of the Seek Our Ways Ideation Programme (the \"Programme\") brought together over 400 secondary and tertiary students to tackle pressing social challenges across three themes: Environment & Sustainable Development, Elderly & Wellness, and Arts & Culture. Over five months, participants completed nearly 14,000 hours of training, mentorship, and field exposure. Guided by more than 75 social leaders and advisors, they developed close to 90 proposals grounded in real-world insights and community needs.

From these, nine finalist teams advanced to the final pitching round held at the Penthouse of Hang Seng Bank Headquarters, presenting their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges, school representatives and fellow students. The award presentation was held on the same day and officiated by the Guest of Honour, Clarence Leung, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs. He was joined by Ms Luanne Lim, Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank, and Ms Hsu Siu-man, Executive Director of the HKFYG. More than 240 teachers, students and parents attended to show their support.

Clarence Leung, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, highlighted the growing role of technology in addressing social challenges and encouraged young people to seize emerging opportunities. \"We should continuously aim at improving our country\'s living standards,\" he said. Leung also highlighted this alignment with the first \"Hong Kong Five-Year Plan\" designed to complement the national 15th Five‑Year Plan, and stressed that efforts are being made \"to improve community and public welfare, thereby opening up vast opportunities for youth participation.\"

Ms Luanne Lim, Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank, said, \"This is the second consecutive year Hang Seng has supported the Seek Our Ways Ideation Programme. We\'re pleased to see that across two cohorts, the Programme has attracted over 800 students and received more than 170 creative proposals. In the Junior Secondary Division, Christian & Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School won with \"Onederful,\" an eco-friendly packaging solution made from upcycled rice husks and coffee grounds. Developed by Tang Cheuk-wing, Law Mon-in, Har Lok-hin, Chan Ching-yan, Lee Hoi-kiu and Hung Tsz-hei, the team went through more than ten rounds of testing and hope that their biodegradable material will reduce landfill waste generated by e-commerce packaging.

The Senior Secondary Division Grand Award, which also won the \"My Favourite Team\" Award, went to S.K.H. St. Simon\'s Lui Ming Choi Secondary School for \"River Lord,\" a nature-based water purification system designed to address long-standing odour issues in the Tuen Mun River. Team members Wang Ming-fang, Cai Yu-yin, Gao Yan-yee, Yam Wing-yu and Chan Hoi-ning devised their idea by using zeolite to support naturally occurring nitrifying bacteria. The system converts ammonia into odourless nitrate, which is then absorbed by eel grass, a native plant that also releases oxygen into the water. The team\'s low-cost, scalable approach offers a practical pathway to improving urban water systems, with plans for field trials underway.

The Tertiary Division Grand Award went to a cross-university team from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, and City University of Hong Kong. Team members Lam Sze-ming, Leung Pui-ying, Yeung Tsz-ting, Chan Wai-chuen, Ho Tsz-yung and Chan Pak-yee observed that many newly arrived students were unconfident in speaking Cantonese, so they designed a Cantonese card game named \"CantoMore\" to enable these students to \"learn through play\" and build their confidence. It is hoped that this initiative will be adopted by local secondary schools in the future to help more students integrate into the community.

Each winning team will receive HK$20,000 and the opportunity to participate in a career immersion experience provided by Hang Seng Bank. On the event day, the audience also voted for the \"My Favourite Team\" Award, with the winning team receiving HK$2,000.

The milestone was achieved in collaboration with Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd. (AAAG), which has already purchased and paid for AutoFlight's large-scale eVTOL. The GEP–UVA Darden study, based on surveys and interviews with senior executives at nearly 200 large enterprises, finds that while AI experimentation is nearly universal, only about 5% of supply chain AI initiatives have successfully moved beyond experimentation to enterprise-wide scale.

The research reveals a stark 'scaling gap': while 5% of initiatives have successfully industrialized, the vast majority remain stalled. Specifically, 22% are caught in the pilot phase, and 74% are either stuck in planning or have no formal roadmap for execution, leaving a significant divide between AI potential and operational reality.

The barrier is not budget, AI and agentic capabilities. It is management discipline.

"Most companies aren't failing at AI because of the technology," said Michael DuVall, Global Head of Strategy at GEP and co-author of the study. "They're failing because they're automating broken processes. The companies seeing outsized gains redesign how work gets done, put real governance in place, and hold AI to clear business outcomes before scaling."

What the 5% Elite Performers Do Differently

The organizations behind the top 5% of initiatives that have moved beyond pilots to operational scale, share several measurable characteristics:

1. Formal governance: Companies that scaled AI are significantly more likely to operate with a dedicated AI steering committee that ties funding directly to enterprise value delivery.
2. Portfolio discipline: Rather than approving isolated experiments, successful companies manage AI initiatives as a structured portfolio — progressing use cases deliberately from evaluation to pilot to scale.
3. Auditability and transparency: AI scalers document system logic through digital audit trails at materially higher rates than their peers, reinforcing trust, compliance and accuracy.

In the first four months of 2026, Vietnam’s natural rubber exports continued to expand, while selling prices improved significantly. Rising prices and stronger consumption demand have quickly translated into positive business results for many companies in the sector.

Business operations at numerous natural rubber enterprises have also shown clear improvement. At Tan Bien Rubber JSC, first-quarter revenue exceeded $20.9 million, up 135 per cent on-year, while after-tax profit reached more than $9.1 million, up 209 per cent.

The natural rubber prices are hovering at high levels in recent months

Vietnam Rubber Group currently owns around 377,797 hectares of rubber plantations. In Q1, the group recorded revenue of $353.8 million, up 56 per cent on-year, while profit surged 89 per cent to nearly $118.4 million.

The main growth driver came from stronger global rubber demand, particularly from the automotive and tyre manufacturing industries in China, the world’s largest rubber-consuming market.

Phuoc Hoa Rubber JSC also posted strong momentum in Q1, with revenue reaching $18.7 million, up 50.3 per cent on-year. Vietcombank Securities (VCBS) forecasts that Phuoc Hoa Rubber’s rubber segment revenue could reach around $69.8 million in 2026.

For Phuoc Hoa Rubber specifically, VCBS believes plantation productivity will continue to improve after the company completed the replanting of all ageing rubber trees, while many newly planted areas are entering a stable harvesting phase.

In addition, the company’s approximately 7,664 ha of rubber plantations in Cambodia are moving into the peak-yield stage of the crop cycle.

The favourable movement in rubber prices, together with expectations of stronger profit growth, has quickly attracted investor attention in the stock market.

Recently, shares of diverse rubber companies such as TRC, PHR and HRC have recorded strong gains. Notably, HRC shares hit the daily ceiling for four consecutive sessions from May 7 to 12.

Investors believe rubber stocks are entering a favourable phase, supported simultaneously by the commodity price upcycle and expectations of improving core business performance.

This marks an important distinction from previous periods, when many companies in the sector were valued mainly for their ‘land bank story’.

Phuoc Hoa Rubber has drawn considerable market attention as one of Vietnam’s largest natural rubber producers, with its land bank concentrated primarily in Binh Duong area (now part of Ho Chi Minh City).

The company plans to convert more than 3,000 ha of rubber land into industrial park developments, while also expanding into supporting sectors such as residential property, renewable energy and high-tech agriculture.

Meanwhile, shares of Tay Ninh Rubber JSC are viewed by An Binh Securities (ABS) as having positive sales volume prospects thanks to the recovery of the automotive and tyre manufacturing industries in major markets such as China and India.

The expansion of Vietnam’s electric vehicle ecosystem, particularly through cooperation between Vingroup and Vinachem to develop a materials supply chain for VinFast, could indirectly support long-term domestic rubber demand through increased local tyre production.

Beyond benefiting from the upcycle in natural rubber prices, many companies also possess a “dual-growth story,” combining expansion potential in their core businesses with the prospect of strong profits from industrial land assets.

According to VCBS forecasts, Phuoc Hoa Rubber alone could record around $28 million in profit from compensation related to rubber land conversion in 2026. Notably, the Bac Tan Uyen Industrial Park is expected to generate approximately $80-120 million in land conversion compensation for the company.

Tay Ninh Rubber also has the potential to deliver exceptional profit growth in 2026. The company plans to convert around 495 ha of rubber land at the Go Dau plantation – mainly ageing or low-yield plantations – to support the development of the Hiep Thanh Industrial Park.

The venture broke ground in December 2025. Under the plan, the 2025-2026 will focus on infrastructure deployment and completion of land-use conversion procedures, paving the way for Tay Ninh Rubber to recognise extraordinary income of around $78.4 million from land compensation and plantation liquidation.

Against the backdrop of persistently high natural rubber prices, improving harvesting and export activities, and the industrial park segment continuing to generate substantial revenue, rubber companies are considered to possess multiple supportive factors for medium- and long-term profit growth.

This partly explains why capital flows in the stock market are returning to rubber stocks after a relatively subdued trading period.

Rubber firms report positive Q3 performance A price surge in the third quarter (Q3) has helped rubber companies to gain significant revenue and profit after years of struggling with low prices.

According to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Finance, in the first four months of 2026, Vietnamese investors have made 74 new overseas ventures while adjusting investment capital for four initiatives. The total outbound investment reached $713.8 million.

Between January and April, Vietnamese investors poured capital into 16 sectors abroad. Among them, investments were mainly concentrated in the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning with a total registered capital of over $163.7 million, accounting for 22.9 per cent of the total outbound investment.

The construction placed second with over $153 million, representing 21.4 per cent of the total. The transportation and warehousing sector came in third with $149.1 million, making up for 20.9 per cent.

In the first four months, 32 countries and territories received investments from Vietnam. Laos retained the top spot, luring $198 million, or 27.7 per cent of the total. Kyrgyzstan ranked second with $149.9 million, or 21 per cent. The UK trailed closely behind with $82.7 million, or 11.6 per cent.

As of the end of April 2026, Vietnam had 2,065 valid overseas investment ventures with a total investment capital of over $24.6 billion. The majority of them, 28.8 per cent, operated in the mining industry and 14 per cent in the agro-forestry-fishery sector. Laos was the largest recipient of Vietnamese investment with 26.8 per cent. It was followed by Cambodia and Venezuela with 12 per cent and 7.4 per cent, respectively.

Meanwhile, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in Vietnam totalled $18.24 billion in the first four months of 2026, soaring 32 per cent on-year. Among them, 1,249 new projects were licensed with a combined registered capital of $12.15 billion, up 3.7 per cent in volume and a 2.2-fold increase in value. Among 53 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, Singapore took the lead with $6.05 billion, accounting for 49.8 per cent of the total.

Realised FDI was estimated at $7.4 billion in the period, an increase of 9.8 per cent on-year and a five-year-high.

Bluemarq Asset Management is focused on managing and operating real estate assets to generate recurring revenue, reducing dependence on sales cycles. This is the foundation for the company’s strategy to diversify its revenue streams.

In addition, Dat Xanh continues to operate as an independent business with a network of nearly 100 companies and branches, along with 30,000 brokerage partners and collaborators.

Under the new strategy, the Dat Xanh brand is repositioned to its core strength: delivering services, connecting the markets, and directly serving the housing and property investment needs of customers and communities.

One of the key contents highlighted at the event was the transition from a real estate developer to a real asset manager. Beyond developing and selling properties, the company will now focus on creating, owning, operating, and enhancing the value of assets over the long term.

This model has been implemented by large corporations in Asia, as urbanisation continues to accelerate and investment demand for real-world assets is on the upward trend. Vietnam, with a clear legal framework for 2023-2026, is entering a favourable cycle for this model to take shape and gain traction.

According to experts at the event, Bluemarq Group’s development strategy offers several distinct advantages over the traditional real estate development model. Collaboration with funds and strategic partners helps the company reduce financial leverage pressure, diversify risk, and maintain resources for long-term opportunities.
