Meeting between PM and business community to be organized

A meeting between the PM and the Vietnamese business community in 2017 is expected to be held from May 10-20.

The meeting is aimed at reviewing the implementation of Resolution No. 35/NQ-CP on some pressing matters for environment protection and Resolution 19-2016/NQ-CP on measures improving the business environment enhancing national competitiveness.

A total number of 200 delegates from foreign-invested businesses, financial institutions and representatives of Embassies in Viet Nam and 1,200 domestic businessmen and co-operatives will join the event.

This is the most crucial event of the year, which creates an opportunity for the business circle to voice difficulties and obstacles facing them.

In the first four months of this year, 39,580 enterprises were established with a combined capital of VND369.6 trillion (US$16.25 billion), up 14% and 48.9% year on year, respectively.

Together with VND455.7 trillion (US$20.04 billion) added into already established firms, VND825.3 trillion (US$36.2 billion) was pumped into the economy in the first four months of 2017.

At the same time, 11,545 businesses resumed operations, an increase of 1.9% year-on-year.
