The Nestlé Bong Sen factory – one of the company's most cutting-edge facilities – broke ground in 2016 and was put into operation in 2017. The factory boasts seven production lines with the total investment capital of $115 million. Key products manufactured at the factory include the Bear brand and MILO milk. The factory employs 300 permanent staff and 300 part-time workers.

Ivo Sieber, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, lauded Nestlé for its investment in the cutting-edge production line to produce nutritious products. This underscores the company’s commitment to long-term investment in Hung Yen as well as its contribution to strengthening the ties between Switzerland and Vietnam.

In 2021, Vietnam and Switzerland marked 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations with a series of events and meetings between senior leaders of the two countries. The growth of investment activities is a testament to the thriving ties between the nations, in which Nestlé plays a key role.

The Nestlé Bong Sen factory has been a pioneer in implementing sustainable development goals, especially amidst the pandemic. The connected factory model with a focus on digitalisation leads to an improvement in productivity, efficiency, and quality while reducing input materials and resources.

By adopting digitalisation and risk management procedures, Nestlé Bong Sen maintain business continuity without disrupting the supply chain. This helps provide nutritious products and food to Hung Yen and the northern provinces alike.

Urs Kloeti, director of the Nestlé Bong Sen factory said that "Over the past five years, the factory has expanded into a large-scale and modern production house for ready-to-drink products. It has become Nestlé’s first factory in Asia to reduce packaging materials and switch completely from plastic to paper straws.

It has become the typical example for the group in producing ready-to-drink products in an efficient and sustainable manner. To achieve this goal, the factory has received support from local authorities, key partners, and the constant efforts of its staff.

Speaking at the event, Pham Truong Tam, head of the Management Board of Hung Yen Industrial Zones Management Authority, said "After five years of operation, Nestlé Bong Sen has supplied high-quality products and cemented its brand in the market, contributing to the development of food manufacturing in Vietnam and Hung Yen. It has implemented corporate social responsibility activities to ensure socioeconomic development. The project reflects the successful investment partnership between Vietnam and Switzerland."

Nestlé Vietnam is one of the most outstanding taxpayers in Hung Yen. In 2020, the company was awarded the Certificate of Merit for positive contributions to the local budget.

In 2021, thanks to nominations from Hung Yen People's Committee and the Fatherland Front of Hung Yen, Nestlé Vietnam was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the prime minister for its contribution to fighting against the pandemic. The company has so far made donations with a total value of around $216,000.
