Earlier on May 15, PM Nguyen Tan Dung sent Notice No. 697/CĐ-TTg on guaranteeing security and order, which confirmed that the people throughout the country have expressed their patriotism legitimately by protesting China’s illegal placement of its Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig in Viet Nam’s waters.

Some people have violated the law and spontaneously damaged production units, including those of foreign investors, opposed the authority and badly affected the Party and State’s diplomatic policies.

The Departments of Customs and Taxation are required to keep updated with any developments of the situation and promptly launch measures to assist businesses in guaranteeing their operation in imports and exports as well as work with other agencies, especially insurance businesses, to deal with their damages in line with law.

The Head of the Agency for Insurance Supervision and Management directs insurance businesses to supervise and indentify specific damages to compensate and help enterprises recover their operation.

The Minister of Finance (MoF) asked the ministry's press agencies to launched communication campaigns to help people and enterprises fully grasp sea and island knowledge and protect the nation’s sea and island territory in conformity with international law.
