According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, 137 Vietnamese businesses participated in the CAEXPO this year, an increase of 30% against 2015.
Speaking at the ceremony, PM Phuc spoke highly of the Ministry’s preparations for the Vietnamese businesses to join the exhibition while hoping that the Vietnamese businesses would seek opportunities to expand export markets.
Vietnamese products on display cover agro-forestry, electronics, processing food, furniture, timber, pharmacy and medical equipment, construction materials, and tourism.
Organizers said the Vietnamese pavilion attracted around 50,000 turns of visitors and the value of the signed contracts reached over US$100 million last year.
Thanks to the annual CAEXPO, many Vietnamese exports like Bitis sandals and timber products become familiar in Guangxi, Yunnan and other Southern Chinese localities.
Viet Nam expects to enhance economic, trade and investment with China and other ASEAN countries in order to contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability and accelerate prosperity in the region, PM Phuc told Chinese reporters.
