Hanoi announces 276 priority investment projects

On June 29 the Hanoi Capital Master Plan Announcement and Investment Promotion Conference 2026 took place The city pledged to strengthen governance reforms and create a transparent stable and predictable investment environment to support sustainable long term business growth

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said the capital now possesses the strategic vision, institutional framework and development momentum needed to enter a new phase of growth. Vietnam is entering a new era of development, backed by major national reforms in institutions, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, private-sector development, foreign investment, education, healthcare and international integration.

The chairman described the conference as the starting point for the Capital Master Plan, which establishes a development vision spanning the next century while creating new opportunities for urban expansion and economic growth.

The plan is supported by several key policy milestones, including Politburo Resolution No.02-NQ/TW outlining strategic, long-term development and goals for Hanoi, and the Capital Law 2026, which takes effect on July 1.

The new law grants Hanoi broader decentralisation powers and introduces special policy mechanisms designed to accelerate development. The city is also implementing central government resolutions on innovation, digital transformation, private-sector development, foreign investment and high-quality workers.

"The convergence of a long-term vision, a new institutional framework and strong determination for reform has created better conditions for Hanoi to build a civilised, modern and prosperous capital," Thang said.

The chairman said a master plan can only succeed if it is translated into concrete projects and measurable outcomes. "What investors are looking for today is the vision of the master plan, as well as the foundations Hanoi has prepared to turn that vision into reality," he said.

To achieve this, Hanoi has been preparing legal frameworks, infrastructure, financial resources and governance reforms alongside the drafting of the plan, enabling projects to move forward immediately after its approval.

"Confidence is built through efficient governance, a transparent, stable and predictable investment environment, and the timely resolution of difficulties faced by businesses," he said.

He reaffirmed the city's commitment to shifting from a management-oriented administration to a service-oriented government that places citizens and businesses at the centre of policymaking while measuring administrative performance by effectiveness.

Vu Dai Thang, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee

Reviewing Hanoi's recent economic performance, Thang said the capital had overcome significant challenges during 2021-2025 while maintaining strong growth momentum. In 2025, Hanoi's regional GDP reached nearly $62.5 billion, accounting for 12.42 per cent of Vietnam's GDP. The city's economy expanded by 8.15 per cent, while state budget revenue exceeded $28 billion for the first time, maintaining Hanoi's position as the country's largest budget contributor.

More importantly, Hanoi has shifted its development model by using public investment to engage private capital, focusing on strategic transport infrastructure, digital infrastructure, education, healthcare and environmental projects. Growth has continued into 2026, with improvements across industrial production, trade, tourism, exports and investment.

During the first half of the year, Hanoi approved investment policies for 138 domestic projects worth approximately $141 billion and attracted an estimated $3.2 billion in foreign direct investment, remaining among Vietnam's leading destinations for FDI.

"These figures demonstrate growing investor confidence in Hanoi's business environment and highlight the city's substantial long-term growth potential," Thang said.

Strategic infrastructure development remains one of Hanoi's highest priorities. Just before the conference, the city simultaneously broke ground on five urban railway lines, marking the largest public transport expansion in its history and advancing transit-oriented development.

Other major infrastructure projects, including ring roads, bridges spanning the Red River, radial transport corridors, flood-control systems, digital infrastructure and technical utilities, are also progressing rapidly, opening up new development corridors across the capital.

Meanwhile, Hanoi is investing in affordable housing, modern urban areas, education, healthcare, digital infrastructure, innovation centres and environmental projects to improve both competitiveness and quality of life.

Thang said governance reform represents the third pillar supporting the Capital Master Plan, alongside institutions and infrastructure. Recognising that time is a valuable resource for businesses, the city is accelerating administrative reforms to reduce processing time, compliance costs and investment risks while improving transparency, policy consistency and implementation efficiency.

Under the new master plan, Hanoi will adopt a multi-centre, multipolar urban model built around mass public transport networks. The city will expand development above ground, underground and in the digital space while establishing new growth centres for innovation, finance, trade, logistics and high-tech industries.

Priority sectors include strategic transport infrastructure, TOD urban development, semiconductors, AI, data centres, next-generation industrial parks, smart logistics, clean energy, the circular economy, cultural industries, tourism, healthcare and high-quality education.

Thang emphasised that Hanoi would pursue quality rather than quantity in investment attraction. "The city will not attract investment at any cost. We will not sacrifice the environment, culture or people's quality of life for economic growth. Instead, we will prioritise projects with high added value, advanced technology, innovation, efficient resource use and low-carbon development that strengthen value chains and enhance economic competitiveness," he said.

The city also pledged to improve transparency by digitalising planning information, standardising administrative procedures, clearly defining institutional responsibilities and providing dedicated support for major inititatives under the "six-clear" governance principle: clear responsibilities, tasks, accountability, timelines, deliverables and outcomes.

At the conference, Hanoi announced 276 priority projects across key sectors while awarding investment approvals, investment registration certificates and cooperation agreements with domestic and international businesses.

Thang invited investors from Vietnam and abroad to partner with Hanoi in developing innovation centres, high-tech industrial parks, financial and logistics hubs, modern infrastructure and smart, green urban areas.

"Hanoi remains committed to being a development-oriented government that acts decisively, works closely with investors and delivers effective public services. We will continue improving governance, strengthening implementation capacity and building a transparent, safe and business-friendly investment environment so that every investor choosing Hanoi can develop with confidence over the long term," he said.

New investment model proposed for Hanoi's sci-tech projects

Hanoi breaks ground on three rental housing, five urban railway projects

Hanoi teams up with UOB to upgrade FDI quality

Viatris collaborates with medical community to enhance management of non communicable diseases in Vietnam

Viatris Vietnam has organised a scientific conference series Advancing Non Communicable Disease Management In The New Era – A 5 Year Journey Driving Patient Outcomes to improve the management of non communicable diseases bringing together thousands of healthcare professionals nationwide

The programme took place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 14 and in Hanoi on June 27, and brought together more than 800 doctors attending in person and approximately 1,000 healthcare professionals participating virtually, creating a large-scale scientific platform to share the latest medical advances, exchange clinical experience, and discuss solutions to enhance the management of non-communicable diseases in Vietnam.

According to the World Health Organization, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases, account for nearly 80 per cent of all deaths in Vietnam, making them one of the country's most pressing healthcare challenges. Against the backdrop of an ageing population and the growing prevalence of metabolic risk factors, strengthening capabilities in the prevention, diagnosis, and long-term management of chronic diseases has become increasingly important for the healthcare system.

With the participation of leading experts, the conference series provided updates on emerging trends in NCDs management based on international clinical treatment guidelines, focusing on cardiovascular event prevention, risk management in patients with diabetes, neuropathic pain treatment, and mental healthcare. The scientific sessions highlighted the importance of early intervention, personalised treatment, comprehensive care, and multidisciplinary collaboration in optimising long-term disease management, reducing complications, and improving patients’ quality of life.

Prof. Nguyen Lan Viet, permanent vice president of the Vietnam National Heart Association, said, "Continuous updates on medical advances and new treatment recommendations through multidisciplinary scientific forums play an important role in fostering scientific exchange, sharing practical experience, and supporting healthcare professionals in improving patient care."

Prof. Nguyen Lan Viet, permanent vice president of the Vietnam National Heart Association

During the conference, a session on technology transfer highlighted that treating non-communicable diseases is a long-term process, requiring sustainable access to high-quality medicines. As Vietnam continues to strengthen its legal framework and manufacturing capabilities in accordance with international standards, Le Ngoc Danh, head of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Division at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, stated, "Technology transfer presents a promising approach for Vietnam – not just to expand manufacturing capacity, but to progressively elevate the position of the pharmaceutical industry within the regional value chain. Through coordinated collaboration among regulatory authorities, domestic manufacturers, and multinational pharmaceutical companies, these projects can help maintain a stable supply of high-quality medicines, particularly for diseases requiring long-term treatment."

Le Ngoc Danh, head of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Division, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health

A five-year journey alongside Vietnam's healthcare community

This year’s conference series carries special significance as it marks five years since Viatris established its presence and began operations in Vietnam. Throughout this journey, Viatris has partnered with the medical community through scientific exchange initiatives, continuing medical education programmes, and professional collaborations aimed at enhancing long-term disease management and improving patients’ quality of life.

In addition to scientific and professional collaborations, the technology transfer project for selected originator medicines represents one of Viatris's strategic milestones in Vietnam. To date, the first products under the project have received marketing authorisation from the Ministry of Health and are expected to support treatment needs.
Hanoi partners with five banks to raise up to nearly 8 billion through bond issuance

Hanoi has signed MoUs with five big commercial banks to support the issuance of local government bonds with plans to raise between 6 7 8 billion during 2027 2030 to finance key infrastructure projects particularly the capital s urban railway network

Hanoi, therefore, aims to diversify its financing sources and make full use of the special policy mechanisms granted by the central government to mobilise private-sector capital. In this context, local government bonds will become an important financial instrument for the city's development," he said.

During the ceremony, Hanoi Department of Finance signed cooperation agreements with five major banks: Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, Vietcombank and MB, to jointly prepare and implement future bond issuances.

Under the agreements, Hanoi plans to issue a range of debt instruments between 2027 and 2030, including local government bonds, project bonds, infrastructure bonds, municipal bonds and green bonds, with total fundraising expected to reach $6-7.8 billion.

The proceeds will primarily finance strategic investment projects, particularly the expansion of Hanoi's urban railway system.

The participating banks will work with Hanoi Department of Finance to develop issuance plans, assess market demand and fundraising capacity, and provide services, including financial advisory, underwriting, issuance agency, distribution, and bond auctions, in accordance with prevailing regulations. The parties will also cooperate on promotional activities to broaden the investor base and improve fundraising efficiency.

Luu urged the Department of Finance to work closely with the participating banks in designing the issuance framework while ensuring full compliance with legal requirements so that future bond offerings are conducted transparently, efficiently and in line with the city's fiscal capacity.

He also called on the five banks to continue serving as Hanoi's strategic partners by providing market analysis, investment advice and support in designing bond products that meet investor demand.

According to Luu, the cooperation will help mobilise financial resources more effectively to support Hanoi's long-term goal of becoming a "Civilised, Cultured and Modern" capital while achieving rapid and sustainable development.

 <td align="left"
Music festivals drive tourism and economic growth in Vietnam

Music festivals in Vietnam are gaining traction as rising demand for live entertainment and policy support position them as a growing driver of tourism and related economic activity

While still at an early stage, Vietnam is beginning to see the emergence of professionally organised events in major urban centres such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam has signalled a stronger focus on developing cultural industries and experience-driven tourism. Photo: Viet Channel

The recent large-scale music events such as the Ravolution Music Festival, held in mid-June in Ho Chi Minh City, was drawing increasing attention across Vietnam. Ravolution has in past years attracted thousands of attendees across multiple editions with international DJs and large-scale stage production.

Meanwhile, Dream Cities, with its latest edition in Hanoi in July, has expanded into a multi-city tour format targeting young audiences in major urban centres and tourist destinations. Both events form part of a broader line-up of music festivals scheduled across 2026, with more large-scale shows expected in the coming months.

Nguyen Dang Tuyet Ngan, a fourth-year student at Hanoi University, has attended Dream Cities for the past two years and is looking forward to its 2026 edition.

“Each year feels different in terms of atmosphere and line-up, so I’m quite excited to see how it develops this year,” she said. “I usually spend around $40-60 on tickets and other costs, which I think is reasonable for the experience. The crowd has also become larger and more diverse.”

She added that many attendees tend to go in groups and stay for the full event, turning it into a full-day experience rather than just a music performance.

These developments are contributing to broader economic activity across related sectors. According to Vietnam’s tourism authorities and statistical data, accommodation and food service revenue increased by around 14.6 per cent on-year in 2025. Festivals, by attracting large numbers of attendees, can support spending across transport, hospitality and food services.

Joon Park, general manager at Sheraton Hanoi West, said concerts and large-scale entertainment events were increasingly generating spillover effects across hospitality and tourism services in Hanoi.

“The Vietnamese government has identified the cultural and event industry as a strategic pillar, recognising culture as a vital engine for economic growth,” Park said. “Every concert at My Dinh Stadium creates a ripple effect throughout the hospitality sector.”

According to Park, recent events featuring artists such as Blackpink, Westlife and Coldplay, alongside Vietnamese performers including Anh Trai Say Hi and Soobin, have contributed to rising hotel occupancy and stronger demand for integrated entertainment experiences.

“Guests are looking for more than just a place to stay. They want food and beverage services, transportation, pre- and post-event lounges, and memorable local activities,” Park said.

He added that Sheraton Hanoi West has coordinated with event organisers to prepare accommodation packages and fan-focused gatherings during concert periods.

Large-scale events hosted in integrated township developments such as Ocean Park are also contributing to rising visitor flows and short-term accommodation demand in suburban urban areas outside central Hanoi.

Large-scale festivals are generating spillover effects across tourism and related service sectors. Photo: Viet Channel

According to Vietnam Music Landscape 2025-2026, published in January by RMIT University Vietnam, the country’s music industry experienced rapid growth in 2025, with a significant increase in both the scale and frequency of live events, including around 800 music-related events recorded. Major concerts typically attracted between 25,000 and 30,000 attendees per night, some reaching up to 100,000 participants.

The report also highlights growing demand for live experiences, particularly among audiences aged 18-34, who represent the largest consumer segment. A significant proportion of respondents expressed willingness to pay for live events, signalling improving commercial viability for concerts and festivals.

Vietnam’s relatively young population, with around 68 per cent of the population in the working-age group according to the National Statistics Office of Vietnam, provides a substantial consumer base for live entertainment and experience-driven tourism.

At the event level, large-scale festivals are generating spillover effects across tourism and related service sectors. Events such as 8Wonder have attracted tens of thousands of attendees, with some drawing close to 100,000 participants, according to organisers. These events have also featured cross-border artistic collaborations, symbolised by the display of national flags during performances, highlighting their role in cultural exchange.

Similarly, domestically produced programmes such as Anh Trai Say Hi are expanding audience reach through digital platforms, recording millions of online interactions.

This growing interest in live experiences is taking place alongside a recovery in tourism demand. Data released in April by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism show that the country welcomed approximately 6.76 million international visitors in the first quarter, up around 12 per cent on-year and marking the highest quarterly level on record. Tourism-related spending has also remained strong, providing a supportive backdrop for event-based tourism..

At the global level, according to the World Tourism Barometer, published in January by UN Tourism, Asia-Pacific remains one of the fastest-recovering regions. Within the region, recovery continues to gain traction, positioning Southeast Asia as an increasingly competitive destination cluster.

At the policy level, Vietnam has signalled a stronger focus on developing cultural industries and experience-driven tourism. Resolution No.80-NQ/TW, issued in January, sets out the objective of developing Vietnam into an attractive destination for regional and global cultural and artistic events by 2030, alongside boosting international integration in culture.

This development aligns with broader global tourism trends highlighted by UN Tourism. As demand for live experiences grows, music festivals are expected to play a larger role in linking cultural production with tourism and service sector expansion.

Banks face diverging fortunes in second half of 2026

The banking sector is expected to face sustained pressure from narrowing net interest margins tight liquidity and rising credit risks in the second half of 2026 although stronger lenders are likely to outperform amid growing market divergence

In its market strategy report for the second half of 2026 released on June 10, SSI Research noted that liquidity pressures, shrinking net interest margins and early signs of deteriorating asset quality will be the key factors shaping the banking industry's outlook over the coming quarters.

According to the report, the defining feature of the current cycle is not whether banks can avoid macroeconomic headwinds, but rather each institution's ability to absorb and manage risks more effectively than its competitors.

On the funding side, SSI Research estimates that, as of mid-May, total deposits across the banking system exceeded $680 billion, up almost 3 per cent from the outset of the year. However, deposit growth continued to lag well behind credit expansion, leaving the system-wide loan-to-deposit ratio at an elevated level, reflecting persistently tight liquidity conditions.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has reported that, as of April 28, outstanding credit had increased by more than 4.4 per cent compared with the end of 2025, while deposit mobilisation grew at a much slower pace.

As a result, the VND deposits remained approximately $80 billion below total outstanding credit.

This imbalance also signifies why deposit interest rates are unlikely to decline significantly, with long-term deposit rates expected to remain in the range of 7–8 per cent per year.

Meanwhile, banks have limited room to raise lending rates immediately, as lending rates typically adjust with a lag.

Banks’ financial statements show that the average net interest margin (NIM) of 28 banks fell to just under 2.87 per cent in the first quarter of 2026 from 2.93 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025, with 20 banks reporting on-quarter declines.

Nguyen Quang Huy, CEO of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Nguyen Trai University, said the banking sector faced dual pressures in the first quarter as declining NIM coincided with weaker non-interest income streams.

"This indicates that the sector's profit growth potential has narrowed considerably compared with previous periods. NIM is expected to remain under pressure in the short term, particularly in the second quarter," Huy said.

"Funding costs usually reflect previous increases in deposit rates with a time lag, while asset yields cannot adjust at the same pace. Medium- and long-term loans, preferential lending programmes, and continued efforts to support borrowers make it difficult for banks to raise lending rates significantly," he added.

Market analysts believe that NIM may stabilise in the following quarters of 2026, although a strong recovery remains unlikely.

In practice, NIM recovery would require several conditions, including deposit rates ceasing to rise, current account savings account ratios remaining stable, existing loans being repriced and credit growth focusing on segments that offer reasonable yields while maintaining prudent risk control.

Simply raising lending rates to improve NIM could expose banks to higher non-performing loan risks, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises, real estate borrowers, and retail customers.

Against this backdrop, analysts expect liquidity conditions to gradually improve, supported by four key drivers: stronger cash inflows returning to the banking system, higher export earnings, continued growth in foreign direct investment inflows, and accelerated public investment disbursement.

Regarding lending activities, the banking system's credit growth target for 2026 remains at around 15 per cent. As of the end of May, outstanding credit had risen by just over 5.7 per cent from the beginning of the year, equivalent to an annual increase of 19 per cent.

SSI Research forecasts that credit growth in the second half of the year will become more cautious as banks are required to remain within their assigned credit quotas. Credit allocation is shifting significantly towards construction and infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile,, the housing mortgage segment is expected to stage a more meaningful recovery only in 2027, when interest rates are projected to decline substantially. Pressure on net interest margins therefore remains the most immediate challenge facing the sector.

SSI Research expects deposit rates to remain broadly unchanged before edging lower towards the end of 2026.

As funding costs continue to rise faster than the recovery in interest-earning asset yields, privately owned joint-stock commercial banks are projected to record an average NIM decline of around 10 basis points.

By contrast, state-controlled commercial banks, benefiting from more stable funding structures and lower funding costs, are expected to improve NIM by approximately 8 basis points.

Under this scenario, fee income from trade finance, guarantees and standby letters of credit will become an increasingly important profit driver as interest income remains constrained throughout 2026.

Banks enter post-digitalisation race for customer loyalty
As digital banking becomes the norm, Vietnamese lenders are entering a new race where customer experience, data intelligence and trust, not transaction speed, will determine who wins long-term loyalty.

Banks build bigger buffers as bad debt pressure returns
Banks are sharply increasing loan-loss provisions as rising bad debts, weaker cash flows and mounting property market risks force lenders to prioritise financial resilience over short-term profit.

Banks face growing constraints on loan rate reductions
Although banks have trimmed lending rates following the State Bank of Vietnam’s call for lower borrowing costs, rising funding expenses and stronger competition for deposits are expected to limit further reductions.

illum e opens sixth Singapore campus in Tampines amid MOE education reform demand

illum e has opened its sixth campus in Tampines Singapore responding to growing demand for thinking based learning driven by Ministry of Education curriculum reforms reshaping the country s education landscape

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach Newswire - 29 June 2026 - illum.e, a three-time SME 500 award winner and MOE-registered tuition provider, has announced the launch of its sixth campus at Tampines Point. The expansion into Singapore's East comes in direct response to surging parental demand for thinking-based education following the Ministry of Education's (MOE) exam reforms.

illum.e Opens Sixth Campus in Tampines as MOE Reforms Drive Demand for Thinking-Based Learning

As MOE accelerates its shift toward school-based high-ability programmes and Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB), national examinations, including the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), are moving away from rote memorisation. The new campus will equip students in the East with the reasoning skills needed to meet this changing assessment environment.

The launch follows another standout year across illum.e's existing tuition centres. In the latest O-Level cohort, 97.5% of its English students achieved B3 and above, while 96.4% of JC General Paper (GP) students secured an A or B grade.

At the primary level, 97% of PSLE English students improved by up to three grade tiers. The Tampines campus will offer illum.e's full suite of tuition programmes, spanning Primary, Secondary, IP, and JC levels in English, GP, and Humanities, making it a comprehensive tuition centre in Tampines for families across the East.

A Model Built for Singapore's Next-Generation Exams
With the new Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) set to replace the O- and N-Levels, students are increasingly assessed on their ability to interpret unfamiliar texts, weigh competing perspectives, and build independent arguments, rather than reproduce memorised content.

This is where illum.e has built its reputation. Its proprietary Thinking Frames pedagogy trains students in cognitive framing, logic mapping, and rhetorical fluency. A "thinking frame" is a structured mental model that teaches students to break down an unfamiliar question into clear, logical steps, so they can reason their way to an answer rather than recall one.

"Most tuition centres train children to bet on which questions will appear. That's guesswork, not education," says Timothy Joshua Chia-Lee, Founder of illum.e and former MOE Subject Head of English. "Teach a child how to think, and there is no such thing as an unfamiliar exam, only a new problem they already know how to solve. That is how we raise thinkers to lead Singapore forward."

Top-Tier Mentors, Student-Centred Learning
illum.e accepts fewer than 1 in 100 tutor applicants, drawing its mentors largely from former MOE teachers and experienced educators. This selectivity underpins its signature "Live Marking" approach, where mentors diagnose reasoning errors in real time as students write, correcting the thinking behind an answer rather than just the answer itself.

Every class is capped at an 8:1 ratio, ensuring each child is known and stretched. Learning extends beyond the classroom through AI-assisted practice tools and a 24/7 digital portal of notes, thinking frameworks, and recorded revision content.

The Tampines Point campus is scheduled to commence its first intake of classes in tandem with the upcoming school term, marking the next step in illum.e's mission to raise a generation of confident, independent thinkers.

https://illum.education/

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

De Beers Diamond Report finds natural diamonds lead US luxury jewellery demand

span style font size 14pt De Beers has published its Diamond Report based on a study of 18 500 women across the US market identifying natural diamonds as the most desired luxury jewellery product with insights on purchasing motivations and buyer profiles span

LONDON, UK - Media OutReach Newswire - 29 June 2026 - Natural diamonds are the most desired luxury jewellery product, average purchase prices have increased 25%, Gen Z is now the second largest generation buying diamonds, and non-bridal occasions account for three-quarters of overall US demand. These are some of the key findings of De Beers Group's latest US Diamond Acquisition Study, featuring responses from 18,500 women aged 18 – 74 across the industry's largest consumer market.

Completed in 2026, the biannual study also found that Gen Z is spending almost double what Baby Boomers spend when buying natural diamonds – at $4,080 per piece vs $2,250 – and that while love-related purchase motivations remain the core driver of demand, personal motivations such as celebrating a new job, getting a promotion, recognising an achievement or 'just because' are increasingly driving diamond jewellery purchasing.

The study highlights that US consumers rank natural diamonds as their top preference for a luxury jewellery item, with 11% of women ranking natural diamond jewellery their most desired luxury gift. This places natural diamond desirability ahead of synthetic lab-grown diamonds (8%), other gemstones (5%) and plain gold jewellery (4%).

Average prices for natural diamond jewellery also increased significantly in 2025, rising to $4,063 per piece compared with $3,242 in 2023. This growth is being driven by consumers buying larger carat weights, with average total carat weight increasing to 1.86 carats, up from 1.65 carats in 2023.

When it comes to the industry's youngest generation, the study found that Gen Z punches above its weight: the generation now accounts for just under a quarter (23%) of natural diamond demand value despite representing just 18% of the population. Gen Z consumers also buy or receive diamonds for more occasions than any other generation – at 1.83 occasions per year compared with an overall average of 1.7. While bridal occasions lead Gen Z demand at 45% of total purchases, gifting from relatives also plays an important role. Birthdays are particularly significant, representing 17% of all Gen Z diamond acquisitions compared with 13% across all generations. Gen Z also highly values self-expression and associates diamonds with being a symbol of identity more than any other generation, while also having the greatest reliance on social media for researching their purchases.

Diana Mitkov, lead researcher within Diamond Demand Insights & Analytics at De Beers Group, said: "The study findings highlight that today's consumers aspire to own natural diamonds just as much as the generations that came before them, and ahead of any other jewellery product. And they are spending more per piece than ever before. But how and why consumers buy diamonds is evolving. Traditional life milestones such as getting engaged are no longer the only value driver for the industry; consumers are increasingly marking a wide range of occasions with natural diamonds and are looking for distinct pieces that feel personal to them.

"As unique miracles of nature, the attributes of natural diamonds play directly into these shifting consumer trends. The opportunity for the diamond industry is to ensure that natural diamonds continue to capture the value of this strong underlying desire in an increasingly competitive landscape by offering compelling designs across all sizes, colours and price points and for occasions that go well beyond traditional engagement or wedding jewellery."

These findings feature in a new publication from De Beers, The Diamond Report, which also includes an editorial on the key forces shaping a positive future for natural diamonds by EVP Corporate Affairs & Strategy and Chief Economist, Eirik Wærness; an analysis of US jewellery retail trends; perspectives from leading US designers and retailers on how the diamond buying experience is evolving; and reflections on the role natural diamonds can play in supporting socioeconomic progress for the people and places where they are discovered.

The report also notes that natural diamond sales are increasing across US independent jewellers, with Point of Sales data from 950 retailers showing sales grew 4% and 9% year-on-year in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, respectively. Coloured and low-coloured diamonds (those in the K – Z colour range) promoted by De Beers Group's 'Desert diamonds' campaign outperformed, with sales growth of 15% and 19%, respectively.

The same data shows that while synthetic lab-grown diamond jewellery sales are increasing in volume, declining retail prices mean their value share of demand remains relatively low at 15% of independent jewellers' diamond sales, compared with 85% for natural diamonds in 2025. In addition, there is a noticeable drop-off in sales once synthetic lab-grown diamonds reach 3 carats or larger in size, suggesting that consumers may feel synthetic lab-grown diamonds beyond this size could look too big. The report notes this could mean that as synthetic lab-grown diamond prices continue to decline in line with the multi-year trend already experienced, retailers may be unable to upsell to larger sizes, which could result in lower overall sales and impact long-term gross profits.

Eirik Wærness said: "The diamond industry is evolving at pace with both supply and demand-side dynamics shaping the industry's future. On the supply side, declining global production of natural diamonds is expected to support an improved supply-demand balance over the coming years. On the demand-side, a resilient US economy and stabilisation of demand in China saw global natural diamond demand return to growth in 2025 while the industry's marketing efforts are showing encouraging signs of momentum. With retail returns from synthetic lab-grown diamonds likely to come under pressure in the future, we expect retailers will increasingly differentiate them from natural diamonds in their sales strategies. As these fundamentals continue to stabilise, the industry has a significant opportunity to reinforce the value of natural diamonds and support long-term growth."

https://www.debeersgroup.com/
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay wins global awards for pools spas and island resorts

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay has been awarded 1 Best Resort Pools and 3 Best Resort Spas alongside 7 Best Beach Island Resorts at the 2026 Travel Leisure Southeast Asia Luxury Awards reflecting guest experiences that extend beyond a typical stay

The awards, announced on June 29, recognise the secluded bay resort in Khanh Hoa province, reached only by boat and set apart from the pace of Nha Trang. Guests' stays are defined by wellness and discovery, from meals shaped by local ingredients to sustainable practices that carry through a series of quiet yet emotional moments.

From spotting black-shanked langurs and trekking through the jungle to sailing by catamaran, snorkelling the reef, experiencing Vietnamese cupping therapy, night squid fishing, or dining privately in the wine cave, every experience is framed by mountains and sea.

The pool at Rock Retreat Villa

As the winner of Best Resort Pools in Vietnam, the pool designs take their cue from the land. From one-bedroom hideaways to larger spaces for families, each villa pool settles into its surroundings – set on the beach, carved around the rocks, extended over the water, or placed along the hillside. The shape is not imposed, but discovered, following the natural contours already in place. No two are alike. Each opens to its own frame of sea, stone, or sky, shifting with the light throughout the day.

In addition, the resort is ranked third for Best Resort Spas in Vietnam, reflecting an approach to wellbeing that draws on measurable body indicators. Here, wellness is not a single touchpoint at Six Senses Spa, but a seamless journey shaped across every moment of guests’ stay. Sleep With Six Senses focuses on better sleep.

Wellness Screening and Sleep Rings use clear indicators to understand what the body needs and what the mind carries. Eat With Six Senses reflects the way ingredients are grown, sourced, and prepared. The Experience Centre focuses on movement and time outdoors. Grow With Six Senses brings the same principles to younger guests, giving them space to learn through doing.

“Being recognised across these categories reflects the comprehensive experience of a stay,” said Greg Findlay, general manager of Six Senses Ninh Van Bay “It tells us that guests value where they stay as well as how they spend their time – from rest and sleep to movement, food, and time outdoors.”

The annual Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia Luxury Awards are based on reader surveys, where travellers rate their experiences across service, location, and overall impression.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

Ninh Hoa Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam

Điện thoại: 0258 3524 268

Email: reservations-ninhvan@sixsenses.com

Website: www.sixsenses.com/ninhvanbay

Six Senses Con Dao offers perfect Wellness Retreat to ease the year's tension
In the exclusive island paradise of Con Dao rests the luxury retreat of Six Senses Con Dao, a perfect destination to unwind after the ups and downs of 2020.

Sustainability at Ninh Van Bay
With over 15 years in the international hotel industry in the United States, Germany, the Maldives, China, and Vietnam, Benjamin Kreuz shares his experience in developing sustainable tourism in one of the first luxury eco-resorts in Vietnam.

Su Song comes to Six Senses Con Dao
A unique art show as part of the Su Song main event series is taking place at Six Senses Con Dao resort on May 4 and May 6.

CEIBS leaders urge EU China shift from AI rivalry to constructive engagement

span style font size 14pt European and Chinese leaders speaking at CEIBS Forums in Brussels and Paris have warned that the EU and China must move beyond zero sum competition to leverage complementary strengths in AI governance and industrial development span

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM / PARIS, FRANCE - Media OutReach Newswire - 26 June 2026 - As artificial intelligence reshapes global power dynamics, European and Chinese leaders are warning that the EU and China must move beyond zero-sum competition to harness their complementary strengths in AI governance and industrial application.

The consensus emerged during the 12th CEIBS Europe Forum, a flagship dialogue held across Paris (22 June) and Brussels (24 June) bringing together policymakers, industry executives, and academics.

Addressing the forums, former President of the European Council Charles Michel stressed that AI is no longer merely a technological issue, but a matter of "sovereignty, leadership, and power." He identified semiconductors, data infrastructure, and regulatory policy as the core variables shaping future international relations. While acknowledging intensifying global competition, Michel called for "responsible collaboration," noting that Europe's mature approach to corporate governance and data security could confer distinct long-term resilience.

The events highlighted a clear strategic divergence in global AI: the US leads in frontier investment, China excels in large-scale application and open-source models, while Europe dominates in regulatory frameworks. "The more intense the competition becomes, the more important dialogue and cooperation are," noted CEIBS President Wang Hong, highlighting the need to balance global AI governance.

Other speakers included Chinese Ambassador to the EU Cai Run and Chinese Minister to France Chen Li.

Industry panels featuring executives from Siemens, EDF, and leading robotics firms reinforced this pragmatic approach. Across sectors like energy, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing, experts agreed that AI acts as an enabler rather than a replacement for human expertise. However, they cautioned that AI's massive energy demands present a critical challenge—and a prime opportunity for joint Sino-European innovation in grid technology and renewables.

Concluding the Brussels summit, CEIBS Co-President (European) Frank Bournois encapsulated the sentiment of both cities: "Competition is natural, but insufficient. The real formula we need is unity and trust."

For more information, please visit the official website:
https://www.ceibs.edu/
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

Together with his wife Colleen, he created a fitness dynasty, first through the Les Mills New Zealand (LMNZ) chain of gyms and then Les Mills International, the group training powerhouse started by their son Phillip and his partner Jackie, now supported by their children Diana and Les Jnr.

Born in Auckland in 1934, Les had a tough start in life, losing his father at age 11, but he found solace in his passion for fitness and physical culture, inspired by the Charles Atlas strength training program. He grew into a fearsome athlete who represented New Zealand at four Olympic Games, competing in the discus and shot put. He won Commonwealth Games Gold, three Silver medals and one Bronze, later becoming an elite international coach and sports administrator.

Aged 19, Les married his wife Colleen – herself a world-class track and field athlete – and the pair embarked on several business ventures together before uniting their passion for sport and commerce to launch the first Les Mills gym in Auckland in 1968. After a few false starts, the gym business eventually took off and became the successful LMNZ chain of gyms that remain a cornerstone of Kiwi culture.

While Phillip, Jackie and Colleen were busy building Les Mills International and taking group workouts global with the explosion of BODYPUMP™, Les entered politics with characteristic determination to drive change for his constituents. He served three terms as Mayor of Auckland City in the 1990s, leading sweeping reforms to strengthen communities and improve infrastructure, as well as regenerating the heart of the city and its waterfront with bold development projects.

After leaving politics, Les continued to coach athletes, help grow the family businesses and support several charity initiatives. In 2002, he was recognized in the Queen's Birthday and Golden Jubilee Honors, being made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to local government and sport. This complemented the earlier 1973 Queen's Birthday Honors appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to sport. In 2022, together with Phillip and Jackie Mills, he was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame.

Phillip Mills, Managing Director of Les Mills International, said of his father: "He achieved a huge amount in his life. And the common thread throughout – whether in fitness, politics or family life – was that he always wanted to help others.

"Dad was immensely strong, driven, and always cared deeply for the less advantaged. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his spirit lives on in gym workouts around the world, continuing to help people fall in love with fitness."

Having lost Colleen in 2005, Les is survived by his children Phillip and Donna, daughter-in-law Jackie, grandchildren Diana, Les Jr, Gabriel and Moana, plus many great-grandchildren.

Leslie Roy Mills MBE, CNZM 1 November 1934 – 29 June 2026

"The purpose of the gym is to help people fall in love with fitness." – Les Mills, 1968

Yeahka subsidiary tops ByteDance Jichuang 2 0 rankings by AI model consumption

span style font size 14pt Chuangxinzhong a precision marketing subsidiary of Yeahka 9923 HK has ranked first by model consumption among all agency tier partners on ByteDance s Jichuang 2 0 AI content platform span

HONG KONG, June 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Chuangxinzhong, a precision marketing subsidiary of Yeahka (9923.HK), has become the top-ranked partner by model consumption among all agency-tier partners of ByteDance's Jichuang 2.0 model.

According to Chuangxinzhong personnel, the company has deployed AI agents to automate manual processes since May, driving a 116% year-on-year increase in model usage. Meanwhile, its AI content production capacity rose by 33%, enabling the company to generate 30 to 40 video ad creative sets per day.

The figures mark a significant step forward for Chuangxinzhong in the commercialization of AIGC and the large-scale production of short-video ad creatives.

As short-video platforms such as Douyin continue to surge, traditional advertising models are facing mounting pressure. With consumer attention increasingly scarce, advertisers are widely grappling with rising costs and declining ROI. This is particularly true in fast-moving categories like beauty and apparel, where a single round of product testing often requires a dozen or more short-video assets, and the cycle from creative concept to launch can be lengthy.

For advertisers across the industry, ad placement has entered an era of "creative-driven growth", especially in sectors such as finance, e-commerce, and local services, where a single creative concept is no longer enough to sustain growth — companies now need large volumes of high-quality content to test and optimize quickly.

Through its collaboration with the Jichuang 2.0 model, Chuangxinzhong's monthly AI-generated ad spend rose from RMB 5 million to RMB 10 million, underscoring the high-frequency use of its AI content generation capabilities. Meanwhile, its daily output of 30 to 40 asset sets has directly translated into greater agility for advertisers responding to market shifts.

This is not the first breakthrough Chuangxinzhong has achieved in AI-driven marketing. The company previously ranked first in AIGC spend within the financial lead-generation sector during a digital human ad incentive competition hosted by ByteDance, where it also set an industry record: an 80% reduction in per-asset cost alongside a 391% week-on-week increase in consumption.

A representative from Chuangxinzhong said the company will continue investing in AI marketing infrastructure going forward, aiming to deepen the integration of LLM capabilities with advertising, user operations, and business growth. The goal is to offer enterprise clients an integrated solution spanning creative production, intelligent ad placement, and performance optimization.

As a key part of Yeahka's broader AI strategy, Chuangxinzhong has spent recent years driving the adoption of AI technologies in marketing. Building on the group's accumulated expertise in large models, algorithms, and content generation, the company has developed a product suite spanning digital humans, AIGC content production, and smart marketing.

From digital humans to AIGC content factories to intelligent marketing agents, AI is steadily reshaping how the marketing industry produces content. Chuangxinzhong's top performance in ByteDance's Jichuang 2.0 agency rankings reflects the strong, scalable capabilities and industry-leading position the company has built in commercial AI applications.

WIRobotics launches Physical AI ecosystem roadmap with ALLEX simulation model

span style font size 14pt Seoul based WIRobotics has announced a technology disclosure roadmap for building a Physical AI development ecosystem with the ALLEX simulation model serving as the first release in the programme span

SEOUL, South Korea, June 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- WIRobotics, a global robotics company (Co-CEOs: YounBaek Lee and Yong-Jae Kim), today announced the launch of its technology disclosure roadmap for building a Physical AI development ecosystem.

WIRobotics plans to gradually release the core technologies developed throughout its humanoid robot program to researchers and developers. As the first technology release, the company has unveiled the simulation model of its humanoid robot, ALLEX, together with the results of its Sim-to-Real (Simulation-to-Real) validation.

Across the global robotics industry, Physical AI—which enables robots to perceive, reason, and act in the physical world—is gaining attention as one of the next-generation core technologies. In particular, development approaches based on simulation environments that accurately reflect the characteristics of real robots are rapidly expanding in the humanoid robotics field.

In response to this trend, WIRobotics plans to go beyond robot development by building an open development ecosystem where external researchers and developers can actively participate. The goal is to provide an environment in which a wide range of algorithms and AI models can be researched and validated through simulation, even before physical robots become commercially available.

The newly released ALLEX simulation model focuses on minimizing the Sim-to-Real Gap between the simulation environment and the physical robot. In particular, the model precisely reproduces the characteristics of the real ALLEX, including its high backdrivability and force transparency. This demonstrates the robot\'s highly differentiated Real-to-Sim characteristics, where the behavior of the physical robot closely matches that of the ideal simulation model. As a result, researchers and developers can conduct ALLEX-based robot control, learning, and synthetic data generation research without requiring access to physical hardware. The released model is available in MJCF format for MuJoCo, USD format for Isaac Sim, and URDF format for ROS.

This release marks the first step in WIRobotics\' Physical AI technology disclosure roadmap. The company plans to continue releasing additional core technologies developed throughout its humanoid robot program, further expanding the Physical AI development ecosystem.

Meanwhile, WIRobotics has also released a technical demonstration video through its official YouTube channel, showcasing the validation of consistency between the real robot and the simulation environment. The video provides a closer look at the technical implementation and the validation process.

Yong-Jae Kim, Co-CEO of WIRobotics, said:

\"In humanoid robot development, simulation models are a core infrastructure that serves as the foundation for learning, validation, and synthetic data generation. A simulation environment that effectively reflects the characteristics of the real robot enables developers to validate algorithms more quickly and increases the potential for successful deployment on physical hardware.\"

He added:

\"We plan to make the ALLEX research platform available later this year. By releasing the ALLEX simulation model, we hope more developers will begin ALLEX-based research even before the hardware becomes widely available. We will continue expanding a development ecosystem where research outcomes can ultimately be applied to real robots.\"
