"It was an emotional moment for me, tough for me to swallow," Pierce said. "You don't see it to often where a player accomplishes that kind of feat playing with one team."
Ray Allen had 23 points for the Celtics, Rajon Rondo had 17 points and 15 assists, and Kevin Garnett scored 13 and grabbed eight rebounds.
Aussie Andrew Bogut scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds for the Bucks who fell to 1-4 on the season. Ersan Ilyasova and Carlos Delfino each scored 15 points and Brandon Jennings had 13.
"We were right there," said Bogut, of Melbourne. "We had a couple screw ups on some plays and some defensive mishaps in layups. Beyond that we'd win the game."
The Celtics held a 25-16 margin heading into the second quarter, but the Bucks rallied in the second to tie the game at 47-47 at halftime.
